I'm not one for posting threads on here but I feel this is quite a sad position for this person and shows how hard it is to maintain a professional stance on this when you are receiving threats and abuse at the levels that are currently happening on the Internet, in no way am I saying this is gender critical people. But this debate as now got to such a level that it is starting to cost people there livelihoods on both sides of this so called debate.

I do wonder why some MTF and FTM transgender people put up with all this lumping people under the transgender umbrella thing.

Anyone can claim to be trans without doing a damn thing about actually being trans.

You can claim to be trans, claim to be a victim and claim to be speaking for the very people that you are disrespecting in the first place.

Just as an aside, so far in the public discourse we've have predominantly male transgender people who identify as women, and mainly white males.

This is changing now I think.

We are now seeing a big rise in mainly white males who are either gay men or non-binary who are now trying to dominate the public discourse. Harrop, Jessen, Murray, Liam Hackett and Owen Jones. Carl Austin-Behan who thinks Labour should kick out women for being concerned about women's rights.

It is like a hierarchy asserting itself:

  1. White men who don't identify as women
  2. White men who do identify as women
  3. Women at the bottom of course, no matter how they identify

Edward Lord identifies as non-binary (preferred pronouns they/their)

"I am non binary because I am a feminist; because I hate toxic masculinity; because I want to bring an end to partiarchy and misogyny; and because I feel love affinity and solidarity for trans and queer siblings whatever gender"

Edward Lord also spoke out about the 'Get the L Out' protest by lesbians in similar terms to Gregor Murray:

They commented,
"And let me be quite clear, the message of those eight individuals who claimed to represent a ‘silenced majority’ of lesbians who want to #GettheLOut of the LGBT community saying that they feel oppressed by trans women, is nothing short of man-hating, trans-hating bigoted bunkum. The #LwiththeT social media backlash of many hundreds of lesbians standing proudly alongside their trans siblings has put the lie to the TERF claim that they represent anyone other than their own unpleasant selves"

I was going to have look and be suitably sympathetic

But now everyone said its that dreadful man who was so rude to people on social media my sympathy has disappeared

Now if the link had been about someone trans or not who had been drummed out of their job just for holding a particular position then that would be different

And we know that definitely happens

I have zero sympathy for someone in the public eye in a position of responsibility who is racist or abusive PUBLICLY!!! And then needs to resign as they have made their position untenable...None!

Ereshkigal · 11/08/2018 10:25

Not sure where the Fisher bit comes in.

Isn't that just an affectation in the Twitter handle? Gregor Fisher is the actor who played Rab C Nesbitt I think.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 11/08/2018 10:27

Sorry...should go without saying abusive, sexist, agist, homophobic, islamaphobic, racist

Calling people bigots etc

NaturalBornWoman · 11/08/2018 10:29

Exactly what is non binary about gregor? Born biologically male, presents as male, revels in his male privilege?

Exactly, what does it even mean? He is 100% conforming to stereotypical gender norms.

TheBatPig · 11/08/2018 10:31

Looked at this persons twitter. retweets evidence of some of the abuse they received. Yet what the tweets actually show is evidence of them being abusive to women and being pulled up on that. It's bizarre especially when they admitted the abusive tweets. The cheek of now trying to claim they are a victim is astounding.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 11/08/2018 10:31

Real men don't wear sparkley wellies silly!

Cartertheunstoppablesexmachine · 11/08/2018 10:31

Bespin, you certainly put a good spin on this, but it's as clear as a man's cock and balls that this is cock and bull.

A vile bully has shown their true colours yet sympathy called on.

Not acceptable.

Popchyk · 11/08/2018 10:33

I think for some people, non-binary is less problematic for them to say to the world than "gay".

Unfortunately.

NotMeOhNo · 11/08/2018 10:34

Haven't RTFT but this charming individual is a gift to the gender critical campaign: Britain's own home grown Danielle Muscato. And how wonderful that they identify as non-binary. I hope they are used extensively to help educate the public about gender ideology.

Ginmakesitallok · 11/08/2018 10:34

Wait! I think I've got it! Gregor is one of us!! He's Dundee's very own man Friday! This whole thing has been manufactured by him to highlight how ridiculous the whole non-binary thing is. Well done gregor. BRAVO!!! (Apart from the terf and cunty stuff. I haven't quite worked out where that fits in)

TimeLady · 11/08/2018 10:34

It looks as though Murray is a bloke who likes a bit of sparkle, but doesn't consider himself a girl.

Nothing wrong with that; but it's not transgender.

RiceandBeans · 11/08/2018 10:34

This person - calling themselves "non-binary" and "trans" but behaving in ways that are very similar to a rabid misogynist mentally unwell man objected to public organisations being required to have a minimum of 40% female representation.

NOT EVEN HALF to represent 51% of the population.

However "transgender" and fucking non-binary this person thinks they are, let's judge them by what they DO:

which is to resist female equality, call women cunts and bitches.

On the basis of that behaviour, this person, whatever they are, is exhibiting toxic masculine behaviour.

They need psychiatric help for such deep hatred and sociopathy.

NotMeOhNo · 11/08/2018 10:34

Also, trancel

Charliethefeminist · 11/08/2018 10:34

Like the BBC didn't bother reporting the original anti-woman scandal, an elected official calling lesbians 'cunts'. But this 'victimhood' is worthy of BBC attention. What stupendous hypocrisy.

NotBuiltForThisWorld · 11/08/2018 10:39

For anyone not aware, 'roaster' is an incel insult meaning a woman who is so old/ such a slut/had so much sex her labia looks like roast beef. (Showing a certain level of ignorance about labias there, but that's telling in itself)...

It's as bad as 'cunt' in my opinion and no one in any kind of position of standing should be using language anywhere close to that.

Ereshkigal · 11/08/2018 10:40

It's a classic narcissist reversal, a fine example of DARVO. The more outrageous the reversal the better.

YY! I would certainly crowdfund for Gregor to present a programme with Edward Lord and Jess Bradley on this subject.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/08/2018 10:45

Irrespective of how they identify, this person has demonstrated that they should not be a Scout Leader.

TimeLady · 11/08/2018 10:46

Let's hope that this thread doesn't come back and haunt Gregor Fisher Murray (or Gregor Fisher or Gregor Patrick Murray), currently living in Dundee, when he goes looking for a proper job.

"Those who live by the sword....."

R0wantrees · 11/08/2018 10:46

NotBuiltForThisWorld Shock
I had no idea.
How incredibly appalling!

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 11/08/2018 10:48

Or anywhere near kids esp girls, who are wanting to learn about science. As he thinks they are cunts. Bringing the Dundee Science Centre into disrepute.

NotBuiltForThisWorld · 11/08/2018 10:55

DP has just corrected me and said it's a generic insult in Scotland not necessarily a misogynistic one so I may concede Greg was just being generally insulting!

RiceandBeans · 11/08/2018 10:56

All I can say is

GOOD RIDDANCE

Any elected official who claims victim status but opposes 50:50 representation of men and women on public bodies is a misogynist sociopath.
