littlbrowndog I should very much like a journalist to ask Dr Julia Long's three questions to every MP & MSP. Their constituents should know the answers:

Should male child rapists be housed in female or male estate prison?

Should male sex offenders who identify as women have their crimes be recorded as committed by women?

Should women be described as being in a 'hate group' if we ask questions like this [and be expelled from political parties or reprimanded at work]?

Julia Long has just exposed Labour , she has asked the questions Marr should have asked RLB this morning. Once the red tops get hold of this - Nandy is finished - she just ended her career at that hustings.

This will keep going & going. I felt gut punched when I read the 'pledge' but you know what? Best thing - sunlight sunlight sunlight!

I'm going to be very blunt here. This decision, to put rapists in jail with women, isn't just stupid or wrong, it's evil. The people supporting this are actively choosing to put women at risk. They are advocating that women be quite literally locked up with those who have already demonstrated both desire and willingness to do women harm. Even if nothing actually happens other than the convicted rapists occupying that space, that's a terrifying situation to be put in. And frankly the odds of nothing happening don't look great, given the prison system's proven inability to prevent other types of assault or to prevent rape in men's prisons.

It's like dropping a great white shark in the kiddies paddling pool. Anyone advocating for this is a terrible person.

They don't need trans policies for that. It's been policy for a very long time. Locked wards, all manner of diagnoses, with male and female bedrooms open to a central shared space, and has been for decades. Apparently, if very overcrowded, they house people in opposite sex bedrooms, yes. And they do indeed house forensic (criminal) patients nearing the end of their time in prison hospitals alongside girls in hospital for depression. This is from the 1990s. This is from 2018. There was a news story a month or so ago about the rates of sexual assault and rape in mixed sex wards. Hair raising. And yet it's been known for decades.

Nobody cares. They're just women. Common sense indicates that we need psychiatric hospitals, like prisons, to be single sex. But women are expendable. As Nandy goes to some pains to make clear. Apparently, women aren't raped enough in this country. Nandy advocates policy that will make life so much easier for convicted mail rapists, when it comes to accessing highly vulnerable victims. After all, it's so important to be kind.

Women's prisons have mother and baby units. She wants child rapists in them. Mental health of the women? Anyone want to be kind to them? No? Who cares. They're females.

Lisa Nandy is either insane/thick as mince/hates other women to the extent she doesn't care if they are harmed/has large pockets for all the notes someone's stuffing in them.

Thing is, she answered the question honestly. If you believe the literal truth of transwomen are women, then of course a convicted rapist can be housed in a women's prison if that individual's inner belief as self-declared by them is that they're a woman. Transwomen are women doesn't just apply to the gentle, confused, feminine man who's never felt at ease with masculine expectations. It applies to everyone. You can't say (and be loudly applauded for saying) transwomen are women, and then say "ah, but some male-bodied people are dangerous so we'll treat them differently". This needs bringing into the open, especially with the consultation on self-ID in Scotland under way.

The problem is with the ideology, and that's what people need to understand.

This is really scary and frankly makes me sick to the stomach to hear that these women are having to deal with the physical and emotional violence resulting from the decisions of criminally naive politicians.

It is probably good, in the long run, that this is happening, and everyone outside of feminist networks is seeing the conclusions of TWAW. Sunlight, as we say.

But it’s fucking terrible for the Labour Party, and bigger picture therefore fucking terrible for disadvantaged and vulnerable people of all types, of which the women in each are usually the worst hit, because it means a decade or more of Tory rule.
