Brilliant! I was dreading that he’d get away with it. I found fare how long his suspension was for?

ScreamingMeMe · 30/11/2021 19:07

Holeeeeee crap Shock

Rightsraptor · 30/11/2021 19:11

The old "I was only joking' defence (from the DM article). Pathetic. The language of the abuser, as we know round these parts.

hoodathunkit · 30/11/2021 19:13

About time

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 30/11/2021 19:13

I believe that the suspension is for 28 days.

ScreamingMeMe · 30/11/2021 19:14

Tribunal Tweets:

"So Dr Adrian Harrop is suspended for 28 days unless he decides to appeal. If he does appeal, he can practice until the outcome of that appeal is known"

"And I can confirm that Adrian Harrop is not appealing.

The team will post the decision here when we receive the copy by email.

So this is
@StoatlyL signing off for the
@tribunaltweets volunteer reporting collective until we return for Stage two of the Webberley Tribunal."

Definitely not before time. Odious little misogynist.

Hope he reflects on this painful but valuable lesson.

Doyouwantcoffee · 30/11/2021 19:18

……the DM article says for a month.

DismantledKing · 30/11/2021 19:27

So we can now refer to him as ‘disgraced GP Adrian Harrop’. Lol, about time.

Abhannmor · 30/11/2021 19:31

A risibly short suspension.

Dr Disrepute has a certain ring to it.
Oldtiredfedup · 30/11/2021 19:33

28 days….

Says it all really…..bet he’s laughing

ShirleyPhallus · 30/11/2021 19:37

Yes it’s bloody ridiculous that it’s so short, but at least he’s had to make a grovelling apology that he was wrong and reflecting on his mistakes blah blah

Forever more, if he wants to work as a GP or in the NHS, he will have explain why he has a suspension on his record

That will do for me

Personwithrage · 30/11/2021 19:42

It will be longer than a month before he can return to work as noted by the panel.

Adrian Harrop has had his medical licence suspended

I like a bit of good news 😊

Disgusting individual

heathspeedwell · 30/11/2021 19:47

Brilliant news. I was expecting the suspension to be more in the region of six months, but in the middle of a pandemic it would be counter-productive to suspend him for longer, so perhaps he got lucky with the timing.

Good.

28 days seems laughable, but what does it mean that “he may not be able to return immediately after the period of suspension”….I seem to remember from an earlier thread that suspended doctors have to prove to a panel that they have addressed the issues of concern before they can return? Does that apply here?

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/11/2021 19:50

Yes. This isn't a slap on the wrist. He's been found to have brought the profession into disrepute. The tribunal called his actions "Deplorable".

This is very, very serious for a doctor.

His card is marked for the rest of his career.

Lots of informed analysis on the 'MPTS' thread.

NeedsCharging · 30/11/2021 19:51

I will take 28 days.
I was expecting a warning not to do it again.
A suspension will follow him.

Is it a disgrace considering the abuse and misogyny he displayed? YES!
However given where we are in this fight I will take the minor win.

chilling19 · 30/11/2021 19:58

Just think - he now has to shut up for the rest of his career. So, although only 28 days, it is really a life sentence if he wants to keep practising. I am hoping that he finally realises he has been led on by the bullies who have used him unmercifully and who, if he does get the boot for not keeping his mouth shut in future, will throw him under the bus without a backward glance. Not holding my breath though.

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 30/11/2021 20:05

He has permanently besmirched his professional reputation. That’ll do it for me. Loathsome individual
