Apologies, I don't have a Telegraph subscription so can't read the full article but the bones of it from Twitter are that Ofsted have LEFT Stonewall.

Hopefully this is the beginning on the end of the gender ideology in our schools.

Good, this organisation is aggressive and political. It has no place in employers business and certainly not in schools where they are hell bent into pushing their warped ideology onto children. They are dangerous and need to be stopped. Now that Ofsted have left, let’s hope schools follow suit, I shall certainly be asking our school why they are championing them now.

Howzaboutye · 07/06/2021 07:36

MoJ leaving, confirmed in the Times this morning.

SpindleWhorl · 07/06/2021 07:45

Schools need to keep Gendered Intelligence out too, imo. Gendered Intelligence are behind a lot of Stonewall's 'losing its way'.

I’ve had a reply from Waitrose:

“Thanks for taking the time to get in touch.

We regularly review our participation in schemes run by various external organisations to make sure they continue to align with the values of the John Lewis Partnership and support the aims of our five-year Partnership Plan.

Stonewall would be no different. Our priority has always been and always will be to ensure all of our Partners and customers feel safe and secure working and shopping with us. We also have our own policies and procedures in place to ensure this.

Thanks again for your email.

Take care.”

PerditaCambellBlack · 07/06/2021 09:33

Obfuscation really, it is a meaningless reply.

Funnily enough, a few days ago I was looking for a fancy accent chair and saw one on John Lewis on the JL app, and I intended to buy the (expensive) chair, but the inescapable rainbow flag over the JL Logo on the app/website was so distractingly irritating, given that it now stands for nothing more than a big "Fuck You" to women, that I decided I would get the chair elsewhere.
PerditaCambellBlack · 07/06/2021 09:43

Yes, @PearPickingPorky I’m going to start ordering my groceries from elsewhere and I’ll stop using JL too. They can FTFO frankly, my cash is going elsewhere.

Hahaha that’s a pathetic response from John Lewis. I’m sure he’ll be able to tell a exactly what policies they have in place to ensure women feel safe.

Honestly the contempt these companies have for women is unbelievable

Howzaboutye · 07/06/2021 18:03

I was in JL at the weekend. The fitting rooms are just called 'fitting rooms'. No men's or women's.
I had a good old check for hidden camera. You would think they would be desperate for their female customers to be back in store trying on clothes & buying them. What's our alternative- ASOS not JL. JL you lose. If you don't listen to your customers then you will lose them and close down. Please listen

PerditaCambellBlack · 07/06/2021 18:06

Contempt for women is right
I have had a long relationship with JL and Waitrose but it’s over

FannyCann · 07/06/2021 18:58

Take care, and have a pleasant evening.

Is that the new "Go well"?

Contemptuous and contemptible.

MaudTheInvincible · 07/06/2021 20:47

Our priority has always been and always will be to ensure all of our Partners and customers feel safe and secure working and shopping with us.

Except for women. JL don't appear to be at all interested in ensuring women feel safe and secure working and shopping with them, judging by that mealy mouthed response. What a shame; I quite liked John Lewis.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 07/06/2021 21:30

This is even better than the Beeb dropping Mermaids last summer. And shortly ahead of the Bell case, was that a coincidence?

I too am at a loss to understand how grown adults dressing up as Rod, Jane and Freddy (not that Freddy, incidentally) is doing anything to support LGB people. I was ardently pro gay marriage and wholeheartedly supported equality of rights regardless of who people sleep with. But as a 'B' I've always been the invisible letter in Stonewall's umbrella, anyway.

They are a divisive, toxic organisation and one I'd never support. And I never thought I'd be tempted to go outside and perform my happy dance on learning the news that they've been dropped by OfSted and the MOJ. They started off doing good things. It's unfortunate.

I won’t be shopping there any more now. Thank you for posting this.

Wow - I didn't realise that John Lewis and Waitrose are so anti-female!

This seems strange and lacking consideration of those who actually shop with them (or used to).

Xenia · 13/08/2022 17:17

Women's rights have always come below a lot of other rights like trans rights, racism etc. We are bottom of the pile.
