Twitter has taken the baton. Seems people are not happy with being told what to think.

"I am tempted to resign my membership of the Conservative party and join the Labour Party just so they can #ExpelMe"

donquixotedelamancha · 11/02/2020 20:29

That is a lot of women. Heartening to see.

RubyViolet · 11/02/2020 20:30

Gibbons that has to be the tweet of the day !

From twitter

I am a the Labour Party Women’s Officer for Burton CLP

The Labour Party created the Equality Act that prevents discrimination on the basis of sex. I supported the 2019 @UKLabour manifesto to protect sex based rights.

I support @WomansPlaceUK. They support me.

#Expelme

I wish I waited 6 months to leave just to be part of this.

I know it will be hijacked, I know it will fade but it’s so uplifting to know that those of us resigning this past couple of years were not part of a tiny minority that disappeared into the void.

I’m going to rejoin and voice loudly at my local ward cause I won’t be the only one in the room and fuck them for thinking they get to be the moral arbiters of socially conscious politics.

FleecyMoo · 11/02/2020 21:02

Blimey! PC Gul is going to be busy tomorrow Wink

NotTerfNorCis · 11/02/2020 21:06

No kidding, it really is trending! The GC movement is taking off. Listen up TRAs. :)

RubyViolet · 11/02/2020 21:07

The nonsense being put forward by gender id extremists in response is only making clearer that it truly is that anyone who says females should have rights and biology is real is 'transphobic' and evil. Abuse and ranting at people saying rational, factual statements that the majority of the general public hold as basic as 'water is wet'.

There is apparently neither the sense nor insight to realise how plainly they're showing it and what it truly says about this movement. Let the hijacking and ranting and usual behaviour commence and gain as much sunshine as possible, it's the most helpful thing they could be doing.

RuffleCrow · 11/02/2020 21:09

Nice one! I'm no longer in the twitter cesspool but i'm cheering everyone on.

RuffleCrow · 11/02/2020 21:11

Michelle that is extremely #dryphobic of you. Literal violence!

Xanthangum · 11/02/2020 21:13

RLB has made the BBC news:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51465800

Michelleoftheresistance · 11/02/2020 21:15

Actually I say that slightly surprised to realise that it is that insanely basic, even after years of reading and studying this and trying to figure it out. I still have the lingering belief that there has to be more to it than this, it can't really be this plainly unreasonable, but yep, I've seen enough tonight to believe it.

Female people cannot have rights.
Biology must be denied.
Anyone not complying unquestioningly with this is evil and should be shunned.

There's actually people posting 'stay safe' from women saying I believe in biological sex. Female people need sex based rights.

Thelnebriati · 11/02/2020 21:16

From the BBC link;

''In 2018, the government launched a consultation on reforms to the Gender Recognition Act, the results of which have yet to be published.

A Whitehall source has told the BBC the reforms are "on ice".''

GCAcademic · 11/02/2020 21:31

A Whitehall source has told the BBC the reforms are "on ice".''

Splendid stuff. If Labour keep up their good work in alienating the electorate, it looks likely that no reforms will be happening for the next decade at least. I seriously doubt whether the party will even exist by 2030 if they persist with the woke intolerance and blatant disgust towards the majority of the population.

refusetobeasheep · 11/02/2020 21:38

This tweet got me thinking: "I believe in the current climate I have transphobic views, like humans cannot literally change sex, like .." (insert own favourites)

Can we draw out the sting of being called transphobic by demonstrating to the majority of people they too would be considered transphobic in the current climate, so time to look at that climate?

Mayomaynot · 11/02/2020 21:42

It's great that people are openly saying #expel me and stating their beliefs, but what a sad state of affairs it is. Seeking to expel women for wanting to keep women's sex-based rights. They have made their position clear.

RheaRanged · 11/02/2020 21:44

It’s getting all the sun light it richly deserves.

Igmum · 11/02/2020 21:49

I love this hashtag. A wave of wonderful, courageous women and men. Brilliant, just brilliant

Oldstyle · 11/02/2020 21:56

13.5k tweets of the hashtag and trending at number 1. If nothing else it suggests that a lot more people are alert to the issue and to the attacks on women's rights. Infuriating and dispiriting that two female LP leadership contenders are throwing women under the bus in order to support the trans ideology but cheering that so many people are protesting.

Redshoeblueshoe · 11/02/2020 21:58

Just lost an hour on Twitter
Loved every minute Grin

SunsetBeetch · 11/02/2020 22:06

This from Aaron Bastini made me laugh. The consequences of living in a woke bubble.

Men seem slightly confused by how strongly women feel on this. I wonder why that is.

Floisme · 11/02/2020 22:10

I've not seen Suzanne Moore speak out before:

theflushedzebra · 11/02/2020 22:14

I don't know how people like Aaron Bastani and Owen Jones even dare to show their twitter faces after that election result. "Fully automated luxury communism" my arse.

I don't think that really translated very well to your core labour voters in the north mmmm? Or to women. Or to many people at all.

Men like this have wrecked Labour. I've often thought Bastani's account is indistinguishable from a spoof.
