A timely, if incredibly worrying reminder, that we should view all stories about minorities from our press with extreme skepticism. I hope this is the only fabricated inflammatory anti-trans story our press has published, it would be awful if the debate regarding trans rights was being used as cover by bigots to spread anti-trans hatred.

I said on a previous thread that my issue wasn't whether the Huntley story was true or not, that became something of a side issue.

My concern was the length some people were going to to defend huntley, demand we all use correct pronouns etc etc. It was astonishing. Rapist hill indeed.

I am on the fence with the whole trans debate- I am undecided. I wish the press would report fairly and accurately so that the public can make informed decisions though.

Actually I thought it wasn't so much that they have made it up, as much as Huntley, a pathologically violent man who lied extremely convincingly on National Television about murdering two little girls, has denied it. They've printed his denial.

Of course its possible that he's much more truthful these days and we should believe his every word now. Perhaps he doesn't lie any more.

As to whether he has or hasn't ever claimed to be transgender, has yet to be established.
We do know that there are other male rapists and murderers who have made that claim, and been accorded validation and transfer to the female estate. Huntley was never the first and will not be the last.

The fact that his possible claim to be a woman was championed by lots of activists and other assorted types is the story. What does it tell you if someone can potentially plant a story about a contemptible person claiming 'trans rights' and manage to get a portion of people to go along with it as a positive idea?

What else might that kind of manipulation be useful for? Good grief. Is the 'woke' thing ironic? Is it meant to signal someone so bloody gullible and biddable they might as well be sleep walking?

And as others have said, the point here isn't even if it's true or not. It's that the trans cult is so deeply entrenched in some places that people would believe that Huntley is a woman just on his say so, and even believe that he should be in a female prison, because 'acceptance without exception' and anything less would be 'transphobic'.

Certainly makes Twitter look silly for banning those referring to this monster as a 'he'.
