'Protestors are now outside the Mechanics Institute where the Woman’s Place UK group are holding a conference on ‘single-sex provision in policy and law’.'

'Women gathering to discuss our rights are being subject to a large, aggressive protest. In 2022. Please follow #WPUKManchester and share so that people can see what women have to put up with when trying to meet.'

Of course not. They might think and say the wrong things.

I can absolutely guarantee it, ItsAllGoingToBeFine...

The "journalist" previously sent this supportive tweet:

The video of Jen Ives receiving abuse at a LGB Alliance conference is disgusting. Sending love to all the trans/non-binary folk out there who sadly have to face this kind of abhorrent hatred on a regular basis.

So, I expect he'll condemn today's protestors any second...it's okay I'll wait...any second...

Thelnebriati · 24/03/2022 20:58

The chant seems to be ''Women's Place UK are a place for hate''. I know they didn't have much time to come up with something witty or apt, but they could have tried.

RoyalCorgi · 24/03/2022 21:01

Worth looking at the retweets:

twitter.com/AdamMaidment/status/1507080950856896522/retweets/with_comments

Trans activists don't seem to be retweeting for some reason. Can't imagine why. Or perhaps they dimly, in some corner of their minds, understand that a group of angry men shouting abuse at women meeting to protect single-sex spaces makes women's point for them.

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 24/03/2022 21:05

The right side of history demonstratiNg exactly why women don’t want to share their single sex spaces with men no matter how they present

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 24/03/2022 21:06

This guy is inside tweeting about what’s happening

Wow.

The protest outside probably has no idea it is currently attempting to drown out the voice of refugee Maggy Moyo, speaking about her struggle for women's rights and helping vulnerable women

" our rights were taken away from us forcefully "

Maggy is an African asylum seeker. She is telling us of the horrors of FGM and forced abortions that were visited on her fellow women in the name of "culture". And why single sex 'safe space' is vital for these traumatised women

--

We now how Judith Green speaking, a female survivor of childhood sexual abuse. She's doing her best to be heard and stay composed whilst the sizeable crowd outside attempts to drown her out

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 24/03/2022 21:22

It’s absolutely appalling

I assume it won’t be safe for those inside to leave till that lot have been dispersed

Now I’m sure all the ppl who were scolding women about agression on the thread about Jen Ives will be along any second to condemn the yelling and abuse by the crowd

Any time soon….

Right??

"our rights were taken away from us forcefully" #WPUKManchester'

Sad

I'm so bloody sorry, Maggy. The UK should be a safe haven for you.

'Women's Place UK are a place for hate', apparently. So they brought every last bit that they could ..

PronounssheRa · 24/03/2022 21:29

Bunch of over privileged white people shouting down an asylum seeker.

Slow hand clap guys, well done. They haven't a clue.

pombear · 24/03/2022 21:29

Flowers because there isn't a heart emoji to send to all those attending the event this evening. I wish you safe travels home.

Having experienced the crowd demonstrating against us, smoke bombs and shouting and all, at the Labour Women's event in London just before the pandemic, it is very intimidating.

And from what I saw and experienced at that event, this type of demonstration creates an even greater solidarity, support and resolve amongst the women who meet, despite the intimidation and anger against women speaking about women's experiences, to keep doing so.

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 24/03/2022 21:33

This guy from Manchester university is outside in the crowd & thinks men yelling at women is just brilliant

Waitwhat23 · 24/03/2022 21:34

Men shouting down women. What.a.surprise.

Gender ideology has been a fucking gift to MRA's and Incels. A socially 'acceptable' excuse to intimidate and threaten women.

Solidarity to those attending the WPUK event.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 24/03/2022 21:34

Maggy Moyo and Judith Green are too obviously speaking inconvenient truths about the lived experience of women and why they deserve the dignity and compassion of single sex places to recover from their trauma.

Angry
TheUsualShitshow · 24/03/2022 21:37

I am seething today. How much men truly hate us, at a societal level, continues to terrify and dismay me. What are they thinking protesting the fact that women are speaking?!

Utter shameful abusive misogynistic cunts.

DomesticatedZombie · 24/03/2022 21:38

Hoping the women in the meeting all manage to get home safely. I'm just fucking sick of this shit.

OP posts:
Whatsnewpussyhat · 24/03/2022 21:42

Men are angry because women are speaking for themselves. Same old misogyny.

Terfydactyl · 24/03/2022 21:42

The more anyone tries to stop women talking, the more the uninitiated (as yet) wonder why?
What do they think will happen if they managed to prevent meet ups like this, I mean it's not going to happen but just say it did.
Wouldnt we just keep it quiet, go neighbour to neighbour, tell our friends and family, organise an underground. Ffs women talk just the same as men talk. There is no stopping us and this kind of behaviour at an event like this simply proves why we need our own spaces.

Shoot self in foot. Morons.

FunnyTalks · 24/03/2022 21:42

Privileged little turds. They think they're enlightened but their actions are on the same spectrum of misogyny as the Taliban.

DomesticatedZombie · 24/03/2022 21:43

Interesting chant. Sure the police are delighted.

This is really upsetting.

Over privileged dickheads attempting to intimidate women. They really need a mirror to see where the hate lies.

Solidarity to all those attending the meeting and I hope you all get home safely.
