This is one of the documents for the current consultation about the new LGBTQ+ Action Plan.

I decided to look at the easy read version and the young people's version since the standard version didn't seem to have any kind of glossary about the terms used. The easy read version does, but some of the definitions, like this one, don't make sense. The young people's version, like the standard version, has no glossary.

In a consultation about LGBTQ+ people, the Welsh Government appears to be unable to define clearly what terms like 'transgender', 'gender identity' and 'non-binary' actually mean.

I get that this is the easy read version, but it names gender as a protected characteristic (although does include sex, so that's something)

It's embarrassing to see this sort of rubbish being produced by a government. And it shows just how untouchable this ideology is that nobody dares point out incoherent drivel self identifying as legal facts.

It seems that people are unhappy with the idea of gender identity. They now want to completely erase the meaning of what sex is, much to to the detriment of women. Also, is that statement in line with the Equality Act?

These are sexual orientations. The sex of the people you are attracted to. It's nothing to do with having sex although that may be part of your life. This has been completely changed and it pisses me off.

How does that work with medicine, exactly? It doesn't does it, because you can't wish away material reality. I just have to question the effect this is having on young girls. I just see this as gaslighting on an unbelievable scale. It's cult-like.

I assume they don't think that out outward bodily appearance is some kind of shell, like a costume?? I think what they want to say is 'may be a woman psychologically' or 'may be have a female soul'....but they don't actually want to come out and say that because it would inspire to many questions that they would then have to spend some time silencing or shouting down.

If our outside body she’ll can hide a person of the opposite sex, why could it not hide another species, or another age of human - or indeed anything we want.

I thought this was a problem with identity politics, but it’s actually the whole point of it - you are what you say you are, be that the opposite sex, an elf, a toddler, a wolf, and anyone who questions you or expresses disbelief is just being horrid.
