A wonderful breakfast thread to ensure all the good women of fwr start the day right with substance and not just dross. I’ve already failed and partaken in consuming shite but it might not be too late for lots of you!

I like making egg free pancakes by substituting the eggs fro mashed bananas- works a treat.

Nooooo first post in and we are reminded of Banana Weetabix Horror. Then its straight into the M word.

Banana vodka;
1 measure vodka.
3 measures soda water or cream soda.
4 drops banana flavouring.

Also works with parma violet flavouring. You're welcome.

I think we should enter the next series of "Let's Dance" or whatever they call it, and have a dance off where half of us do the "pick me dance" and half do the "monkey dance". It would be a sight to behold.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 04/04/2019 09:41

mash bananas, then spread them out very thinly on a baking tray/bottom of plastic box, and freeze. Banana ice cream in about an hour, no sticky blender to wash Smile

birdsdestiny · 04/04/2019 09:44

If it was possible I would quite like to make MNHQ a treat for breakfast this morning. It would definitely not be Langs disgusting breakfast recipe Smile

terryleather · 04/04/2019 09:45

I told her about WBH and she was delighted. I think compared to the hot water technique it sounds preferable. I guess that’s another point to you Lang.

Ah but Spartacus agrees it's boak-inducing so it's even stevens

Maybe we need to do a poll to settle the question?

BadPenny I am going to make that Parma violet vodka

CharlieParley · 04/04/2019 09:45

So you're basically eating cardboard eith baby food, LangCleg? I tried, I really tried to eat Weetabix coz it's supposedly healthy but I'd rather have porridge. With sliced bananas. Can't stand bananas ripe enough to mash.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 04/04/2019 09:45

Holy smokes, I never thought of making frozen bananas into milkshakes. If I chuck in some hot chocolate powder can I convince fruit dodging ds that it's a chocolate milkshake? I have half a drawer of frozen bananas that I throw in thinking "oh, mustn't waste them" but then never remember to actually do anything with them...

birdsdestiny · 04/04/2019 09:47

Terry I am not sure a referendum on weetabix is a good plan, you will split fwr down the middle. It will take decades to repair the damage.

LangCleg · 04/04/2019 09:48

This seems to be majority board opinion!

I honestly only have it once in a blue moon but it's such fun to breakfast joust with terryleather that I can't resist!

YogaDrone · 04/04/2019 09:51

Not a breakfast I'm afraid but I'm going to make this Lime and Ginger Ice Cream at the weekend. It sounds mega yummy and super easy.

I don't mind the taste of bananas but I can't stand the smell so I can only eat them when I have a stuffed up nose Confused

terryleather · 04/04/2019 09:51

Oh fuck you're right birds - I will be the David Cameron of FWR Shock

You might do better with cocoa rather than hot chocolate powder as the bananas are sweet (especially if they're overripe which is the case for all my frozen ones).

I don't do milkshakes - I blend them with various additions depending on what I have. Strawberries or blueberries and a dollop of yogurt, or a blob of Nutella, or almond butter and cocoa.

Or use them in muffins or porridge.

ILuvBirdsEye · 04/04/2019 09:53

Cardboard, milk and sliced bananas today. I must have heard you guys through the ether Grin

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 04/04/2019 09:55

I'm in McDonald's eating a snuck-in M & S croissant with coffee that I did buy here...not a banana breakfast bu can I join?

I do have a banana in my bag though I'm wondering if I tentatively wave it in the air if any of you might spot me? It can be the morning sustenance equivalent of wearing a rose in ones lapel, or a secret wink

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 04/04/2019 09:56

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 04/04/2019 09:56

Top tip Eroll, thanks. That said, ds would eat sugar from the packet so I'm not sure too sweet is something he's aware of Hmm

ShiveringCoyote · 04/04/2019 09:56

I started so well with porridge mixed with chopped up banana strawberries and flat peaches. And then on the way back from the school run I had three sausage rolls and a brownie Blush

terryleather · 04/04/2019 09:59

Others may disagree, but a good ol' breakfast joust is indeed one of the pleasures of FWR Lang.

terryleather · 04/04/2019 10:00

I like your style Shivering!

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 04/04/2019 10:04

I offered to send cake but they wouldn’t hear of it!!

BiologyNotBigotry · 04/04/2019 10:08

You can also freeze pancakes if you make a ridiculously enormous batch that you physically couldn't eat in one sitting... Then you can have pancakes whenever you like & they take less than a minute to defrost in the microwave so you can easily hide in the kitchen while the DC think you're cleaning & munch on them... Not that I'm doing that now or anything...

Wrybread · 04/04/2019 10:15

Anymore banana milkshake or banana ice cream recipes? I'm think I'm going to go out into this horrible weather to get some bananas now 😂

YogaDrone · 04/04/2019 10:15

"You can also freeze pancakes if you make a ridiculously enormous batch that you physically couldn't eat in one sitting"

I want to do this Biology but my family see increasing amounts of pancakes as a challenge and despite my making more and more in a desperate bid to have some left over to freeze, they rise to the challenge and eat them.

Wrybread · 04/04/2019 10:20

Are we talking American style pancakes or trad British/French ones?

Mine will wolf down British ones no matter how many I make
