See, it's this type of stuff people are questioning.
Why can't a lesbian be a radical protester, if they were to take a radical stance?

It seems that some may be misunderstanding the use of the term 'radical' in the context of 'radical feminism'. In this context the term 'radical' means 'the root'.

Radical feminist analysis targets the root of power structures in the world that adversely impact on the female sex class.

No one is saying they can't be radical protesters - in this case they weren't being radical

If you say so.

Bespin · 06/08/2019 17:54

you can highlight actual pedophiles what ever community they come from. To claim a whole community harbours them is totally defferent to that.

Trohmaniac · 06/08/2019 17:55

You've already been asked this, Roses, and no doubt you'll ignore it again (as that's your modus operandi) or you'll say 'there's no point in answering' which I've seen you say dozens of times but:

What was radical about what they were saying?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 06/08/2019 17:56

Bespin

How are we going to keep safeguarding in place while at the same time not questioning when peadophiles and fetishists openly sexualise children and get children to be involved with their fetish.

We need to highlight each and every time safeguarding has failed.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 06/08/2019 17:57

To claim a whole community harbours them is totally defferent to that.

Not one person has said this.

You keep twisting what is said.

And people are seeing that you are doing it, and as we get closer to this threads end, another will pop up.

Trohmaniac · 06/08/2019 17:57

Whole communities that have shielded child abusers:

The BBC (Saville - no way he operated without anyone knowing for that long)
The Catholic Church

Why are Pride special? By allowing fetishists access to something that should be about same-sex attraction, they are allowing a crack in the door for paedophiles to slip in.

Why is your concern not for the children that MAPs are targeting?

FormerMediocreMale · 06/08/2019 17:58

Bespin pride used to be to show that being LGB was normal, not about fetish!

Now fetishes are allowed but not the wrong kind of lesbian. Yet the kind of lesbian joked about in the 70s and 80s (straight males) is welcome.

On lookers can RTFT and make up their own minds.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 06/08/2019 17:59

The BBC (Saville - no way he operated without anyone knowing for that long)

There is still a pedophile ring at the BBC, it didn't end just because the 1970's did.

MsMcWibble · 06/08/2019 17:59

Should we ignore the increasing concerns about what is happening within a community cos it might make people look bad?
I think we've been here before.

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/08/2019 17:59

You're really asking me what's radical about standing at Pride with adult human female tshirts when it's Pride for LGBT?
OK then.

Bespin · 06/08/2019 18:00

the message does not make someone radical, maybe there actions do that. maybe turing up to an event where there is clearly little or no support for your view point is what could be considered radical. often the act of going against what appears to be the given viewpoint can often be considered radical. like when gay and lesbian protesters appeared on the news to campaign against section 28. they were felt to be radical at the time.

SophoclesTheFox · 06/08/2019 18:00

I think this thread needs a diagram.

I don’t know now if I’m supposed to be a terrible homophobe or someone who thinks lesbians can do no wrong, someone who wants to tar all gay people as paedos or someone who sees paedos everywhere.

Just as well I know that none of these apply.

The diagram is going to be very...busy.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 06/08/2019 18:01

they were felt to be radical at the time

They weren't taking rights away from another group were they.

Trohmaniac · 06/08/2019 18:03

They weren't taking rights away from another group were they.

Exactly. Their fight for rights did not include that straight people have sex with them and learn to get over their genital fetishes.

SophoclesTheFox · 06/08/2019 18:03

Thoroughly agree, bespin. I think we may well look back on these lesbian protestors in the same way as we did those who protested against section 28 (which I also did).

Bravely standing up against “popular” opinion for what they feel is right.

MsMcWibble · 06/08/2019 18:04

You're really asking me what's radical about standing at Pride with adult human female tshirts when it's Pride for LGBT?
OK then.

NOT the dictionary definition of woman!
Outrageous - AND those women saying they are same sex attracted! At Pride!
I'm shocked.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 06/08/2019 18:04

I don’t know now if I’m supposed to be a terrible homophobe or someone who thinks lesbians can do no wrong, someone who wants to tar all gay people as paedos or someone who sees paedos everywhere.

You don't have to be anything, you don't have to follow anyone. Be free and be yourself.

someone who sees paedos everywhere

Put it this way, if you've actually seen how far stretched certain peadophiles rings are you wouldn't argue that they are everywhere.

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/08/2019 18:04

There you go, people knew really, were just pretending not to.
Colour me shocked

SophoclesTheFox · 06/08/2019 18:05

But saying a lesbian is a female homosexual is only considered radical by apparently “progressive” people, which is where this all gets very weird.

Bespin · 06/08/2019 18:05

you all type this stuff, this is not really a debate about anything but a list of things people can be accused of being or doing.

for anyone who does not think fetish as not been a part of pride since the beginning and never been to a pride in there lives. you sound as if this is something new.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 06/08/2019 18:06

Bespin

You could spam the thread with a countdown to the last post, that way it'll close quicker.

RosesAndRaindrops · 06/08/2019 18:07

People disagreeing is not spamming the thread however much you think it is.

PreseaCombatir · 06/08/2019 18:08

You know what they say, Pride cometh before the fall...

Trohmaniac · 06/08/2019 18:08

Oh give over.

There have not been grown men, dressed as 'pups, with visible erections, encouraging children to 'come and play' since the beginning of Pride.

We all know that.
