Looks like the usual people turned up for a photo op at Manchester pride, though to be fare there were 11 not 8 as usual.

Carry on protesting because its a good reminder of the actual numbers if that is all the people that can protest the second biggest pride in the UK.

and yet you still believe the 'lesbians aren't welcome' line even when the same travelling circus of 8-11 bigots turn up and receive zero support for the umpteenth time.

Lol.

FannyCann · 24/08/2019 18:24

Twitter thread. Well done those brave women.

Lesbians that don't welcome penis aren't welcome. You have made that clear. You had better up your intimidation because some women are still brave enough to defy you evil people.

Grimbles · 24/08/2019 18:27

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of a much larger audience bespin 😊

littlbrowndog · 24/08/2019 18:28

💪💪💪💪.

Awesome

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 24/08/2019 18:28

and receive zero support for the umpteenth time.

  1. each one of those women and 10 other people supporting them right there.

  2. thread full of support for them right here

  3. twitter and FB has been full of support for them.

  4. many of the pride attendees who support them will have remained silent out of fear.

sackrifice · 24/08/2019 18:28

I still don't think the TRAs will pay any attention to you OP though.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 24/08/2019 18:28

had 10 other people

Kit19 · 24/08/2019 18:29

I wish I had their courage - 11 there in person but thousands of women standing with them

2Rebecca · 24/08/2019 18:31

Excellent Bispin I missed this so great lesbians were there at Manchester Pride. It's hard for lesbians to know what to do at pride now. At Glasgow Pride recently I went as a lesbian ally and we decided to try and be non contentious and just have pro-lesbian placards and banners and ignore the males who want to have sex with lesbians and try and up the profile of lesbians by marching in Pride as a female pro lesbian group rather than being kicked off. Some in our group felt we were compromising though which is fair enough and the TRAs still made up nonsense about us.

sueanddumplings · 24/08/2019 18:31

4) many of the pride attendees who support them will have remained silent out of fear.

If they supported them and Pride is so awful as people here make out then they probably wouldn't be attending it would they? Hmm

Hamster00 · 24/08/2019 18:33

Big thumbs up to the brave women who did this. That's got to seriously take a lot of guts against such opposition!

Bespin, just curious what you hoped to achieve with such a goady post?

truthisarevolutionaryact · 24/08/2019 18:34

Meh - people didn't believe the individuals talking about the abuse of girls in Rochdale etc.
They didn't believe the reports about Jimmy Saville and he got millions of people watching him on prime time telly.
Think of most scandals involving abuse of women / children and the initial reports were always dismissed.

This is an identical situation with the target being lesbians.

Brava to those women (and thank you to the OP for giving this so much additional coverage).

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 24/08/2019 18:35

If they supported them and Pride is so awful as people here make out then they probably wouldn't be attending it would they?

Would you say the majority of the population didn't attend?

2Rebecca · 24/08/2019 18:35

We did get positive comments from spectators though and "ooh look lesbians" comments and a couple of young women who joined the march as individuals (it was a bit corporate) were keen to hold our banner for a while

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/08/2019 18:36

Regardless of my opinions about protesting (I think protesters have no right to any opinion which isn't inline with that of the state)

Who's a what now?

TinselAngel · 24/08/2019 18:36

Thanks for helping to publicise the actions of these very brave women who are standing strong in the face of intimidation.

They set an inspiring example.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 24/08/2019 18:37

If they supported them and Pride is so awful as people here make out then they probably wouldn't be attending it would they?

Who said pride is so awful? Why wouldn’t they attend? The protestors attended, why wouldn’t others who agree with them attend? You sound confused. And grasping.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 24/08/2019 18:37

Thanks for sharing that photo - so proud of those who put their neck out to stand up for lesbian rights 💪👏👏

fortheloveofnotthisagain · 24/08/2019 18:40

I see awesome, brave women. They made some noise and stated facts. Bravo ladies, keep up the good work!

EverardDigby · 24/08/2019 18:46

There's lots of us lesbian and bisexual women who wouldn't dream of going to Pride to see the display of male sexual entitlement, yuck, but are pleased that other women are there on our behalf.

Most lesbians won't consider TW as sexual partners and nor will most straight men. Pretending otherwise is doing a disservice to young people who are considering making life changing decisions based on false promises.

FermatsTheorem · 24/08/2019 18:47

Well done those women.

Genuine question for Bespin and Sue. What do you suggest same sex attracted women call themselves? If for instance they're on a dating site and want to indicate that people with penises approaching them are wasting everyone's time, how should they describe this situation, now that you and your fellow activists have taken the word lesbian from them?

IfIShouldFallFromGraceWithGod · 24/08/2019 18:47

Brave women. Standing proud and stating what everyone knows but are scared to say
