Looks like the usual people turned up for a photo op at Manchester pride, though to be fare there were 11 not 8 as usual.

Carry on protesting because its a good reminder of the actual numbers if that is all the people that can protest the second biggest pride in the UK.

Pride comes before a fall, just sayin...
Pride is a self-righteous attitude, and considered sinful in christian circles.

Mind you so is being gay, but Pride long since stopped being about celebrating gay, and has been destroyed by porn large dicks, and hughly inappropriate sexual prowess [male]

I'm another that wants to avoid it now. Sick of seeing it, and the rainbow marquees set up various locales to promote this kind of unhealthy stuff. It turns my stomach.

Stop promoting sexual fetishism to children! (Looking at you, Pride, and authorities who condone it)

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/08/2019 09:07

I know quite a few gay people who don’t go any more because it isn’t about them. They can have sex, get married, get a joint mortgage, have anti discrimination laws... it’s more about other things these days...

ChattyLion · 26/08/2019 09:14

We should be supporting LGB rights and visibility all year round, but it’s the association with fetishists and misogynists under the exact same Pride banner that is really divisive and is causing lesbians to feel threatened and excluded, vilified as T*RFs just for having same-sex sexual boundaries ie just for being lesbians.

It’s shocking that lesbians by definition who don’t do dick are being made unwelcome from events and spaces and activities like Pride that are supposed to be supporting lesbians and who say they are there for lesbians..because lesbians want to retain women only spaces and not to want to fuck men who say they are women. I have so much respect for the women who have been demonstrating this weekend. Personal sexual boundaries are the bedrock of sexual consent and it’s a deeply fucked up kind of politics that wants to chip away at these- and therefore to undermine sexual consent- via inciting harassment, threats and promoting the structural erasure of spaces where women can be together without men, and therefore undermine the legitimacy of same sex female relationships.

TruthOnTrial · 26/08/2019 09:17

Looking at some of those images, honestly, its a porn parade.

These things are what you would expect to see at a porn film trade fair.

The sooner gay people step away from association with it the more favours it will do the whole community, gay or not, as it did do the gay community a lot of favours, but now its not just lesbians its working against.

The whole thing completely lost the gay spirit when it was invaded.

Wurzelsnewhead · 26/08/2019 09:19

Tbh I thought those photos of children holding the huge purple willy and the fetish dog stroking had been photoshopped.
If true, what on earth were their parents thinking?? Are adults so devoid of thought these days they accept their children being exposed to this shit, just because there are rainbows bandied about and they are told it is ok? Fucking hell, perverts must be clapping their hands with glee, anything seems acceptable these days.
I feel I’m morphing into Mary Whitehouse but its time the adults stepped in and said no to this revolting crap.

TruthOnTrial · 26/08/2019 09:21

I s'pose we have Bespin to thank for the heads up on this.

Flowers to the brave women!!! Yay, go you! Each and every single one of the fourteen.

Justhadathought · 26/08/2019 09:55

When did celebrating gay become pornographic?!

I brought this up recently and was told it was all"a celebration of gay culture, and that 'straight' people had absolutely no place in criticising it...."

What you do at a private event is your own business, but what you do in public spaces becomes everyone's business.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/08/2019 09:57

Some of there people are straight. When did Kink become part of the alphabet soup?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 26/08/2019 10:00

Good grief, what a nasty, spiteful and unnecessary post by bespin.

Guess you couldn't keep your true colours hidden any more. I used to think you were just ill-informed. Now I pity you.

TruthOnTrial · 26/08/2019 10:03

Gay is not synonymous with porn/kink, and to publicly assert that is so offensive to gay and straight alike.

Justhadathought · 26/08/2019 10:06

Pride comes before a fall, just sayin...

I think you're right. The more it becomes so blatantly about sexual fetishes, the more people it will alienate. I can imagine that some will say " Good: we want to wind up those prudes and haters...and if they don't like it they can just stay away" .

This sort of exhibitionism is provocative and aggressive, though - and because of that there will be a backlash. With regards to parents, and others, smiling on as children pat the heads of fetish dogs - there must be some serious disconnect going on - in the same way that Jimmy Saville made everyone's skin crawl, and yet people continued to clap and cheer him.

Justhadathought · 26/08/2019 10:07

*Gay is not synonymous with porn/kink, and to publicly assert that is so offensive to gay and straight alike8

..and yet I've been told it is...it is all part of the culture. no criticism or pause for reflection is allowed. If it's gay it must be o.k!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/08/2019 10:08

Pride had become so though. Why is that?

