Yes it was Nick who was invited along with Posie and me. After a very reasonable discussion on camera and off, I would have hoped that he might have taken a more reconcilatory line in his reporting.

But I suspect that whatever he thinks personally he is paid to produce pieces according to house style, tone and emphasis.

The issue with Nick Duffy's pieces & Pink News reporting is as the After Ellen article makes clear,

"anti-lesbian sentiment and misogynistic viewpoints."

There are many males who hold such views having 'reasonable discussions' about other things.
Of course women, especially lesbians can identify such views often, even within 'reasonable discussions'.

My experience is that men ususally minimise it when its pointed out.
Not just the men with anti lesbian sentiments and misogynistic viewpoints.

If Nick Duffy is being coerced to write anti-lesbian and misogynistic articles against his beliefs, I hope that he'll be supported by those who know this & encouraged to leave.

DebbieInBirmingham · 14/12/2018 09:09

I wonder if Nick has even thought about these things? His writing - along with most of what I read in Pink News - suggests a collective who are so convinced that they are right that challenge and scruitiny must be mendatious.

R0wantrees · 14/12/2018 09:18

It's not just the Pink News collective though, misogyny and anti- lesbian sentiment is widespread and especially concentrated in some of the media, politics, GBT+ environments that PN are centred within.

This isn't about the trans-rights / self id debate its about patriachy and misogyny.

It's worth reflecting and re-listening to the broadcast discussion.
Three males, one female. Listen especially for the males discussing what is a woman, access to women's spaces etc
