Great article in Spiked Online about Mridul Wadwha's latest shenanigans:

www.spiked-online.com/2022/02/01/the-thought-police-are-here/

To briefly summarise:

  • Mridul was born male
  • Mridul is legally male with no GRC
  • Mridul is the CEO of Edinburgh Rape crisis
  • Mridul claims women who want female only rape crisis services are bigoted and should 'reframe their trauma'
  • The CEO of a domestic violence charity Nicola Murray stopped referring women to Mridul's rape crisis service due to Mridul's misogyny
  • Mridul reported Nicola Murray to the police for committing a hate crime
  • The police actually visited Nicola Murray to question her thinking

We need to keep saying the right words, as stated.

Mridul reported Nicola Murray to the police for committing a hate crime

There's a thread about Nicola M in which whether Mridul "reported Nicola Murray to the police for committing a hate crime" is contested so it will be interesting to see if that piece stands as it is without amendment.

Mridul W has tweeted about reporting many incidents (in general) without further action being taken.

Rhannion · 03/02/2022 18:28

I think the story was pulled because Nicola Murray didn’t want any more attention on where she & her family live. As her charity deals with male violence against pregnant women that’s an understandable concern.

IamSarah · 03/02/2022 18:42

Mridul even admitted it.

Pity the police keep pandering to this claptrap when a couple of posts down is a list of all.the women recently murdered by violent men.
Priorities eh?

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 03/02/2022 19:08

The names of the women chilled me to the bone.

I’ll worry about this thread’s ‘hate crime’ only once femicide and hate crimes to women are no more.

Can mridul not see that the lack of charges against anyone might mean that mridul is not interpreting people's behaviour or the law correctly? Mridul could do with engaging in some reflection about what actually constitutes hate. Mridul should show some compassion to people who disagree with mridul.

Mollyollydolly · 03/02/2022 20:18

Brendan writes really well on this subject.

One would hope the lack of charges would be a substantial clue to which a senior person in an organisation would pay attention and reflect on why this is happening.

tbh, however, given David Paisley's success in having charges brought (and discontinued in the case of Millar although waiting on Black) I can see why MW might take a Robert the Bruce stance towards the rewards of persistence.

Mridul reported Nicola Murray to the police for committing a hate crime

No, we don't know that. Nicola was visited by the police shortly after her online statement that she could no longer refer women to rape crisis services due to Mridul's comments.

Some months later Mridul tweeted that Mridul had made numerous report of alleged hate crimes to the police over the preceding years.

The two events may seem to be obviously connected but we don't know for definite. It may just be an unfortunate coincidence.

bishophaha · 03/02/2022 23:14

I agree Betsy that the tweet doesn't mean MW reported this particular incident.
Stating that as fact might get the thread removed. I'm keeping an open mind on this particular aspect. But it does not change my opinion on what things MW has been proven to do and say.

allmywhat · 04/02/2022 06:14

Some months later

The same day the news broke.

(I agree with not openly drawing obvious inferences from the facts, but let’s have all the relevant facts.)

IamSarah · 04/02/2022 09:29

I think it's interesting that Mridul subsequently deleted their Twitter account.

You can't just go around slandering people, barley.

She's quoting from a media article. She didn't make it up herself. It's not her fault if people tweeted at Wadhwa because of what Wadhwa may or may not have done. I don't know, and I doubt you do either.

The media article does not claim that Wadhwa contacted the police over Nicola Murray.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/02/2022 14:43

It strongly implies it, plus there has rightly or wrongly been other discourse about this. If Wadhwa is being unfairly slandered, Wadhwa has all the recourses anyone does available to them (like GC feminists do when people spread lies about them, as they frequently do), like a lawyer's letter to Spiked demanding a retraction.

I didn't know that. Is that quite a recent event? (I'd far rather people engaged on Twitter but it's understandable that people have their own engagement preferences.)
IamSarah · 04/02/2022 19:33

What did I miss? Or do I not want to know.

Yes Mridul's Twitter being deleted is very recent. Mridul has blocked my @SarahSurviving account but I still have a regular account in my real name.

You missed being corrected for your dishonest claim that Mridul was the one who contacted the police over Nicola Murray.
