Well it's all kicking off at the spa. An amazing woman behind the desk standing up for women and telling a man where to take his penis. I fear she will lose her job over this but it's a glorious way to go.

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2021 18:04

Reading threads like this makes me more determined

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 07/07/2021 18:12

It IS changing. Slowly, slowly, slowly.

I think the Olympics could be key. Once you understand that TW are different to female people then the whole thing crumbles. Hopefully, at some point, you also realise that you never hear about TM and wonder why on earth that might be...

FloralBunting · 07/07/2021 18:15

Floral, if I'd heard this in person I'd give you a standing ovation.

Maybe one day I'll go to one of the rallies and read some of this stuff out.Grin

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2021 18:15

Do it 🌟🌟

GrinitchSpinach · 07/07/2021 18:20

@littlbrowndog

Do it 🌟🌟
Yes, do it!
FloralBunting · 07/07/2021 18:30

Seems so long ago I was a lesbian on a chair. Good times.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 07/07/2021 18:31

You weren’t also... eating pizza were you? 😱

littlbrowndog · 07/07/2021 18:32

Bet you was eating pizza at the same time 🤣🤣🤣

I wonder how many of these people would be pleased to receive unsolicited dick pics?

They're the ones who send the unsolicited dick pics.
FloralBunting · 07/07/2021 18:44

🍕

Etorih · 07/07/2021 18:46

Its dangerous to sit on chairs.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 07/07/2021 18:54

More dangerous getting hauled off one by the polis...

Etorih · 07/07/2021 18:56

That's the biggest risk with chairs. People trying to drag you off of them because they don't think you have a right to sit on them.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 07/07/2021 20:27

There’s a lot to be said for superglue...

TidyStewart · 07/07/2021 20:30

As a Stewart for Extinction rebellion, can I recommend laying off the superglue if you're sitting on public transport? It's a right sod to scrape off the remnants of your branded Levis when the police move you on.

Its interesting that it is almost excusively black, latino and asian americans that are trying to push back.

dyslek · 07/07/2021 21:17

It just outlines how this is a movement for privilaged white men and women.

White women on the whole have more to lose? Their circles are much more harsh on any dissent?

Or just used to accepting/ capitulating to what men want them to be?

Dunno.

When I was ill I found that it was black men and women who would ask if I was ok. And they are not a huge demographic in my part of the world.

Maybe if you've had loads of shit you feel more inclined to help others? Religion? I totally accept I have no idea. It was s very obvious phenomenon.

SpindleWhorl · 07/07/2021 21:36

It's the new intersectionality. Their white privilege intersects with their class privilege and their indifference privilege.

SpindleWhorl · 07/07/2021 21:38

I think a lot of the middle class white women are 'trauma bonding' into this, @NiceGerbil - there are four types, fight, flght, freeze and fawning.

NiceGerbil · 07/07/2021 21:43

I think a lot are scared yes.

I don't say what I think in public.
Women are worried about their jobs their reputations.
About online abuse and threats.
About the safety of their families even.

And yes some of it is just don't care.

See how many female politicians look terrified when asked the question.

Delphinium20 · 07/07/2021 21:44

Don't forget that of the TRAs, a large amount are white men. So they share the same circles as white women.