Justhadathought · 26/08/2019 10:09

Some of there people are straight. When did Kink become part of the alphabet soup?

It has become a festival of 'queerness' - and that includes heterosexuals and fetishists whatever their sexuality.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/08/2019 10:10

So it’s no longer for for purpose.

Justhadathought · 26/08/2019 10:18

So it’s no longer for for purpose

I've been the lone voice on this recently ( on a largely male, & largely gay male, forum) and was severely castigated. I said what you have just said, and was told that "Pride has always been a celebration of all aspects of gay culture". No-one is allowed to reflect or say anything different ( even though one gay man did, in this particular exchange. He received far less condemnation than me, though...because he's male, and because he's gay. Lots of male back slapping...and thinly disguised misogyny.

TruthOnTrial · 26/08/2019 10:19

Totally unfit for anything.

Since when did our laws that keep porn mags away from under-age eyes, allow it full on in public?

Why should young children see all this pornographic representation?

Which councils are promoting children be exposed to porn?

When did the Pride movement start promoting porn to children? Its gross, and what arethe oublic doing taking their dc to watch it!!!

Its porn cloaked in dancey music and festival atmosphere, thats manuplation of the population at large.

We all know about safeguarding, but some blatantly ignore it (looking at you Police, and Local Governments for facilitating porn to children)

TruthOnTrial · 26/08/2019 10:25

Its misrepresentation isn't it.

For many men, being gay is simply about loving other men in general, or one or two in particular, and for women, women.

Kink and porn appears across all sexual proclivities, regardless of gay/straight, cross dressing, whatever.

They can't claim it only for gay, thats false.

Some people are fetishists, nothing else to say, it shouldn't be promoted, imo, atall, but especially not where vulnerable children are around.

All very jimmy savile, yes.

Haven't the public at large learnt!!!

FannyCann · 26/08/2019 10:32

It seems there has been a pride march somewhere every weekend for months. Just google police pride cars. Whole fleets have the rainbow livery. The police should be busy sending all the fetishists and exhibitionists on their way and protecting public decency and safeguarding children imo. Not spending large sums of taxpayer money on rainbow painting their cars.

#JeSuisMaryWhitehouse

Disclaimer - I once went to a Cambridge Union debate with her opposing someone who I can't remember. I was surprised to find myself agreeing with her even then! Grin

Wurzelsnewhead · 26/08/2019 10:37

It seems the public have not learnt very much at all. Too many sheeple.
Those photographs speak volumes about how gullible responsible adults can actually be - fetish openly on display and numpties are taking their kids along for a day out and a photo.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/08/2019 10:38

And they are telling the police not to dance at carnival this year.

I’d rather see officers in their usual uniform dancing with women and small kids in carnival gear, rather than covered in glitter and uniform/car/station modifications (who’s paying for that?) men in rubber dog outfits with - er - bones, or a ikkle baby girl outfits Or tweeting bile against lesbian protestors. Endorsing the TWAW line absolutely. Cressida Dick hang your head!

Interesting innit?

Wurzelsnewhead · 26/08/2019 10:41

I’d rather see the police do their actual job, plenty of crimes to solve.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/08/2019 10:43

Like adults today who look back at photos of themselves sitting with Saville as a child asking ‘mum, dad - what the fuck were you smoking back then?’ A few years from now ‘mum, dad - that fetishsit I was stroking has a hard-on - what the fuck were you smoking back then?’ Or ‘is that a 6 foot purple penis is holding???’

Redshoeblueshoe · 26/08/2019 12:06

I expect Stonewall will want to ramp it up, so next year will be Pride Year.
Rainbows and glitter will be compulsory, everywhere.
Buckingham Palace will have a rainbow flag.
And MPs will be wearing block colour clothing so the HOC looks like a rainbow

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 26/08/2019 14:12

Who has taken over there? With old doodah leaving? They won’t be happy until every organisation, man, woman and child wears a rainbow. Sinister huh?

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Kramer does an Aids charity walk but refuses to wear the ribbon because they told him he had to. ‘Who? Who refuses to wear the ribbon? I am wearing the ribbon. He is wearing the ribbon. Everyone is wearing the ribbon! Everyone - this man refuses to wear the ribbon!!!’ That’s me with rainbows these days. Hate the fuckers. And I’m a child of the 70s 😭.

I want my innocent, pretty, non political, non sexualised rainbow back!
