Great article in Spiked Online about Mridul Wadwha's latest shenanigans:

www.spiked-online.com/2022/02/01/the-thought-police-are-here/

To briefly summarise:

  • Mridul was born male
  • Mridul is legally male with no GRC
  • Mridul is the CEO of Edinburgh Rape crisis
  • Mridul claims women who want female only rape crisis services are bigoted and should 'reframe their trauma'
  • The CEO of a domestic violence charity Nicola Murray stopped referring women to Mridul's rape crisis service due to Mridul's misogyny
  • Mridul reported Nicola Murray to the police for committing a hate crime
  • The police actually visited Nicola Murray to question her thinking

They are obviously down with the cool kids sausage.

The kids stopped saying lol so long ago they are no longer kids and the next lot of kids don't say it either. I've used it once in this thread I think, to denote I thought something was laughable.

Helleofabore · 06/02/2022 20:31

Oh really? This is not true in my experience. My teen uses it. Their friends use it. I have heard it in use at my teen's school recently.

Maybe it is like 'it goes to a different school'.

again, not a threat, just something her went ahead and did, but how about Kellie Maloney, who strangled his ex wife? I mean she didn't die or anything, so I expect his ex wife was making a fuss about nothing

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 06/02/2022 20:45

@barleybadminton

How many other murderers and rapists are given the floor at the HoL?

I don't know but I think it's important those responsible for prisons hear the views of long term prisoners and by it's nature that is going to mean listening to people who have done horrifying things.

Would be nice if they listened to the women on occasion.

You know ,the ones who don't do horrifying things. Unless you consider "living while being female" to be an affront.

DdraigGoch · 06/02/2022 20:49

a lot of the time people are not who they say they are online

@barleybadminton are you trying to say that you aren't actually a TRA, and are instead a GC fifth columnist who has infiltrated TRA ranks in order to destabilise their position?

Well done, you had us completely fooled!

DdraigGoch · 06/02/2022 20:53

Of course FPFW and the LGBA met with the EHRC recently. That didn't go down well with the TRAs though, did it? Apparently women and gay men meeting with public bodies to defend their rights is outrageous but inviting a male with convictions for a series of violent offences is quite routine.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 06/02/2022 20:56

Have they listened to the women who've been in prison, on prisoner welfare?

@Datun

No woman thinks that suck my dick cunt is not a threat of sexual violence. of course it is. What else is it?

I'm not at all surprised Barley doesn't realise that, though.

Well I doubt Cardi B thinks that who famously told her haters to suck her dick and pointed out she had a pink dildo so that was a possibility. Or L'il Kim when she wrote her song Suck My Dick. Or Eminem for that matter who also has a song called Suck My Dick.

But I'm prepared to concede that perhaps this is a generational and cultural thing. It's a phrase used all the time in hip hop and in popular culture. No-one using it means it literally, it is not a serious demand, it just means fuck off. I do think it's probably rooted in both misogyny and homophobia in that it is presumed sucking a dick is unpleasant and something no-one would would want to do - much like eat shit which is often used in the same way. But it is not intended as a threat by those who use it, although perhaps it is understandable it may be perceived that way by someone from a different culture or generation.

Still at least the discussion got the boards moving eh. It's so sluggish round here these days. Almost felt like the glory days for a while then when you could barely keep up with new threads let alone new posts.

I think the outrage is more that EHRC only appear interested in meeting groups from one side of the debate. I don't really see what that's got to do with an ex prisoner speaking in the House of Lords four years ago.
Waitwhat23 · 06/02/2022 21:34

This is presumably a very tiresome allusion to the misconception held by anti woman posters that the posters on here are all white, middle class, straight, middle aged women.

Of course it's meant as a threat. You can use illustrations from rap music as much as you like but the phrase 'suck my dick' or to use the much more commonly seen 'suck my dick, you transphobic cunt' is a violent sexual threat, particularly when used by someone who is protesting against women having sex based rights.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 06/02/2022 21:38

Yes, this is a British forum. Well done.

As for the "generational", pshaw. Women of all ages are saying no here.

Stick a sock in it.

Those are fantastic socks. We will be accused of being sock puppets next!

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 06/02/2022 22:01

What kind of mind can deny that right to request a female examiner to a shaking, traumatised woman on the worst day of her life when that person is also the CEO of a rape crisis centre?

Is the mind akin to the type of mind whose response to women saying that "suck my dick" is intimidating, sexually aggressive imagery is
But I'm prepared to concede that perhaps this is a generational and cultural thing instead of accepting what we say?

Perhaps? That reads very much like you're implying we're faking our horror and disgust. Women lie about sexual violence, I suppose?

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 06/02/2022 22:08

cor, when the snarky digs come out you really know the person issuing them is on the ropes

Apropos of nothing in particular, my late mother was into Eminem. I found it terribly embarrassing at the time. But the only thing more embarrassing than a mother who is into Eminem might be an older relative who googled music entitled "suck my dick", looking for female artists, and didn't realise Eminem was a white bloke. Not a woman, not a trans woman, a man. Grin
VestofAbsurdity · 06/02/2022 22:28

Once again this is a lie, have you seen the list of groups at their Round Table Meeting?

The outrage is because the EHRC dare to meet groups from the other side of the debate, groups that represent the other protected characteristics because in TRA land there is only one protected characteristic, only one permitted view, only one permitted discourse, everything else is verbotten.

TRA and Gender Ideology World is totalitarian, authoritarian and brooks no dissent nor consideration for any one other than the favoured select few. TRAs and their supporters are not in the least but interested in human rights for anyone else, or equality or even equity it's all about power and control.

Pretty desperate stuff this. You'd have to have been living in a cave not to know who Eminem is. I was about 20 when his first album was released.

Is that like a theme park or something?

Aha! So you do know he's a bloke, so why are you posting his choice of song titles in response to Datun? Did you think we didn't?

Datun: No woman thinks that suck my dick cunt is not a threat of sexual violence. of course it is. What else is it?

And you brought up Eminem. Personally, I've never really thought of Eminem's œuvre as particularly feminist. Nor would I value his opinion on what was and what was not a threat of sexual violence, given that I remember him writing about killing his ex, the mother of his daughter, and shoving her body in the boot of a car.

Perhaps treating male violence like some kind of joke is a generational thing? Oh wait, no, there are women on here of all ages who don't. It must be something else.

Maybe it's just a trademark of the kind of mind that can deny the right to request a female examiner to a shaking, traumatised woman on the worst day of her life.

Well i would have been a toddler and while I can't quite say that I've never heard of them, I didn't know anything beyond a name I'd overheard in passing (a name which I may initially have confused with the sugar-coated chocolate confectionery). I certainly couldn't have told you who they were or what they did.

But then I wasn't exactly in the in-crowd. I used to tune my bedroom radio to Classic FM.
