When did womens equality come to mean rapists locked in prison with women?

All of the gains of feminism get turned against us to a greater or lesser extent. The pill. Sexual liberation. Opening up workplaces. Corridors of power. Sport.

Always 2 steps forward 1 back with a lot of people wanting 3 steps back...

Boring.

Women and men locked in prison together is a terrible idea.
They are on secure mental health wards way too often and what happens? Clue. Not fun for the women. And who listens to mentally ill women?

I was on a mixed adult ward at 17. The other 10 or so beds had adult men in. I felt very uncomfortable. 3 just stared at me, for hours. Luckily it was orthopaedic so getting at me was tricky even if they had tried

But still.

This is what you want? As an advance?

There are no max security womens prisons. They aren't needed. So there aren't the means to deal with extremeniy dangerous male bodied prisoners. Some prisons also have mother and baby programs so again you cant have Male bodied paedophiles in a prison with babies as not only should paedophiles be no where near babies and small children. You also cant have children around guns/weaponry needed to deal with dangerous prisoners that should he in a max security facility.

One of the (almost) funny things about this is that when we say we don't want men in women's spaces, men's rights activists will say: "You're accusing all men of being rapists!"

And then, when there is a proposal to put an actual, convicted rapist in a women's space, they still argue that it's OK. They won't even concede the point when you're talking about actual rapists?

What is it with these people? Why are they so utterly, bone-headedly stupid?

In Canada, where there is full sex self-id policies, TS males convicted of child rape & sexual abuse have been housed in prisons with mother & baby units.

See, if these tossers actually believed that male rapists didn't pose a threat to women (Ok, my eyes are rolling to the back of my head at this point, but bear with me) then they wouldn't be arguing to allow trans women in prison. They'd just be arguing for mixed prisons, full stop. Why bother segregating the sexes at all if men don't pose a threat to women? There are 80,000 male prisoners, and 4,000 female ones: you could just dot the women around the male estate.

Of course they don't argue for that because it wouldn't meet their need to be validated. They just want special privileges for male rapists who "identify" as women.

Most teen boys wouldn't be keen.

Supposing your employer expected you to go on business trip, or to attend a conference, Duplo. But funds are tight and you have to share a room (this has happened to me, btw, so not an implausible situation). They expect you to share a room with a male colleague from another office who you’ve never met before. Oh, and it’s one of those super trendy hotels with a glass wall dividing the bedroom and bathroom. Would you be OK with that? And even if you are, can you understand that you would be in a very tiny minority?

At a swimming club, many of which are run in schools, that only have communal changing.

An entire water polo team found a naked transwoman in their pool shower. It’s not so far fetched that a older teen would be sharing a changing room with adult transwomen on her football/rugby/cricket team.
It used to be largely unthinkable, but now labour leadership contenders have said vulnerable women should have to share sleeping and living spaces with male transitioners, it’s no longer the case.

Canada is lost.

They also regularly hand out the morning after pill to women prisoners because they are having sex consensually, or raped, by the transgender, but intact males, housed with them because they identify as women.

I don't think that's really a situation to aim for. The government is required by law to keep prisoners safe - there is no way women are safe being locked up with any males.

The thought that anyone would think it's acceptable to house convicted rapists anywhere near women, is so completely beyond me, I admit I never thought I'd se it argued by the most ardent TRA, let alone a prospective Labour leader.

But you know that, right, Duplo.

I'm hoping that one day Canada will wake up to the utter barminess they have legislated for.

Well, to some extent I think that's true, there are some women who do not seem to "get" that part of it.
Some of this is probably just personality differences, and things like up-bringing. But mainly, i my experience, women who think this way are younger and have limited experience, and don't really have a very clear idea what it would be like to, for example, be obliged to change a tampon in the same small space as a rather scary or creepy man - they just don't imagine a scenario like that.

It's like a merail tag team.
