Sorry should have had a question mark there, @LouiseBelchersBunnyEars

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 18/05/2022 17:55

No, just checked, it was Sanjay Sood-Smith.
Guy that was on the apprentice

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 18/05/2022 17:55

I can’t remember what his role was though?

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 18/05/2022 17:58

SSS is ex Stonewall.

IcakethereforeIam · 18/05/2022 17:59

@ifIwerenotanandroid so's the sprog, sounds perfect, thank you.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 18/05/2022 17:55

I can’t remember what his role was though?

Sanjay Sood-Smith was SW's Executive Director of Workplace and Community Programmes.

Role in this is a little murky to me. Plausibly mostly about the influence of the Diversity Champions' scheme, WEI etc.?

Allison Bailey - claimant

Witnesses for the claimant:
Nic Williams - Fair Play for Women
A Woman's Place
FiLiA
Kate Harris - LGB Alliance

Witnesses for the respondents:
Stephen Lue - barrister for GCC
Kirrin Medcalfe - head of trans inclusion Stonewall
Sanjay Sood Smith - Stonewall
Shaan Knan - Stonewall (?) think STAG but didn't see their x-exam
Leslie Thomas QC - barrister at GCC
Rajiv Menon - joint head of chambers
Maya Sikand - barrister at GCC and in charge of writing report on AB/complaints
Mia Hakl-Law - HR senior for GCC

To come - Judy Khan - barrister at GCC
Stephanie Harrison - joint head of chambers
Michelle Brewer - barrister at GCC at time, now left and a judge

Thanks folks. The witnesses for Alison feel like last year! Anything else wrong?

Is it ok to post full names? Should I revert to inititals?

MS is probably stocking pins in a miniature BC voodoo doll.

Oh dear - now I'm stuck with a mental image of a miniature BC doll wearing stockings....

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 18/05/2022 18:06

Shaan Knan never worked at Stonewall but was on the STAG. They worked for the LGBT Consortium.

TheBiologyStupid · 18/05/2022 18:09

User237845 · 18/05/2022 17:35

Thanks, @ickky and @Ameanstreakamilewide .

I wonder if it would be helpful to have a list of witnesses so far and their roles and the ones we think are to come? Can anyone add to this and could you possibly but it in a post, @ickky, so it shows up green? (Not in your opening posts but any old one.)

Allison Bailey - claimant
Stephen Lue - barrister for GCC
Kirrin Medcalfe - head of trans inclusion Stonewall
? Was there another stonewally person??
Rajiv Menon - joint head of chambers
Maya Sikand - barrister at GCC and in charge of writing report on AB/complaints
Mia Hakl-Law - HR senior for GCC

To come - Judy Khan - barrister at GCC
Stephanie Harrison - joint head of chambers
Michelle Brewer - barrister at GCC at time, now left and a judge

Hope this is not superfluous - I have always been terrible with names.

Yes the other "Stonewally person" was the unimpressive ( but unhelpful to MB, so that should be interesting) Shann Knan.

TheClitterati · 18/05/2022 18:09

I might need to book a day off for Judge Brewer time in the stand.

(I've taken LT's QC off as pretty sure many (most?) others are QCs but can't remember who.) Also sorry mis-spelt Allison in last post.

Don't know if this has already been linked to/posted but it's worth a read.

Link to tweet

"Morgan Page's email explanation of the cotton ceiling confirms what is obvious to everyone other than Garden Court Chambers witness Maya Sikand this morning."

Good grief, Morgan Page actually says that whereas the glass ceiling represented a barrier that women could not break through to access power and authority, the cotton ceiling represents underwear and signifies sex.

It couldn't be any plainer. Not least the awful matter-of-fact way in which it's apparently perfectly acceptable to have a fucking 'workshop' about getting sex from women whose orientation doesn't include you.

i'd like to know what tools would be employed by heterosexual males to access sex with homosexual females, that don't involve any kind of coercion.

I can't get over it. A bloody workshop!!

2.
a meeting at which a group of people engage in intensive discussion and activity on a particular subject or project.

Manderleyagain · 18/05/2022 18:28

Didn't one of the clerks give evidence earlier on? Or maybe I'm just remembering their evidence being referred to (only reading, not watching).

Ameanstreakamilewide · 18/05/2022 18:28

It's abhorrent and shame on MS for defending it.

Clymene · 18/05/2022 18:30

Do we need to add David de Menezes to the list of possible witnesses?

He is head of marketing for GCC and was mentioned extensively by LT in his evidence

Rightsraptor · 18/05/2022 18:33

We saw Lisa Marie Taylor for Filia early on in this tribunal. I can't see why full names can't be used for those who have already appeared as that puts them in the public sphere.

God I missed some good stuff today. Damn

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 18/05/2022 18:35

@SpiderVersed - I love that film! It has become a LiesDoNot family favourite.

'Never get involved in a land war in Asia' is still excellent advice.

'As you wish ' is usually the right answer.

'You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it does ' is appropriate more often than you'd think.

Datun · 18/05/2022 18:35

I'm sure I remember Stonewall saying they were going to call 30 witnesses??

SpindleInTheWind · 18/05/2022 18:36

Meanwhile, David, Head of Brand, is worried that Siobhan Sharpe's 'curved gender' ideas may prove too complicated for the public, and starts to massage the message in advance of the tribunal hearing

IcakethereforeIam · 18/05/2022 18:49

'Anybody want a peanut?'

Also loved Peter Falk, pity Columbo can't be in the film, '..just one more thing'.

Datun · 18/05/2022 18:35

I'm sure I remember Stonewall saying they were going to call 30 witnesses??

How is Louise Rankin (?) going to get any work done if there is a need for LR to turn out to be a page turner/IT support/whatever for that number of witnesses?

Oh, so much of this tribunal has had me mentally adding in a David Tennant voice over, as he did in W1A!
I know it's serious, and so horrible for Allison, but honestly, it does sound so unbelievable that so called highly intelligent, highly educated adults could behave in this way.

Just like W1A

Jaw dropping, tbh.

Crikey. I've just come to place mark and the thread is already at 624
Fast work vipers. It must have been a good day in court.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 18/05/2022 18:58

I'm imagining all the clerks as Joe from This Life but I get the sense they're more diverse than that.
