Graham Linehan Appreciation Thread

Just want to register my appreciation of his support of women.

He takes shit from TRAs day after day and his threads are brilliant. I know and he knows and acknowledges that women get far more abuse than he or any other man does for posting gender critical opinions and I thank him for acknowledging this fact too. A great man.

Thanks Graham. And Father Ted never stops being genius.

Current thread in twitter

Is the message above Phishing or genuine?

Creepycaterpillar · 26/08/2018 21:04

Graham has seen the thread and says thanks to everyone!

Creepycaterpillar · 26/08/2018 21:06

I'm not phishing but I changed my username as I am trying to keep both platforms separate.

Creepycaterpillar · 26/08/2018 21:18

So understandably women won't want to message me their names so if you message one of graham's friends on twitter and ask for them to forward it to Graham he can unblock you that way.

Stickerladiesoftheworldunite · 26/08/2018 21:34

Thanks Graham - especially with all you're going through health wise.

I love your work and now your support of women makes me appreciate you more.

I too wish somebody like JK would speak up.
I feel frustrated that Caitlin Moran, who has spoken so fervently about feminism over the years, does not engage. I'm losing respect for those I admired.

I've got Yazoo on loop though Smile

Voice0fReason · 26/08/2018 21:39

He is great. It's good to see a man who isn't personally affected by this willing to speak out.

redshoeblueshoe · 26/08/2018 21:39

Thanks Graham

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 26/08/2018 21:44

Thanks Graham, you rock.

rolymoomoo · 26/08/2018 21:49

Another Hear Hear from me too. Not only has he written some of the greatest comedies of all time, he is practically the only "celebrity " voice to unequivocally come out in defence of women and girls against the huge scandal that is self ID and all of it's safeguarding implications.
If you really are reading Glinner, thank you thank you thank you. It really is appreciated.

Theswaggyotter · 26/08/2018 22:06

Another sending thanks
I’m not on twitter but appreciate what you are doing

Creepycaterpillar · 26/08/2018 22:08

Graham is definitely reading this thread. I told him about it and I also told him some GC women seem to have been blocked, he said it is accidental (bot) and he'll unblock you if you can get your names to him somehow. He's really glad that some women feel supported with him speaking out, he said it was really nice to hear and that's what he wants to do, for women to feel supported.

anunseemlylovefordustin · 26/08/2018 22:17

Thank you Graham, for sticking your head above the parapet. I haven't been brave enough to do so yet but I'm gathering courage!

UpstartCrow · 26/08/2018 22:30

Thank you, Graham. What you are doing is very much appreciated Star

LangCleg · 26/08/2018 22:40

Is there anything to be said for saying another mass thank you?

Yeah, of course there is! Cheers, Graham!

sexnotgender · 26/08/2018 22:50

I’m active on Twitter and he is utterly fantastic. It’s so heartening having someone like him speaking up.

VaguelyAware · 26/08/2018 22:53

Love Father Ted. And The IT Crowd. And people who engage their brain for a bit of critical thinking. Can't help but like Glinner, in the circumstances.

tiredandweary · 26/08/2018 23:00

Another one thanking Graham - a little ray of sunshine amidst this shit storm that is currently engulfing us Flowers

Beelin · 26/08/2018 23:07

I always thought he was fab anyway but his stance on this is great. Thanks for your support!

birdbandit · 26/08/2018 23:09

So much hate though on twitter.

Worrying that folk are more wound up by someone talking about someone else doing something horrific, and that someone else having an influence on safeguarding against that horrid thing.

Worrying that folk are more wound up by the talking about it, than the doing of the child torture and rape.

BettyFloop · 26/08/2018 23:11

I don't have any much faith in men these days but Mr Linehan is consistently proving himself to be more of a proper human being. I respect that enormously - and I truly appreciate it. So thank you Glinner, keep up the good work.

It matters.

birdbandit · 26/08/2018 23:11

Folk who publish/publicise their outrage at the talking thing, but offer no outrage at the doing thing, really need to check their moral compass. Grim.

LeatherTuscadero · 26/08/2018 23:11
