A wonderful breakfast thread to ensure all the good women of fwr start the day right with substance and not just dross. I’ve already failed and partaken in consuming shite but it might not be too late for lots of you!

I like making egg free pancakes by substituting the eggs fro mashed bananas- works a treat.

Here was my cake from last week. Sadly no one actually wanted to have a game, which was probably a good thing else the pieces would’ve been even more melted and mishapen!

Mandarins are lovely. I am even willing to believe they would be nice in a warm pudding.

But citrus fruit and hot milk is just flat wrong. That's like a fast track emetic concoction.

One year DC asked for an "Earth" cake, which I thought sounded doable, imaging a nice 8 inch cake decorated with blue and green icing, and as I started to agree and say that would be find, he fixed me with a paddington bear stare and uttered a solitary word - sphere.

They were learning all about 3D shapes at school, the bastards. The cake took me bloody ages.

Actually, all the birthday cakes I ever made were chocolate cakes smothered in simple chocolate fudge icing. I don't really get why anyone would spend time decorating a cake with anything else.

We did once have a go at modelling our pet in cake. He's a dachshund so really it was just a Swiss roll with pretensions.
