How will we know if we have lost good women?

I fear we will lose some of our strongest most vibrant voices, torn down by the current wordspeak policies..... Can we keep a record here of those we lose? I do NOT want to forget them.

I thought it was so telling that the GC would have happily kept all language (even the abhorrent Cis and Terf) ... while the trans-allies wanted to curtail as much speech as they possibly could....

To all strong GC voices - Please DO NOT leave us - your voice counts for more here than on any other forum.... Mumsnet is watched by the world and will be responsible for our keeping women and girls safe .... even if you have to clip your wings a little to get your message across, please hang on in here ... IT IS SO IMPORTANT

pratchet

I agree

That doesn't say its going to stay at all

Not at all

Its saying if you obey the rules we will let it stay

Not 'under the circumstances you can word your posts how you like'

Big fucking deal Hmm

Abused women are allowed to have a support thread as long as they aren't rude about their abusers on it. Obviously if anyone reports the abused women for being rude, we'll deal with them the pesky opinionated nuisances that they are

What the fuck is going on?

Pratchet · 16/06/2018 19:17

It's a shambles. We need to keep tabs on this.

Maryz · 16/06/2018 19:20

In fact, abused women should be able to say whatever the fuck they like about their abusers on here, a site that is meant to be supportive of women.

MNHQ should accept NO reports about that type of thread from anyone who hasn't been an active member here for a while.

The thought of people signing up just to tear apart, criticise and report posts of women who have suffered appalling abuse makes me feel sick.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 16/06/2018 19:25

Yep

Agreeing completely with maryz last two posts

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 16/06/2018 19:27

Yep yep yep

There should be something in place to stop people doing this

ALTHOUGH... ive just remembered that MNHQ lets people not even registered to mumsnet to complain...so the lazy git wont even have to sign up

SophoclesTheFox · 16/06/2018 19:29

YY maryz

Completely unacceptable level of gaslighting.

Datun · 16/06/2018 19:30

That thread will stay. There is no way the women on it will be deleted. It will be exactly the same kind of abuse they are describing on the thread.

Ereshkigal · 16/06/2018 19:34

I once witnessed a transactivist and group of baying handmaidens bully women on a FB group for abuse related PTSD when the transactivist was politely asked to leave the women only group. And screenshot their posts and doxx them in other groups before they managed to block them.

TinselAngel · 16/06/2018 19:36

The proof of the pudding is in the eating obviously, but I'm confident MNHW aren't going to try and silence us.

I think they will move heaven and earth not to

But i also think that it may need to be 'protected' like the SN board

TinselAngel · 16/06/2018 19:47

The thread has been there for all to see for some time now. If people were going to try and make arguments against our experiences I think they would have done so already.

Pratchet · 16/06/2018 19:55

I have seen a few 'widows' strands but would never intervene as it seems a very private sorrow. At the same time it expose the tactics in a very raw way. I think the women there should direct what happens. God knows they need to get some control back.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 16/06/2018 19:58

Yes

I understand your point

And i hope you are right Thanks

TinselAngel · 16/06/2018 20:11

I don't want my thread to be something that people worried about the new guidelines use to beat MNHQ. Certainly not before any interference has actually happened.
