I've mentioned before, I used to be big fan of Josie Long (she was a sort of scrappy indie comedian but has had lots of success in London etc), had supported her (going to all her shows etc) since very early on. Friends of friends are in her 'circle' etc. She had a great mix of childish humour with trying to genuinely be nice, promote mental health etc. Kids came along so I lost touch. Last time I went to one of her gigs Grace Petrie was supporting and no offence to Grace as a person but I find her music absolutely dire and I felt claustrophobic having to listen to it when I'd come to watch a comedy gig.
Anyway I was obviously disappointed to see how anti-women she'd become, or at least very uncritical with her trying to 'include' everyone. Surely any org such as Mermaids set up to work with extremely vulnerable children needs to be held to the highest standards so it's a bit gross to dismiss all criticism of how they operate (may I remind you, one of Mermaids took a trans woman to court to sue them, and it was thrown out, and the Mermaids person did not come off as particularly kind, inclusive or supportive with her comments) as bigoted.
So, now, I'm very interested as to whether she's changed her stance on Mermaids, and if so, why.
Jameela's on another level though!
I found it hilarious in that tweet in Kantastic's post she responds to Danielle Muscato's assertion that "If you think I am less of a woman because I don't fit your mental picture of what a woman "should" looks like you're a bigot"(paraphrased) with "Danielle is a woman, and this is a very old photo of her by the way... she looks nothing like this."
Facepalm because Danielle's whole point is it doesn't matter what Danielle looks like, yet Jameela's desperate to focus on exactly that!
