Looks like the usual people turned up for a photo op at Manchester pride, though to be fare there were 11 not 8 as usual.

Carry on protesting because its a good reminder of the actual numbers if that is all the people that can protest the second biggest pride in the UK.

I read something on reddit the other day about someone getting arsey with women who had had a miscarriage and were referring to their rainbow children

people are weird

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 26/08/2019 15:00

People get arsey with trans widows using the word widow because it disrupts the rainbow narrative.

As someone who lost a partner I think it's very apt for what these women go through.

Wurzelsnewhead · 26/08/2019 15:17

Another 70s child, I used to sing along to ‘Paint the whole world with a rainbow’.
I can’t bring myself to do that anymore 😂. Wankers.

What would zippy say?

Wurzelsnewhead · 26/08/2019 16:36

Zippy would say it as it is and be forcibly zipped up in 2019 for speaking the truth.
( I always thought Bungle was a dim goody two-shoes, he’d probably be woke.)

I’ve had my double about George though. Effete pink hippo eh?

It's not actually all the same women turning up at each event. I know some of the women who have attended recent northern Prides promoting sex rather than gender. Strangely some of them have things like jobs and kids and other adult responsibilities that prevent them from attending each and every event, I know, weird that. I know quite a lot of women with kids who won't attend specifically because of the fetishistic displays. I know women who daren't protest due to risks of doxxing and abuse. I know a woman who was followed and harassed after the Leeds Pride who is now scared to attend future events. So, not only is it not all the same women (though I understand that to some people women without long hair and frocks look all the same!), but there are valid reasons that many women won't attend because of fear. But it's definitely not all the same women attending and the relatively small number of women sticking their necks out at Pride is in no way representative of the women in the general population who completely agree with them.

Like me. I can't risk my job until the mortgage is paid off and these shits would contact my employer and try to get me fired. Then there's the risk to my family, my pets... My cats go out and are very insistent about doing so, and I have nightmares about being outed and finding a little furry corpse on the doorstep with "fuck terfs" sprayed on the door. We know that these people doxx us, we know that they have physically assaulted Maria, we know that they have vandalised Prof Stock's office door, we know about the bomb threat and bomb making materials found in Hastings, and we know that abusers escalate the abuse when they see their victims trying to escape. So I don't think my fears are unjustified.

My lesbian friends have all stopped going to our local Pride because it's now such a misogynist environment.

wacademia exactly- and the public sector like the NHS and other public services, the civil service, voluntary sector and charities, academia, and the arts and humanities sector are both very big employers of women and have been the first to chuck them under the bus in the name of being ‘inclusive’ Hmm so that takes out a fuck of a lot of reality-based women who can exactly see what all this is doing to women and would otherwise be out there protesting. Sad

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 27/08/2019 09:03

Shame these bastions of right-on ness did fuck all for women eh?

DickKerrLadies · 27/08/2019 11:44

Once again the women of FWR take a goady OP and turn it into something actually useful.

Thanks everyone!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 27/08/2019 11:57

Once again, it's an absolutely brilliant thread.

BatShite · 30/08/2019 15:58

..whats spinster? First time I have seen it mentioned and given it seems to have ruffled supporters of TRAs (or possibly TRAs themselves) I'm guessing its something that I want to be part of.

Power to these lesbians, again. The story of the detransitioner made me fill up. So many yung people are going to be damaged by this bullshit. And the 'thought you wanted debate' argument, on a thread about lesbians rejecting people with penises?! What the actual fuck? No, theres no debate to be had in if lesbians should be pressured to accept male sexual partners for fucks sake..

You can read all about it here spinster.xyz/about There is a lot of misinformation on twitter, because it really upsets the TRAs that they are powerless to silence the women who spin there.

All those uppity witches, and not a scold's bridle as far as the eye can see.
