Apologies, I don't have a Telegraph subscription so can't read the full article but the bones of it from Twitter are that Ofsted have LEFT Stonewall.

Hopefully this is the beginning on the end of the gender ideology in our schools.

@KaptainKaveman

Can anyone please explain why the word "mother" is considered offensive?
some fathers give birth dontcha know

or some such similarly biology denying nonsense

AlfonsoTheMango · 05/06/2021 08:58

Huzzah! Another brick in the wall.

Nonmaquillee · 05/06/2021 08:58

Marvellous wonderful news!!

KaptainKaveman · 05/06/2021 09:01

How can a father give birth? Confused

FOJN · 05/06/2021 09:03

It appears they do know the protected characteristic is gender reassignment and not gender identity. Its clear it was a strategic decision to misrepresent the EA. I don't think they've left the government much choice but to withdraw from the scheme entirely, they cannot be seen to endorse a charity which thinks it can rewrite the law.

Agree with PP it's a protection racket and the email makes them look really sinister.

ask Freddy McConnell

of course Freddy is a mother and the courts agree, although Freddy doesn't

Stonewall encouraging people to get ahead of the law again innit?

NotTerfNorCis · 05/06/2021 09:06

Fantastic news.

They should never have been teaching little kids that 'your gender might not match your body'. It's dangerous stuff.

maslinpan · 05/06/2021 09:08

How long before the NHS follow suit?

highame · 05/06/2021 09:15

I am a bit amused by the fact that at the start of Pride month where all and sundry are going OTT with their support, only to find Stonewall at the beginning of a widely reported scandal.

Now I want to make clear I am anti the war on women, I am not anti-gay or trans and hope that when we have defeated this madness, our opinion will be sought on how best to protect trans people, instead of the stealth used to step on our rights.

PatsArrow · 05/06/2021 09:16

I think most big Gov Depts will leave next week (of the next). Once the DofE abd Dept of Health goes.....I think the NHS will follow soon after.

If the NHS go that will be truly massive. It’s the largest employer in the UK and has been awash with TWAW/ people with cervixes nonsense for a long time now.

A lot depends on whether the government dues pull all the government departments out of it. If f dept of health goes, can’t see they’ll kindly on NHS bodies staying plus the treasurery which is always under pressure to give more to the NHS will be saying “and foe much are you spending on the stonewall scheme?”

MiladyBerserko · 05/06/2021 09:26

The problem is that the NHS is not a single thing, and it is devolved n Scotland so it won't be a single decision. And ScotGov are full on gender ideologues

Erikrie · 05/06/2021 09:27

This is fabulous news.

borntobequiet · 05/06/2021 09:30

Nothing but a protection racket

This

It’s not just dangerous - it’s nonsensical.

The whole concept of the scheme is bonkers and doesn’t recognise the basic concept of conflicting rights.

Stonewall, Mermaids et al still seem unwilling or unable able to get to grips with the reasons why feminists are concerned.

nothingcomestonothing · 05/06/2021 09:30

Shock that article has made my weekend, thanks for the share token and archive. SSA quoted without any caveat that they might be hateful bigots, Stonewall again described as controversial - how things change.

Paralithic · 05/06/2021 09:30

Doesn’t that Telegraph article say that NHS Highland has left Stonewall’s clutches scheme?

Meanwhile, more public bodies have quit Stonewall’s diversity scheme. They include the Post Office, NHS Highland, Swim England, three police forces and several councils.

I know my county council had left and I’m delighted that SwimEngland has too.

Nonmaquillee · 05/06/2021 09:32

This thread has reminded me to buy one of those fabulous bags from the adulthumanfemale store.

Can’t wait to receive it.

I’d love to go to Scotland and walk around with it.

SpindleWhorl · 05/06/2021 09:34

Good.

InvisibleDragon · 05/06/2021 09:34

I really hope the NHS leaves. The current policies about accommodating trans women on women's wards (including mental health wards) as the default position are very harmful and risky.

FannyCann · 05/06/2021 09:35

I have to wear rainbow colours in this month!

Is that confined to a rainbow lanyard @PreservativeFree or do you have to go the whole hog and dress like a clown?

I'd just forget/lose the lanyard. Or get a colourful one supporting a different issue, like the sunflower lanyards which support hidden disabilities?

Ofsted have left Stonewall
MrsOvertonsWindow · 05/06/2021 09:38

@PreservativeFree

I work in a school that supports Stonewall. I have to wear rainbow colours in this month! I've tried a couple of times to explain that it might not be a good idea and the reaction is always that I must be a bigot who doesn't support inclusion.

I know I should be able to put a decent argument together, but I've really struggled. Can anyone point me in the direction of a really straightforward summary of what the objections are?

Here you are PreservativeFree Safe Schools Alliance have lots of useful resources: safeschoolsallianceuk.net/resources-2/letter-templates/

Transgender Trend also have numerous resources including a letter for parents to use about the inappropriateness of Stonewall in schools:
