Trans lesbian?

My first ever post on this board. Long time reader, and have found it highly educational. Thank you everyone.

There is a pullout in today's Guardian about influential lesbians. Cameos and longer pieces. One of the longer pieces is an interview with a "trans lesbian."

AIBUin thinking that's a bit odd?

Most 'transwomen' start as straight men. Sexuality doesn't change, even if they say their gender has. So if they then decide they're a 'woman' then logically the only option is for them to be a 'lesbian'.

But there's no need for any confusion= they're still straight men, whatever they call themselves.

As a lesbian I find it unspeakably offensive to be told that I'm same-gender attracted. I have been exclusively same-sex attracted for longer than a lot of the blue-haired brigade have been alive. And no amount of them chewing up words and spitting them out to mean something different will ever, ever, ever, make me attracted to a male person. I don't care what he calls himself, and I don't care what hormones or surgery he's had. I am, remain and always will be same sex attracted.
So 'translesbians' can stay away please.

The more interesting question is why so many are only interested in having relationships with female, same sex attracted women. After all if they want to have a relationship with a woman, there are a great deal more straight women out there to choose from. But that apparently isn't enough.

You have to ask yourself what is really going on when they demand the right to have sex with unwilling women. (I'm sure there's a word for that!)
Women who say they have the right to be same sex attracted are abused as 'transphobic bigots' (and worse). And those abusers get called stunning and brave.
But imo male 'lesbians' who try to deny the existence of same sex attraction in order to force lesbian women into having unwanted sex with them are in reality misogynist homophobes.
History is full of men finding reasons why they have the right to have sex with women who don't want it. This is just the latest iteration.
