A woman is an adult female human

Pratchet · 03/07/2018 10:18

Of the sex whose reproductive role is to gestate and bear young.

Let's just say this while we still can. Because it's true, and however many people try to make us lie about it, or remain silent, it will always be true.

In times of universal deceit, speaking the truth is a revolutionary act.

It hurts MY feelings to see 'transwomen are women'. It damages MY mental health to see that, it makes ME feel erased and MY identity feel destroyed. I have a voice and I deserve that voice. WE deserve it.

I am Spartacus. A woman is an adult female human. Sex is binary, immutable and defined by reproductive role.

If you report me, or get me banned you shoot the messenger. Because this is true and will always be true. And this day, this day of a lie, I WILL say it.

I am so so disappointed in MNHQ.

You have to ask - what are they so scared of? Advertisers, ?TRAs? the truth?

Please MN grow a collective spine and remember that in the days long before you became a multi million pound business you were a forum for women - that's real women in case you'd forgotten.

Lottapianos · 03/07/2018 18:44

'I will no longer be told that my female biological experiences are worthless and that I am a costume for men to wear.'

Exactly. Fuck that. 'Woman' must not be allowed to become reduced to a feeling in a man's head

blackdoggotmytongueagain · 03/07/2018 18:46

superbstarling- in the current climate it is almost impossible to verify identity and authenticity to access safe gender critical spaces, because they are deliberately targeted by trans activists posing as GC women to infiltrate. If you are in the UK, my suggestion is to go along to any one of the many meetings that are being held so that you can meet people face to face and build community. You can then access GC spaces in this way. It’s not you - really - and it isn’t personal - really. I can’t access the other forum either - I’ve serially namechanged since having my rl email address and password linked to my username and splashed on tinternet during jeffreygate - so I also de-reg and re-reg all the time. I deliberately make it hard to be identified online because I don’t want to be doxxed and have my job and country of residence threatened. It’s pretty ironic because my own internet security measures render me unverifiable Grin
I understand your frustration. But if you are in the UK, get thee to a meeting and build rl community. Good luck x

I wonder if there's a legal case brewing....

Alltheprettyseahorses · 03/07/2018 18:53

Agree with every word of the OP.

A woman is an adult female human. It is a universal constant: gender identity in the UK is irrelevant to that in other countries of the word. The only thing that stays the same is the female body. No one believes otherwise, no matter how much a tiny, tiny minority display their woke cookies.

You women are amazing. :)

Floisme · 03/07/2018 19:02

Good grief. I am normally a bit of a goody-two-shoes on here - I even agreed with WTGLWGH. But what the fucking fuck MNHQ?

There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said already but anyway:
A woman is an adult human female. You can try and change words - and even the law - as much as you like but you can't change that.

GurlwiththeCurl · 03/07/2018 19:17

Thank you to all of the wonderful GC women posting on here. Thank you to the OP for posting this thread. I cannot really articulate my feelings very well and cannot get to any meetings as I am bedridden with chronic illness, but I am here with you all, sisters.

I have been on MN for years and am now so angered and disappointed by MNHQ’s stance. In the light of Justine’s comments about free speech only a few months ago, I cannot understand how or why MN are caving in now.

Did they employ a lot of new staff and interns from Goldsmiths?

DH has been begging me to stop reading about this issue as he fears it is affecting my mental health, but I cannot stop as I fear SelfID is the biggest threat to women’s rights in my lifetime. I will do anything I can to support those more able than me.

Thank you all for beautifully articulating the thoughts I am too upset to write coherently.

MNHQ, I am gobsmacked by your stance today.

superbstarling · 03/07/2018 19:28

Thanks Blackdog I will look into meetings as I am in the UK.I realise now it is not personal, just a bit shocked at the time. Smile

Good for you. Please stick around. We need you.

ReluctantCamper · 03/07/2018 19:42

this is the first time I have posted on this thread, so hopefully that means my words won't be considered to be weapons.....

Women are adult humans of the reproductive class that produces eggs and bears live young.

People of the reproductive class that produces sperm are not and cannot become women.

Men are not, can never become women.

Shame, shame, SHAME on you @MNHQ for your behaviour on this thread.

Seeing a government minister state TWAW makes me incredibly angry.

Seeing you @MNHQ trying to prevent people standing against such egregious bollocks makes me angry and very, very sad.

Why is making women feel welcome on Mumsnet less important than making men feel welcome @MNHQ?

Maryzsnewaccount · 03/07/2018 19:50

I'm only just catching up having turned off my laptop in disgust.

I presume from now on that Mumsnet are going to delete any thread where more than half a dozen posters make the same point?

Get rid of the entire aibu, most of relationships, step-parenting and anything at all in politics where people, erm, agree.

Right, that'll work.

Maryzsnewaccount · 03/07/2018 19:51

I do hope, also, that MN are deleting every instance of more than one poster on a thread saying "transwomen are women", that being an inflammatory statement and all.

Maryzsnewaccount · 03/07/2018 19:51

Obviously the TWAW argument also has the disadvantage of being a stonking great LIE.

But I suppose I'll be deleted for that.

MrsRRR · 03/07/2018 19:52

Just had a deletion e mail from mnhq for my post pointing out the male narcissism of TRAs

No doubt this one will go the same way soon...

Biology isn't bigotry

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 03/07/2018 19:54

Is anyone else wondering why MNHQ have stopped commenting on this thread?

Maybe all the -aunts- mods are huddled in the office trying to come to some consistent agreement about the new guidelines.

MrsRRR · 03/07/2018 19:55

Transwomen are not women.

They are men who have had a rudimentary vagina crafted by surgeons and who take strong hormones to suppress their own biological ones.

They have to use synthetic lubrication as, you know, it's not a real vagina! and stretchers to keep the orrifice open - otherwise it would heal over.

It is INSANE to me that we are having to point this out!

Maryzsnewaccount · 03/07/2018 19:57

They are hoping that it'll fill up soon.

If it does I'm starting another one.

I'm fucking furious. It's gone beyond a joke now, MN (or the mods at least) have firmly picked a side, and that side is squarely on the side of undermining and belittling women, ignoring their concerns - and allowing child abuse by untested pharmaceuticals, just as a bit of a side order.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/07/2018 19:58

Maybe they belatedly realised the wisdom of letting women assert their considered opinions, and that any attempt to suppress this would be, well, inflammatory?

ErrolTheDragon · 03/07/2018 20:01

The app doesn't show the thread count, beyond 99 it's just ... so some of us have no idea when we're nearing the end.

AtreidesFreeWoman · 03/07/2018 20:02

Lurkers - I fear we are at crunch point, so please make your views known if you are able to do so.

My life has been irrefutably shaped by my biology.

Crippling periods though my A levels and still having to work through that to get to Uni.

Working in a male dominated industry where maternity leave meant leaving a career or going back to work after 4 months with leaking breasts.

This was after recovering from a tear at birth from which there was complications.

A year ago having a coil removed that turned out to be faulty. The pain was so extreme I passed out at the local surgery. I was hospitalised. My cervix is buggered.

These are some of the experiences I have as a WOMAN.

I don't deny the indignity of having a prostate check. But activists seem to compare my experiences???

Or worse emulate them - used tampon anyone???

@MNHQ make a stand or don't. The splinters up you're arse from fence sitting must be very painful.

And rebrand to transnet
