Jameela and Josie backing away

I’ve checked as much as I can and apparently Jameela Jamil and Josie Long (I’m not sure who she is but lots of followers) have deleted their tweets supporting Mermaids. Jameela also seems to have removed her unpleasant tweet(s) to JK Roeling (I don’t think I’ve missed them on the searches) An interesting development.

So, Sofie feels a fraud using toilets for females. Does that mean Sofie uses the toilets for males now?

It was so precious. Trousers are a statement and dresses make Sofie sick. How special and significant. In many countries, males wear a dress like garment. In the past males all over the world have worn a dress like garment. It is just a bit of cloth. If Sofie uses it as a huge statement of not being a woman like other women, does this have to be applied to other women. I haven't worn a dress for a while. Is it ok for me to wear jeans and shorts without other implications? Or maybe it is just that Sofie is so much more special.

And in Schitt's Creek, David (who took the ‘bride’ role) wore a gorgeous suit with a kilt when he married Patrick, so that’d blow some minds 🙄

I’m pretty sure while a kilt has a pretty name and is traditionally worn by men, it looks like a skirt to me.

@SerenityNowwwww I hope she does back away and has a change of heart, she blocked me for linking to her thread an article about a 15 year old detranisitioner in america who had ha a double mastectomy but was later diagnosed with autism. So much for be kind.

Sorry to resurrect a "zombie" thread.

Do we now have the answer to OP's question?

And the answer is that Jameela Jamil et al were busy deleting any references to Mermaids but specifically any mention of BORN IN THE WRONG BODY?

If so they had really advanced warning about all this back in early August, didn't they? All a bit 1984 this removal of inconvenient slogans...

I think Josie was on a podcast with Owen Jones three days ago on whatthetrans, there was a break down on the state media twitter account. She hasn’t changed her opinions what so ever.

NewlyGranny · 27/09/2020 09:59

I will have time, attention and a sympathetic ear (the left one) for family, friends and celebs, too, who are upfront and own their past opinions and abusive comments and express regret, but none for anyone who weasels around pretending it never happened and wasn't them and their words were misinterpreted and never harmed anyone anyway and their targets were just being oversensitive.

Looking at the HP actors who owe so much to JKR.

gardenbird48 · 27/09/2020 10:05

Good point Butcher - she clearly hasn’t changed her viewpoint but wanted to remove that evidence - maybe she’s got some lawyer friends?
I wonder if everyone got the memo though - I have found one high profile person who argues strongly against ‘conversion therapy’ for trans people and shared the Teen Vogue article ‘Non affirming Therapists Endanger Trans Youth’ - that article is absolutely shocking!

I suppose what I'm really curious about is how the "deleters" had so much advance warning and who warned them.

The rest of us only found out this week about the volte-face.

Is there an inner circle of nitwits?

NewlyGranny · 27/09/2020 12:25

Well, there's clearly an outer circle!

Imagine being one of the allies, hearing yourself recite the mantra, wondering where all the other voices are and realising you're all alone now and the people you were allying yourself to are all looking smug because they've had notice to clean up their Twitter history and modify their utterances. Notice that you didn't get.

CitizenFame · 27/09/2020 12:29

Just a theory but could it have been the group themselves that asked the “deleters” to remove references to being born in the wrong body, to “clean up” (not that it worked, with the amount of screenshots and archives saved but it makes more sense to me than a secret group where they are privy to information first, especially since said group have done a 180 and claiming that was never said/meant)?
