We must have a tolerent debate.... Trans community are the most marginalised community of all

....and 'Only women have a cervix' is, "Something that should not be said."

The section of Jean's letter in which she shows how a TA tried to 'appropriate' the list of women murdered each year by saying some of them may have been misgendered and that they should only be regarded as 'people' is utterly chilling. She's quite right to lay that at Keir Starmer's door.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 27/09/2021 10:15

It's this 'most marginalised' crap that keeps getting trotted out.

I got used to that a few years ago. It’s been disproved so many times, it’s just not funny.

Homeless people sleeping on the streets?
Old people who haven’t had a visitor since covid began?
Women traumatised by male violence but not daring to use a DV shelter because it admits men?
No, not marginalised at all ….

But I can’t believe a political leader still believes the same uninformed nonsense that was disproved years ago. It has to be deliberate. Starmer is worse than a disappointment.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 27/09/2021 10:25

My theory is that Labour don't actually want to be in power at the moment. I don't know why.

With covid, brexit, economic instability etc, would you want to be in charge? Labour is copping out. We deserve a party, with sane policies, that wants to dig in and work our way out of this mess.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2021 10:31

Cracking quote from the Spiked article: 'All the talk of cervixes and other biological realities is offensive, apparently, to people with a cock and balls and five o’clock shadow who want to be women, too.'

And that's it, in a nutshell.

Whatdidijusthear · 27/09/2021 11:11

I’m really quite frightened and I’m shocked to hear myself say that.

AdmiralCain · 27/09/2021 11:11

I voted Count Binface in the London mayoral elections. That shows how much faith I have in, Labout, tories and lib dems.

I wasn't aware that when you transitioned they gave you a cervix...

Jaysmith71 · 27/09/2021 11:14

Compared to Boris's garden bridge, Binface's proposal to rename London Bridge as Phoebe Waller Bridge sounds altogether sensible.

This generation may want to believe that Gender is a social construct BUT Hormones and female / male anatomy is not a social construct and is a Biological construct.

Selkiesarereal · 27/09/2021 11:54

Labour are playing a dangerous game in trying to appeal to the young woke contingent as it is typically the older generation who turn out and vote.

I had hoped for better from Keir but it seems like labour don’t want to win the election whereas the Tories are masters at this stuff, they smell blood and will be ruthless on the attack.

WouldBeGood · 27/09/2021 12:05

It’s so ironic that they want to live life by gender stereotypes after all the work done to try to break those down.

Well it's now become apparent that if you want to reduce any politician with a desire to run the country to a gibbering wreck on the spot, you just ask them what a woman is.

Quick competency check right there. Useful.
