I haven’t seen another thread on this today and I know she must be on here - thank you Rosie!

Rosie on Twitter today:

twitter.com/rosieduffield1/status/1436276236049862661?s=21

Hope that’s a clicky link.

Despite the hate you may be getting Rosie, there is a legion behind you!

@Lettera

Keir Starmer's failure to support Rosie Duffield is absolutely shameful. Disgusting that it has fallen to the Speaker to raise concerns.

Well, according to the article he sent a text. So, you know. He's not completely abandoned one of his MPs when she is receiving terrible threats and abuse. If it gets any worse he might even WhatsApp her and then they'll be jolly well sorry.

Apologies, Arabella, I overlooked the text. I'm sure that reassured Rosie that she has her party leader's fullest support.

@Waitwhat23

I've managed to see one comment and it's rather cheering -

'Patrick Jolly

Owen Jones is a craven disgrace!

And Rosie Duffield is perfectly entitled to speak her views in an open society.

Shame on the white male misogynists.
(Edited)'

Patrick has posted two more times,

Lots of recommends…. Anyone else want to put their names down too, with their opinions or thoughts on this issue? 😁

He realises no one else seems able to reply.
What a shit show. Hopefully the times will go to a different moderating model soon.

I'm still not hopeful that at any point he'll stand up with a cardboard sign declaring, Down with this sort of thing.

Hopeless Starmer doesn't need to be sending texts! He needs to employ as many security guards to ensure that all his MPs are safe to attend conference and remove the passes for every single member (including the misogynists in the Lords) who has issued verbal, physical, sexual or death threats towards any MP or woman. Or condoned them.

Until he finds his moral compass and evidently lacking personal courage the party will continue to be a dangerous place for woman.

A tale of two female politicians:

Liz Truss speaking on
@NickFerrariLBC

"Women do have vaginas, Nick."
//www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/nick-ferrari/liz-truss-defends-student-who-faces-disciplinary-action-for-saying-women-have-va/

Boris Johnson promotes Liz Truss to Foreign Secretary.

In response to an American cancer society's tweet about screening for individuals (sic) with a cervix, Piers Morgan tweets 'Do you mean women?' which Rosie Duffield had the temerity to like, causing a pile on...
Rosie Duffield then tweeted "I'm a 'transphobe' for knowing that only women have a cervix...?!"

www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/rosie-duffield-labour-mp-cervix-women-backlash-a4514321.html

For this - and because she won't capitulate - Rosie Duffield can't attend her own party conference because her party leader, Keir Starmer, never steps in to defend her from those who troll her from within the party and she considers her physical safety to be at risk.

So ridiculously depressing that, in 2021, the current Labour Party has seemingly no grasp of class analysis and pretends not to know what a woman is and will not move to provide safety for a female MP - and yet they expect women to vote for them. No thank you.

Wow they’ve changed the headline, calling these vile people “extremists”. Very pleased to see it. I wonder what it says in the print version?
Apologies I can’t seem to be able to do a link but this is the HL now.

Thanks Ignecoccus, very pleased robust language is being used to describe these people. Rosie is indeed being terrorised.

Hell of a lot of comments on the Times article criticising her use of the phrase 'white straight men' and missing the point entirely 🙄. Some great comments though, including some recommendations for 'Trans'.

I can definitely see the current push by TRA's to cover their backs against the rapidly coming backlash - a few comments of 'most sides must be respected and considered' with no other substance and comment. I've started to see it filter through some online things - it's the pre-emptive rewriting of history so that all the 'die in a grease fire' stuff can be brushed under the carpet.

Just watched Sadiq Khan on Andrew Marr - AM asked if people who believe 'only women have a cervix' are welcome at the Labour Party conference. SK said yes, everyone is welcome but debate just be respectful!

AM then said 'I'm not taking sides' - fucking coward.

Comments are fantastic. People are fucking furious, I can't believe that Labour are ignoring the vast majority of the populace and electorate to appease some extremist factions.

Do you mean SK said he wouldn’t be taking sides?
AM shouldn’t be taking sides, his job as a political interviewer is to let both sides have their say and press them where necessary.

I'm pleased the headline on that article changed, extremists is exactly what the people abusing Rosie Duffield and any woman who disagrees with them are, they should be treated the same as terrorists.

The comments on that article are many, there were over 900 when I last looked and the overwhelming majority of them are furious that this is happening.

Jo March is being her usual brilliant self.

Enough. It's time to sort out these TRAs, find them, charge them and get them in front of the Courts of the Judiciary and the Public, let's see how brave they are when they cannot hide behind their anonymity.

Any of those abusing Rosie and are found to hold membership of the Labour Party should have their membership rescinded immediately and be barred from ever joining again.
