“Having my personal life, actions, professionalism, and personality debated on a public stage has been horrendous.

Has his personal life been "debated", though? I've never seen anything mentioned, other than what he has posted on social media - like his pilgrimage to Jon-Benet Ramsay's grave and his tour of Surrey. But, certainly, his actions, professionalism (or lack of it) and personality have been discussed on MN.

If you don't want your life discussed, don't put it on social media for all to see.

Ah Jesus. I had forgotten about the JonBenet thing Envy

No reflection whatsoever about his patients and victims of his bullying.

He doesn't see it as bullying, never did. He sees it as women getting their just desserts for saying words he didn't like.

FlyingOink · 01/12/2021 17:16

Several of Harrop’s tweets, seen by VICE World News, were sent in response to homophobic and transphobic posts he received, as well as some death threats.

Is this actually true though?

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/12/2021 17:40

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

‘And I think the media career is sunk unless it's with some absolute extremist outfit which would see this as a positive, Prick News maybe? Jessen too!‘

Tbh I don’t think the media career was ever going to happen as he doesn’t come across on tv with enough warmth or charisma.
If it was a possibility it will have been sunk by the Posie interview in which he comes across as a petty vindictive frother with no self possession and not very bright to boot.

The Posie interview was in 2018. I don't think he's been on any mainstream channel since.

He did a real Prince Andrew.

Adrian's local paper does a better job of representing what happened than vice does

I wish it was permanent.
Nobody who hates women as much as he does should ever be allowed in such a position of trust with them.

WinterTrees · 01/12/2021 18:35

God, that Vice article. He's either monumentally stupid, or his ego is just so huge that he's willing to sacrifice his career and any chance he has of practicing mainstream medicine again just to be able to stick his tongue out at the nasty women and say they haven't won.

'Stronger and more determined'? To what? Crush women and trample their rights, but in ways that won't put him in danger of punishment next time?

It's hilarious that he tries to make out he's actually done something noble for the NHS by abusing his position as a doctor and bringing the profession into disrepute. And if being suspended means that I can play my part in making sure that public confidence in the profession is maintained, then so be it. What a pompous little twerp.

LOLeater · 01/12/2021 18:59

This news has cheered me up enormously - but 28 days isn’t long enough. His tweets were offensive and unprofessional. Glad he’s not my GP.

ShagMeRiggins · 02/12/2021 10:23

TheCountess on the MPTS thread someone described his telly performances as (I paraphrase) “something, charmless wazzock.”

I think it was Bore and it made me roar. I don’t even know what a wazzock is (not from the UK), but I knew it was the perfect word.

Honestly, he can stand up for trans people all he likes. I have no problem with that—many trans people need support. All I want is for him to stop abusing people (women) who disagree with him about women’s rights. It’s not a lot to ask.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/12/2021 11:55

Yes, it was me that referred to him as a "pompous, charmless wazzock"!

Just posted on the other thread this link to an excellent new article in the Mail
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10262167/GP-likened-Rowling-Savile-doctor-accused-novelist-not-safe-kids.html
I rather think it will get more attention than Vice Grin

KarenDulchao1 · 02/12/2021 14:04

Would it be uncharitable of me to wish that a group of women would hound this idiot and make his life as miserable as he has made others?

Dontgetyerknicksinatwist · 02/12/2021 14:05

Good. He’s a nasty woman hater

mammajustkilledagnat · 02/12/2021 14:11

I think, if he bounces back in any way from this episode, he will eventually be the master of his own permanent downfall. He just won't be able to help himself. All the good women of Mumsnet have to do is just eat popcorn and watch. His most recent VICE article demonstrates he has not learned a thing and has zero insight as to what is and isn't appropriate for a person in his position going forward.

Let’s hope Agent Hunte writes a riposte to the Mail article in Vice, the disgraced dr hasn’t been humiliated enough this week.

If you're going to address someone in a tweet it's best to include their twitter handle. Otherwise there's no reason they'll see it unless it's drawn to their attention.
