@Girlananchronism that sounds really sensible tbh. Your relationship with your child needs to come first. Sorry if this is really cackhanded, and you know all about it, but ROGD parents here often mention Bayswater Support Group.

And WPUK meetings offer yellow ribbons to those who can't be photographed. You could maybe attend, to meet other people who feel the same and can offer support? It must be very painful and I'm so sorry.

@SammySmyth I do wonder sometimes if this isn't partly funded by Putin, as the vaccine battles are shown to be. Be interesting if anyone ever checked that our.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 19/02/2020 00:14

I can't speak freely about this to anyone, even my own child who identifies as trans. I'm so scared of losing them that I shut up

I’ve got a gender distressed 13 year old (I won’t use the term ‘trans child’).
There are lots of us here. You are not alone.

I just Mumsnet radicalised a male chum who gave me a lift home. His eyes got so wide when I told him about Karen White. He thought Lisa Nandy was just making empty promises, that I was imagining a dystopian future that won’t ever happen. He didn’t realise women had already been locked in with rapists.

Once you start talking about it, it gets easier and easier. It feels like freedom.

Philip/Pippa Bunce has been the magic key for me. You can almost see the scales falling from people’s eyes when they see the two images side by side and understand what this person is expecting from the world around them.

RubyViolet · 19/02/2020 00:20

We have to be mindful that this is happening, been happening under a Conservative government. Labour are not in power ( thank goodness !!! ...and can’t believe l am saying this, it pains me.)
Everything that is happening now in schools, hospitals, prisons, refuges, mental health, toilets, girl guides etc is happening on their watch.
We can’t lose sight of this and let them off the hook, this is on them.

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:20

I think it pre-dates Putin, the seeds were sown a few decades ago.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/02/2020 00:21

you’re not persuaded that women ought not to be locked up with rapist men?

Seriously, who cares what this person is "persuaded" by?

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:24

We can’t lose sight of this and let them off the hook, this is on them

It really isn't. People have been scared to speak out about anything for years now. You can't criticise anything without a mob of virtue signallers descending on you. Be honest, if Boris Johnson spoke out about this he'd be dogpiled and forced from office - even if everyone knew who was speaking the truth.

It's horrifying.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/02/2020 00:32

The gender identity stuff goes back decades but I'm pretty sure there's already evidence that Russia used it to destabilize and sow dissent in the last US elections at the very least. They didn't come up with it but that doesn't mean they can't or won't use it to undermine the stability of their perceived enemies.

(I realize this sounds barmy, so if anyone has a link to the article where someone laid out the evidence please do post it.)

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:33

What we are being asked to do is express a lie as a truth despite knowing that what we are saying is a lie.

What makes it worse is that we are policing each other.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/02/2020 00:35

Also I suspect that this is basically a test run for some other attempt to force the general population to accept something they know not to be true - an experiment in social control, basically. If this works I don't think it stops there.

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:35

Here is a video of the same thing. It predates the last US election. I'd be greatful if at least one person watched this.

BickerinBrattle · 19/02/2020 00:39

How can it be that “the privacy and dignity” angle won’t wash amongst the very same women who decry sexual harassment?

In the US, female federal prisoners have filed a class action lawsuit because they are being sexually harassed — ie their privacy and dignity violated in a sexually hostile environment — by TW prisoners they’re made to shower with.

More cognitive dissonance amongst the woke.

If you would not stand for your boss insisting on his right to see you naked, why do you think teenage girls should be made to stand for that with teenage males in their school changing rooms, or female prisoners with male prisoners in their showers?

The word at work here is: consent.

And by the way, NO incarcerated female can be considered to have given consent to sexual intercourse: the fact of the incarceration itself creates the conditions of coercion.

There’s a reason why the UN Bangkok Protocols on the treatment of prisoners considers the housing of male prisoners in the female estate a human rights violation for those women.

RubyViolet · 19/02/2020 00:40

SammySmyth, so Boris Johnson is powerless ?The Government don’t have a majority to change anything ?

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:43

The Government don’t have a majority to change anything

I think things are changing, look at the North wholly rejecting the Left. IMO the Government needs a bit more support and a lot more courage and we should, I hope, see them starting to speak out.

IMO, The tories attacking the BBC is that the start of the fightback against the Hard Left.

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:45

The video I posted is decades old and is describing EXACTLY what is happening today. It's frightening.

RubyViolet · 19/02/2020 00:45

Neither the hard left or left have been in power for over 10 years.

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:48

Neither the hard left or left have been in power for over 10 years

You are right. However, the mess we find ourselves in today has come from schools and universities, it's a generation of people (I hate using the word "woke") that have created this environment, aided and abetted by social media.

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 00:50

What Im trying to say is that we've been infected by cultural marxism and the Governments have been powerless to stop it.

theflushedzebra · 19/02/2020 00:54

Because that would be sick and an appalling breach of rights, not seen in the western world since the 40s. In fact undoing rights that were created IN the 40s as a specific response to some of the most appalling human rights violations ever seen in Europe, as it was agreed world wide amongst the allies that there should be standards of human treatment that should not be breached for political reasons.

That's very powerful. And oft forgotten in these debates. Women have human rights too. Thank you for posting it. This is a political issue, a very new political issue, looking to override the human rights of women.

God knows how it's gained traction so fast, and so successfully, that potential political leaders and members of parliament seem to have taken leave of their senses, and gone along with it - even supporting the logical conclusion of self ID, which is locking women up with rapists.

avamiah · 19/02/2020 00:57

Unless I have missed something ?
If you have a penis and rape a child then you should be in my opinion locked up for a very long time.
Let’s be honest here it doesn’t matter if the “monster” says he is trans he /she will still be known as a child rapist and there are many people in prison with children on the outside, so
Good luck to the Child Rapist .

SammySmyth · 19/02/2020 01:00

This is a political issue, a very new political issue, looking to override the human rights of women

And it needs to be stopped in it's tracks as soon as possible. For the record, I don't believe this is the patriarchy, this is far more sinister.

How do we stop it? I'm not sure but a very small start would be to call out virtue signalling whenever we see it. It's a cancer. People aren't speaking out against things because they actually believe in it, they are speaking out because they think people will approve and like them for it.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/02/2020 01:07

There’s a reason why the UN Bangkok Protocols on the treatment of prisoners considers the housing of male prisoners in the female estate a human rights violation for those women.

I have no idea what exactly the endgame is for the people behind the curtain with the money driving all of this but I strongly suspect that it has something to do with undermining human rights laws in general, or possibly with creating a class of people to whom they don't apply. Unpersoning a group of people, basically.

theflushedzebra · 19/02/2020 01:11

Feminists have been trying to stop this mayhem for years, Sammy - shouting into the void. I started to become aware around 2013, it really hit me a couple of years later. It's only very recently that it's even been reported in the press at all. (started off by some v brave journalist like Janice Turner, Helen Lewis and James Kirkup) and then finally made it to the mainstream when it became part of the political parties manifestos.

Conservatives are in power for the foreseeable now - they have not made self ID law (yet) but self ID is being enacted by schools, NHS, police, private companies providing toilets and changing rooms.

Work on the Conservatives to stop this. They're the ones in power.

theflushedzebra · 19/02/2020 01:14

*They're the ones in power.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 19/02/2020 01:16

Indeed. The brighter TRAs will be lobbying the Tories while Labour are putting on the world's most embarrasing dog and pony show, and we should be too.
