What if we fail?

I find myself worrying about where we will be 2, 5, 10, 20 years from now if we fail to stop the tide that, just now, with the GRA reforms, threatens to redefine the meaning of the word woman, erase lesbians and damage a generation of children.

I'm not saying we should give up: anything but. In fact, I think it might be an important motivating factor to consider what else might happen if our MPs continue to enshrine lies into laws.

What will come next?

Actually, that was a rushed and incomplete comment - my apologies. But no matter - it's easy to clarify. Essentially, 0.6% of the population is trans, so when you fail, a small number of people you call men will be recognised as women and small number of people you call women will be recognised as men. And, a small group of vulnerable children will be getting the help they need.

Everything else will probably be pretty much the same.

Essentially, you have already failed - I have "girl" on my birth certificate, and I am recognised as female both legally and socially (that's right - I'm one of those scary trans women who passes), and puberty suppression followed by cross sex hormones are becoming the standard protocol in relevant trans child cases.

Eventually there will be a backlash. A massive backlash. I hope it'll come from feminists, but it might not.

The backlash is happening. It may have "come" from feminists, I'm not sure, but it's gaining momentum. People are peak transing all the time.
I don't buy the "men are invested in this" rhetoric.
Pretty much every man who becomes aware of something like e.g. Hampstead Ponds, changes from "that can't be right", to "is it?" to "that's ridiculous".
People can only oppose things when they are aware of it, and more and more people are becoming aware of it.
This includes men, so if it is a feminist movement or backlash now, it will broaden out eventually.

We may fail. Even people right at the top are afraid of transactivists.

You have a GRC, the children need support & you say treatment.

Can you see that self id has many real potential issues for women's safety? You want to be in the women's changing room etc presumably you wouldnt like it if a man walked in freely?

I'm not sure how they could shut it down but I've seen plenty of gay men online expressing support for women. I don't think all of them are doing nothing.

This is something thats never made se4nse to me at all. TRAs claim they use the womens as they are scared of male violence. Lets assume thats true, rather than it being about validation. So TRAs use the womens to escape violent blokes. But then they also fight for self ID. Thus meaning, the same violent blokes that TRAs are using the womens to escape, can now follow them into the womens?

Based on the fact that the worst thing that has happened in the loo so far is that some men gave the transgender identified males the side eye I am guessing the "we need to use women as human shields to protect us from male violence" argument is a lie.

The TRAs are shooting themselves in the foot. The funding for NHS treatment will dry up. Maybe the good side will be unnecessary procedures won't get done, but also counselling and other genuine support might not happen.

Trans people need care and support and they will not get it. I wish the TRAs would see the harm that is being done to genuine trans people and gender non-conforming children, especially girls.
