Jameela and Josie backing away

I’ve checked as much as I can and apparently Jameela Jamil and Josie Long (I’m not sure who she is but lots of followers) have deleted their tweets supporting Mermaids. Jameela also seems to have removed her unpleasant tweet(s) to JK Roeling (I don’t think I’ve missed them on the searches) An interesting development.

Just had a nosey JJ's insta has cleared off any mermaids reference. Just the odd trans post

Josie Long is so woke I'm surprised she can function in the real world. I used to be a fan but this constant navel gazing while ignoring the ingrained oppression of women we see and live with everyday just pissed me right off.

@JamieLeeCurtains I know, how full of yourself do you have to be to do that. We're not Following each other so it's not like any Tweets of mine would show up on her feed, afaik.

I had never heard of Danielle before this thread.

So I clicked on their website and maybe I am totally totally blind but I can see zero pictures of Danielle looking like a woman. In every single photo they are dressed like a gender conforming man.

With this I just go, how can people not see this? How can people say of yes she's a woman. It really is the emporers new clothes.

Jameela has her autobiography coming out soon. Was supposed to be this year but pushed back to next year due to covid. I'd imagine HarperCollins have told her to delete in anticipation of her inevitable shitty PR in 2021.

When I was a child it was well known that if someone lied I would throw a fit. This was especially true if the lie was bloody obvious ie if my sister nicked the last chocolate bar from the sweetie tin and told mum to her face in front of me that I took it, or if another sibling said something stupid like ‘your name isn’t serenity, it’s Bob’ (I was preschool aged I have to admit). They used to gang up and see how angry I could get (my adorable siblings).

Apparently it was called The Rage and had the effect of the Tasmanian Devil. ‘You’re lying - I know you are lying - we both know you are lying - how can you look me on the face and lie like that??????’

I get the same thing these days with this sort of thing.

It's weird. Why would people be suddenly removing any reference to mermaids? What is going on?

Is it really the case that JJ has been removing tweets about Mermaids - if she has deleted ALL tweets prior to June 2020 it could be the case that she just didn't tweet anything about them until now?

There is one from 2019; within the film clip the youth references Jameela messaging regarding - but it has been deleted - but this is 2019?

Double-checked. Apart from 1 tweet she has deleted everything prior to July 1st. Perhaps she does want to wipe the slate clean but I don't think it's just about Mermaids?

I'm a bit conflicted about people like Muscato. On the one hand, not even making any effort to appear to be a woman seems like a pisstake. On the other, trying to somehow "be" a woman by performing stereotyped femininity with hair, heels, make-up, dresses etc does not bring a man any closer to being a woman either IMO. I think what Muscato is doing shows us the logical conclusion of self-ID - any many, however masculine-looking and behaving, just has to say he's a woman and the door is open. And that exposes the idiocy for what it is brilliantly - whether or not that's muscato's intent.

JJ has said that it is not specific, just making her account more 'focused'.

I would bet that her publisher has made her clean up if they are to invest in marketing her book.
