I’ve checked as much as I can and apparently Jameela Jamil and Josie Long (I’m not sure who she is but lots of followers) have deleted their tweets supporting Mermaids. Jameela also seems to have removed her unpleasant tweet(s) to JK Roeling (I don’t think I’ve missed them on the searches) An interesting development.

I used to listen to Book Shambles with her and Robin Ince, but it grates on me as for all she likes to aspire to being a vocal feminist and he likes to make himself out to be such a supporter of women there was a clear difference when he spoke to (or over) JL than when he chatted with male guests. And JL seemed to accept this as if this was the natural order of things. It all felt a bit like “run, Josie! Get away while you can!”

Deborah Frances-White has definitely lived up to her "Guilty Feminist" name. I couldn't listen to that podcast after they went all TWAW, it negated anything good or funny that they said.

Same. Recently had to give up on The High Low too for similar TWAW reasons.

Was going to say Josie long on radio 4 when she does short cuts and appears on the infinite monkey cage. Uuuuurrrrgggh. Her "I'm so twee and lovable" thing has driven me insane for a long time but I really lost the plot when she started cropping up on radio 4. Her and Grace Dent, both present logic-free, over-emoting breathy right-on twaddle. I didn't know JL was a trans ally as I avoid her but of course it's no surprise. That kind of indie, girlie right-on-ness that is actually all about being a manic pixie dream girl to appeal to men, while not having a clue about actual pro-women feminism.

And yes I am a bitch but still, I'll support both Jameela and Josie if they start actually standing up for women.

I tagged Kids Company soon after I became aware of them. The giggangooly approach, teary eyed approach, the attitude of them being ‘saviours’ just didn’t feel like they had a thought out, sensible, long term plan for their ‘customers’. It felt it was more about them feeling good about themselves for helping ‘poor waifs and strays’. I soon learned that to question them was like saying ‘I drown kittens for fun’.

I seem to remember the house of cards collapsed bloody quickly.

I don't think so. The thing that ended KC was running out of money, that was the moment when it became clear they did almost nothing beyond acting as a money firehose. Mermaids is very well funded and while that continues, the existential threat will be a big children and safeguarding scandal but I don't think a growing awareness that things are awry will do it.

That’s why when the kid comes off that can of worms it will be a million tones more spectacular. Or maybe I mean tin of fireworks?

What with this wibble and today's ridiculously over-hammy Archers monologue featuring Adam, I must hie me over to Times Radio asap.

I don't even care about JJ anymore. She just follows the mood and lives in a bit of a privileged fantasy world where she embellishes stories significantly to suit her purposes, IMO.

JL was really digging her heels in around the JKR stuff very recently so I would be extremely surprised if there had been any real change of heart.

Actually, I'm waiting for Emma Watson to back pedal because she has been so vocal about supporting them. I'll celebrate when that happens.

I find Josie Long v irritating and am ambivalent when it comes to JJ. I have no interest in what she has to say.

Christ almighty, imagine googling yourself or searching for mentions like that. As the Dowager Countess Lady Violet might say, the sheer misplaced self-importance, the vanity, the idleness!

I tend to think of the whole thing as a sparkly trojan horse. Get taken in by the sparkles, let it in through the gates, then watch all hell break forth from its bowels.

Sparkles = we are whatever we feel like! We should have the right to identify as such! Gender fluidity! Acceptance and love! Hurrah!

Hell = YES I am 'biologically' a middle aged man but I identify as a 9 year old girl that likes boys. Age fluidity! It's how I feel and if I as a 9 year old girl can have sexual feelings so can those who are biologically 9! Give children their right to sexual freedom!

Or a hypnotist sparkly horse.
