I should have said the performance ive read about where Bowery (as himself) simulated giving birth to Nicola Bateman. The sausages and umbilical cord chewing is what I'm scared of.

It did make me laugh, but his balaclava face is soooooo unsettling- I guess that's the point though!

jj has also failed to address the issues of dignity and privacy for women on this thread. Including those of a religion that are then excluded. Although there has been posters who have reminded us that these women should sort their shit out and stop belonging to that religion. (Hint: there is probably a larger proportion of these women than we think that cannot just magically leave these religions.)

By jj’s own logic, there’s nothing stopping TW from choosing to stop manifesting their belief that you can be born in the wrong body, that gender is a real thing (not socially constructed) and that you can change sex and reverting to male presentation, names and socialisation so they can safely use the men’s facilities*. See, two can play that game.

Having dipped into the thread re loo on Californian road trip with a DD, I'd imagine a lot of tourists - often families and very often older people - would be absolutely delighted to be assured of a mix of single sex and properly designed any sex loos.

Because Chilling, the 50 GC women in the world on FWR are single handedly responsible for the collapse of the tourist industry, the pandemic, Trump and every single right wing politician in the world. And men self identifying as women have been sharing women's toilets for centuries and none of us have ever noticed.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone saying single sex toilets based on birth sex are bad for women (my own fairly short term experience excepted)

Because of how they would have to be policed. If you read that autostraddle piece there's lots of women in the comments talking about pushing their chests out and trying to look feminine when using women's toilets because they are worried about being accused of being men. Basically any woman who doesn't immediately pass as a women to every single person all of the time could face harassment and if toilet access was regulated by statute potentially arrest, or being thrown out.

But also a lot of people especially in the states saw bathroom bills as a canary in a coalmine. Let's face it, it's likely to be quite a right ring government that would impose laws like that, and if they get away with that then what's next? It's not something that's likely to be good for women.

Also it would almost certainly reduce toilet provision. Why would a business provide toilets if they were at risk of being sued/prosecuted if someone with the wrong genitals were to use them. Who needs that hassle when trying to run a business? So lot of toilets in shops and other places would be likely to go.

Indeed, upholding the current protocols for single sex facilities, means that this country will become a 'global pariah'.

No trans person, or their family or friends would ever visit.

Half the fashion industry, entertainment business, and technical profession would all leave their jobs and relocate to another country. And it's almost too difficult to imagine the catastrophic repercussions of the government's 'guaranteed access to female-only lavatories in public buildings'.
