I haven’t seen another thread on this today and I know she must be on here - thank you Rosie!

Hope that’s a clicky link.

@RedDogsBeg

I think she is trans phobic, because she seems to equate access of trans women to women's spaces (which is legal now) as inherently dangerous.

It was certainly fucking dangerous for the 10 and 12 year old victims of Katie Dolatowski, who threatened them with a knife before sexually assaulting them and that was under the present system. Your view that you don't think it will be even easier under the reforms would be laughable if it wasn't so contemptible.

Yup. Fucking dangerous for the female inmates that are now locked up with and are being sexually assaulted by the tw sex offenders who are legally in their spaces, too.

And Katie Dolatowski was placed in a 'female only' hostel despite sexually assaulting young girls -

Did you complain to the shop staff/leisure centre staff about complete strangers throwing things at you?! shock

My classmate. No, we did not complain. She was embarrassed, but the girls rallied round her each time.e

How shocking for your friend. And shocking because I have never come across this before. Anyone else ever seen a women/female experiencing this behaviour? If I see a short-haired flat-chested person I can tell if they are male or female by their body shape and language once they have reached puberty. Weird for your friend.

it's not the only time this has happened though - there are a number of NGC women chronicling their experiences and it happens to them almost daily.

WHY can anyone assault anyone in prison? Why don't we change the prisons? Most assaults will happen by cis individuals. Why are assaults happening at all?

Have just seen that Rosie Duffield will be missing the labour conference because of security concerns. Am sure Keir Starmer will be vocal in his condemnation against all the abuse and aggression she’s received.

No such thing as cis individuals.

Assaults in the female prison estate were lower than low and certainly no incidents of rape until they started putting TW in there (or more accurately men who claim they are TW). The change to prison accommodation changed the levels of assault, so there you go a change to accommodate the ideology you support has directly and detrimentally impacted in women, but of course you will never accept that because women and their safety are an anathema to you.

Yeah, women can be assaulted by other women in prison anyway so what's wrong with adding to the problem by inviting convicted rapists and male sex offenders to join in?

Hmm

Ignoring the sealion, and back to the original point of the OP - ie a Rosie Duffield appreciation thread - Thank you Rosie, as a constituent of yours, you have my full support. In this current climate you are a very brave woman. Especially as you will know standing up for women, and their rights, is likely to cost you dear, in terms of votes, in the university constituency you represent. How very different to the motivations of Ben Fitter-Harding, so desperate to get ahead that, despite being gay and probably having been on the receiving end of homophobia many times in his life, he still aligned himself with an MP that consistently, and openly, opposed equal rights for gay and lesbian people. He has zero integrity. But I guess this swipe is worth it to him, at least it deflects attention from his woeful inadequacies in the job for a while.

Then why do you want to make it easier for male prisoners to assault female prisoners ?

@CatherinaJTV - each time? So every time your ‘classmate’ entered a changing room she had things thrown at her? Did this happen in more than one place or in many places? And it happened everyone every-time she went to this/these places? And what exactly do you mean things thrown at her - what things? And why would this be? Wouldn’t it be the usual experience of being spoken to first before being attacked with things being thrown at her? Hmm
Actual ‘literal’ violence.

Yes, all credit to Rosie Duffield for speaking out and standing by her words, it takes strength to do so when under such relentless attack. How telling that Rosie cannot attend the Labour Conference due to security concerns. What was that about both sides and be kind again?

How many women are going to require a security detail when attending Labour conferences before Kier wakes up and smells the misogynist coffee his party is brewing?

It certainly is, the Labour Party should hang their heads in shame, it was bad enough that women MP's and a BBC reporter required a security detail but to sink to the point where even that would not be enough is, as you say, appalling.

If women MPs aren't safe at conference are any women safe? Maybe the conference needs to be cancelled until the LP have removed the toxic misogynists who are threat to women? Just a thought.

I agree - the conference should be cancelled if their female MPs aren't safe. That should be a no-brainer and says a lot about the party that the conference is going ahead, despite the lack of safety for women.

These are the kind of tough questions Keir Starmer should be asked - why is your conference not considered safe for an elected member of Parliament to attend? What are you going to do about it?
