What we did was amazing. We pulled the GUardian, Parliament, the House of Lords, the media, out of a position they were determined to have, we changed the debate, we showed women were a political force, we acted, all over the country we acted. In different ways. We were bound by the GRA review and as soon as that was done it was evident that power relations had recreated within a social movement. Yes some people by reflex did things that they would always have done. Now we get to relearn and renegotiate power relations by saying we dont play the way media tribalists did. Whatever fall outs there have been were always going to hapen but we still did that. Thats why htis board is permanently monitored by nutcases and acually the power we demonstrated is directly at the root of the toxic fallouts and is a mark of success in itself. Political spectrum reforming within this movement is alright, but it probably pays to remember how amazing what we achieved was and letting that guide what we can achieve., We changed the conversation we can keep doing that. Easily. By having the conversation we want and not bowing to social media tribalism that hides all sorts of nasties and existing political orgs. And learning in a way they cant.

You know this board used to be pretty quite when I first came here.
But now look what happening ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 13:55

yes. what we did last year, dragging the GRA consultation into the light, against the will of the establishment, felt unprecedented

some people put in so much effort and are justifiably well known for what they have done, but all of us, just talking, learning from each other, talking about cheesecake, changed the conversation.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 28/01/2019 13:55

There's still a long way to go.
But yes, were getting there.

We must keep talking.💪

Melroses · 28/01/2019 13:58

Yes, there is a long way to go - we must keep talking and doing. But we have got a long way in little over a year. Nice view. Keep climbing.

RagingWhoreBag · 28/01/2019 15:14

That twitter thread is brilliant! We knew all we had to do was bring them out into the light and any sane person would see the madness in this self ID bollocks.

ToeToToe · 28/01/2019 15:16

It has been amazing. Proud to stand with all you wonderful women Thanks

GrinitchSpinach · 28/01/2019 15:16

As the protestors chanted this week,

Women stand up!
We won't shut up!

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 15:34

Whoah there, whoah there hold on a minute.

The Resisters stuff was brilliant. It would have had much better impact women suddenly not pulled out spooked by the Jean/Posie row meaning some vital photo opportunities were lost.

Who made that possible? Posie & her Standing for Women t-shirts along with the sheros of the Resister movement who got their arses out of bed at 5am during a spate of sub-zero weather.

What else did ‘we’ do. Hand a sodding great gift to the TRAs who stalk this site.

I thought you couldn’t post publicly any more Lisa after all those weeks of crying about how you and your daughter were so at risk from violence thanks to Karen Ingala Smith. Can we presume that because you are openly posting on a public forum which you know is frequented by the TRAs that the risk has gone?

Or are you after more supply. I’m hiding the thread so as to avoid the endless word soup/salad.

It’s like watching the pigeon playing chess in real-time. Shit all over the board then strut about triumphantly claiming you’ve won!

lisamuggeridge · 28/01/2019 15:37

Politelygiveszerofucks.

I didnt say I couldnt, I said I wouldnt be using social media, you know one of the issues with trolls demonstrating your pattern, they cant deviate. They stick to the same things over and over and over. Tedious. A. F. Its shame mostly, and a lack of substance. Now while it is interesting that your current issues seem to fall around one figure, its not very. If you are having difficulty understanding that adults are allowed boundaries, you shoudl probably go find some TRAs, you need healthier ways to approach this. I know this is hard for someone like you to understand, but adults are not living for you or for your tribe and normal adults do not evaluate actions on the basis of a persons identity. Thats really just social media trolls

Agree. I admire the many who have raised their heads and used their personality/profile but many also acted quietly talking to friends & colleagues. People became involved because of principle, fairness and threat to rights. These need to remain the focus to continue achieving.

lisamuggeridge · 28/01/2019 15:38

And its been lovely posting on Mumsnet this weekend, and I long ago learned how to deal with narc abuse on twitter, especially the weirdos who try to generate risk in real life.

I think reading this thread could be of benefit to you

I particularly like this quote from ArcheryAnnie

I think public disagreement with each other is a feature, not a bug, as long as we argue about the issues and don't slate each other.
