Will this get on to BC asking KM what was transphobic about AB objecting to the Cotton Ceiling workshop and to give his view on the subject?

Pluvia · 10/05/2022 15:00

Indeed. Again, the invocation of safety. It keeps coming up.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/05/2022 15:00

I need a cup of tea!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/05/2022 15:01

I imagine the support dog needs a loo break too.

littlbrowndog · 10/05/2022 15:01

Terf is used all the time as a slur. Men use as they get to be able to abuse women online without being called out

shut up terf when they would have liked to have said shut up bitch and so on

tabbycatstripy · 10/05/2022 15:01

In his witness statement, KM says the workshop wasn’t about overcoming sexual barriers (despite it in fact being about that because the English language). He says it was about how a TW a should ‘out’ themselves in lesbian communities to avoid being attacked.

No, I don’t know how.

As a PP said I am gobsmacked at the number of supposedly incredibly intelligent ppl running highly complex organisations who have outsourced their thinking to the likes of Kirrin…..

However, it keeps being shut down as hateful if women want safety.

Exactly.

Anyone else finding it’s clear that to gain high level at employment at Stonewall the only qualification you need is a Certificate of Gender Woo

😂

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/05/2022 15:03

Like all fans of Stonewall law, Medcalf appears to believe that rights to use women's spaces were granted to this group of males by the Equality Act.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 10/05/2022 15:04

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/05/2022 14:56

I don't think BC, a barrister acting on cases relating to equality law, needs a non lawyer's wot I reckon explanation of said law.

Indeed - but it's incredibly illuminating to hear KM say all the crazy out loud

VestofAbsurdity · 10/05/2022 15:04

How very gracious and kind of KM and SW to agree that it would be okay to exclude TW from a cervical screening service. So nice to know that we women are granted some crumbs from the table whist the males stuff their faces.

Artichokeleaves · 10/05/2022 15:04

Really SW are arguing heresy against the One True Faith. They're going for it. Unbelievers must be cast out from among us.

It's quite sad to watch.

nauticant · 10/05/2022 15:05

It is a tragic loss to posterity that a video recording of KM's testimony won't be preserved.

(And no. I'm not suggesting someone should break the law by making one.)

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 10/05/2022 15:06

He says it was about how a TW a should ‘out’ themselves in lesbian communities to avoid being attacked. No, I don’t know how.

I think the premise is that no one's going to know a TW is male unless they are informed (and also that many lesbians are violent transphobes who'd beat up a TW for being male if they knew.) By this (completely doolally, obviously) reckoning the main barrier preventing TW from dating lesbians isn't a lack of interest but a fear of being "outed."

Mum's had enough

Has mum gone then?

I bet the dog would go too given half a chance.

No wonder Michael Cashman has been so angry for the last several years!

How much do we think Stonewall pays its Head of Transgender Inclusion? I want to apply for a pay rise.

nauticant · 10/05/2022 15:14

BC: Did you read the Times article the tweet was about?

KM: No. [then loads of waffle]

Ameanstreakamilewide · 10/05/2022 15:15

EJ Goodman - 'i couldn't follow every word you said.'

No shit, Ma'am!

EJ I'm sorry KM, I can't understand what you said. KM responds with another incoherent torrent. EJ not sure whether Garden Court were intimidating members of Stonewall on the premises or vice versa. I suspect she is still none the wiser.

Datun · 10/05/2022 15:18

I can't believe they're yelling quite so many quiet bits out loud at once !

ifIwerenotanandroid · 10/05/2022 15:18

I haven't tried logging in to the tribunal. I so so so wish I'd logged in today. Somebody please make the film.
