....and 'Only women have a cervix' is, "Something that should not be said."

I honestly believe many, many more summits have been reached this weekend. I told my husband about Marr this morning and he said ‘well that’s it then for Labour’. He thought what Starmer said was worse than the ‘bodies with vaginas’. I disagree, but whatever, scales are falling everywhere, light is streaming in. I feel women have been seriously under attack in these last two weeks, but I think it’s ‘jumped the shark’ (is that the phrase?) now. Doesn’t help us politically in the short term mind, and we are relying on the appalling Tories to hold the line on this issue, and if the ‘TWAW’ people all double down then we are particularly vulnerable, but I do have heart that the majority of the population now know that this is complete batshit.

To me, this really feels like critical mass. Finally.

Many people would accommodate transwomen (because let's face it, it's transwomen, not transmen), by being courteous, in terms of pronouns etc.

But saying that women are not allowed to identify their sex and that men have cervices is just a departure from any kind of reality.

Sticking to the party line, in the teeth of mass challenge, just makes it all worse. It looks like unhinged zealotry.

Which, of course, it is. And many women saw it coming.

I can remember talking about sport, I think it was, and being scoffed at with posters saying oh come on, datun, men would never be allowed to compete with women...

@PronounssheRa I said that on another thread, looking at IW tweets in recent days, I don’t think IW is in a good place, and I don’t think IW is getting the traction and validation IW expects. I think a lot of followers didn’t take too kindly to her tweets about JHB.

My theory is that Labour don't actually want to be in power at the moment. I don't know why.

There is a wide open goal - we have an openly corrupt government, the tail end of a global pandemic, a climate emergency, a self inflicted worsening of our economy together with a venal leader who seems at his happiest lying and who blows with the wind with regard to policy - and instead of taking them on, KS is deliberately booting the ball off the pitch into the stands to the rapturous applause of a bunch of blue hairs...

"Trans" and "Onlywomenhaveacervix" have been trending on twitter all day. I doubt that this is what Keir wanted to be the take away from his interview.

I suspect Indias understanding of what a cervix is, and what a cervix actually is, are two very different things.

I agree with a previous posters observation that India seems to be spiralling.

On the Julia Hartley Brewer show a couple of years ago in a discussion about prisons, India seem to think that transwomen were just like women, because there were 140 women in prison for sex offences, and a similar number for transwomen.

Not at all grasping that transwomen come from a cohort of about, what is it, a quarter of a million? And women come from a cohort of what is it 25, 30 million?

Ladies, you've got to be willing to vote for political parties that still acknowledge biological reality. Disenfranchising yourselves by spoiling your ballot papers (less than 100 years since women got the vote in the UK) will get women's rights precisely nowhere and lead to an even more dystopian reality. No party can ignore 51% population for ever....unless you abstain from casting your votes. Think about it.

If you can find another party to vote for please let us know; but we have long memories and know it was the Conservatives - especially Maria Miller and Justine Greening - who pushed for self ID in the first place.

@PronounssheRa I hope so, I sometimes worry and get a bit stressed talking about it, but I had a word with myself. When you think about it, it’s really not controversial, it’s biology. I don’t care if people are trans, but I do care if they try to dismantle women and our rights while in pursuit of validation.

@TheInebriati the Conservative party does not require its members to endorse 'TWAW'. It is shocking how far Theresa May let herself be influenced...I think you will find Justine Greening is no longer an MP. I am fairly sure that Boris Johnson for all his faults knows what a biological woman is.

Entirely possible, but when they mangle language it makes them sound foolish.

I do hope Emily's cousin is 'out' to the wider world, its pretty poor form from Emily to disclose this information so publicly.
