We must have a tolerent debate.... Trans community are the most marginalised community of all

....and 'Only women have a cervix' is, "Something that should not be said."

@7H9g5Kj

The letter by Jean is so powerful. You can sense her fury so clearly. Very well written.
Agreed
Crankyoldboiler · 26/09/2021 22:47

I think "Keri" has a kind of ironic truth to it as a name for the high priest of Labour wokedom who tell us we cannot even talk about what defines us as biological women.

littlbrowndog · 26/09/2021 22:51

We all know it

littlbrowndog · 26/09/2021 22:54

Jean stands up for murdered women.

Never forget 😥😥

I’m totally with Carole. China in your hands is a cracking tune too.
WouldBeGood · 26/09/2021 23:00

@ElizabethTudor takes me back to my youth 😃

[quote Imnobody4]Jean Hatchet has written an excoriating open letter to KS.

Such an eloquent Hatchet job. I've sent that to DH.

PickAChew · 26/09/2021 23:13

Carol Decker has already had grief, recently for insisting that Welsh is a foreign language so she was probably going to be guaranteed a pasting for expressing any views at all about anything gender related, simply because there would be people ready to pounce.

Datun · 27/09/2021 00:36

Bloody hell Jean Hatchet, that is a colossus of a letter. And I agree with every furious, enraged syllable.

Olderbadger1 · 27/09/2021 00:41

Brilliant letter Jean Hatchet. I'm with you all the way.

Ditto Carole - somewhat less eloquent but exquisitely to the point.

I'm beyond angry. And the Welsh woksters will be rubbing their little hands with glee. Open season on misogyny in the Labour Party.

FOJN · 27/09/2021 05:37

Maria MacLachlan"s take on the interview. I'm always feels like I've watched a well planned and delivered lecture after watching Maria, she's so coherent.

Joystir59 · 27/09/2021 06:46

I will still vote Labour. We need the Tories out. We need the NHS and the Tories are stealing it from us. I can't stand Keir Starmer. But ..

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2021 07:26

We also need women's rights. So I can't vote Labour.

Tinpotspectator · 27/09/2021 07:51

I'm troubled by what's been happening. I don't want trans people discriminated against but I'm never in this world going to pretend that they have a cervix, or that they are actual women. But I'd happily eat dinner with one.

I am troubled that Rosy Duffield says she has been threatened by activists-that's no way to do politics, and it's a shame in the party if it is true. Although I'd like to see the detail, as it's so hard to trust what politicians say these days.

Don't kid yourself that Labour is a safe pair of hands for the NHS, yes they might throw more money at it but they never address the actual issues. Also it was Labour that saddled NHS trusts with PFI contracts
Tinpotspectator · 27/09/2021 07:52

I'd still vote labour, although I think their leader is a donkey.

Not only is it true, but you'll be able to see the evidence of it on Twitter if you search her name.

SpindleWorld · 27/09/2021 08:30

That Times article linked by @Igneococcus is interesting.

The writer Eleni C says that Javid 'contradicted' NHS advice with his tweet because the NHS tells trans men to go for cervical smear tests. But Javid doesn't contradict it at all, because he would appear to believe that trans men are women, a belief he is legally entitled to hold. It a further position which is biologically correct, as one would expect of the Health Secretary.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/09/2021 08:34

Yes, @SpindleWorld, I clocked that and was a bit Hmm about the writer's beliefs.

Javid's Twitter feed was full of TRAs in response!

Tanith · 27/09/2021 09:13

Just waiting confidently for the short film to clarify the statements, correct misunderstandings and reassure women, as they did for trans activists...

...and waiting...

Jaysmith71 · 27/09/2021 09:23

Well, first they came for the jews, and now they're coming for the women.

Who's Next?
