freedomnews.org.uk/its-spelt-sisterhood-not-cis-terhood-statement/

a little taster of the content, not my words....

"We are disgusted by the TERF techniques of bullying trans people and their friends and comrades. TERFs stand against a vulnerable minority by refusing their right to exist, using their dead names, doxxing them, smearing them online and in the press and waging a fear campaign, all whilst accusing trans women of being a possible legal and physical threat to cis women. These techniques are not consistent with their announced aim of getting legislation refused by parliament and belie the TERFs real agenda of intolerance.

We are sick and tired of TERF alarmism. There is no evidence that trans women are in any way a threat to cis women. To the contrary, there is a lot of evidence that TERFs feed the prejudice against trans women. The countries which introduced their own versions of GRA are not experiencing the problems the TERFs associate with allowing trans people to determine their own gender."

I bet I know what would happen if one of us were to go on a trans board.
MN would seem hostile to anyone offering a contradictory opinion. It’s robust but largely polite rather than vicious and hostile.

Noqonterfi · 23/05/2018 22:21

Frikin arseholes blocking the stairs. Utterly pathetic. Trying to shut down conversation won't work though. That's guaranteed.

AngryAttackKittens · 23/05/2018 22:36

How do you even get to be this stupid?

Years of practice. It helps to spend the bulk of your time trying desperately to reconcile wanting to be a feminist with not wanting men to dislike you. The resulting cognitive dissonance apparently produces migraines so severe that blatant nonsense starts to seem reasonable, or at least like a good way of avoiding a Twitter mobbing.

PencilsInSpace · 23/05/2018 22:42

We are sick to the back teeth with the violence, threats of violence, incitement to violence, aggression, intimidation and silencing from this bunch of activists.

Nobody doubts you exist. Your existence is very obvious when you are threatening violence, condoning violence, inciting violence, committing violence against us. We notice that shit. We notice who's doing it. We notice you.

Now this debate is starting to hit the mainstream everybody else is starting to notice you too. And how you behave. And what you're demanding and how ludicrous and dangerous your demands are.

crispbuttyfan · 23/05/2018 22:44

Noqonterfi
Nope you didn't crisp. You supplied evidence that women are supportive of trans people in so far that they don't wish them any harm, think they should live their lives however they wish, which no doubt is true. I certainly believe that. You provided no evidence that the majority of women are in support of self ID, despite you repeating over and over again that they are. The only evidence (provided by someone else) actually shows the majority of women ARE NOT in favour of self ID. I'll ignore the childish comment. I know you're just lashing out because you have no evidence and you feel backed into a corner. Which is why you vanished. That's ok. I understand ;-)

I showed you a study that stated quite clearly 70%+ of women are happy to share a bathroom with a trans woman.

But keep trying to elevate that panelbase nonsense as though it has any merit whatsoever, I really don't care that much about whats said on some daft forum board... it has no bearing on real life, or actual laws, 8 year old laws that work perfectly well...... obviously not in the minds of some of the cranks on here, but in actual real life.

And this particular line.... "I know you're just lashing out because you have no evidence and you feel backed into a corner. Which is why you vanished. That's ok. I understand ;-)" this is hilarious, get over yourself... is this some sort of spanish inquisition now? You greatly overestimate your ability to bother me..... sheesh!! too funny.

I have to say that I am loving the fact that this is getting into the public arena because I haven't really seen a lot of support for the identity politics. Outside of some privileged middle class white students that is.

LaSqrrl · 23/05/2018 22:57

Well said Pencils

crispbuttyfan · 23/05/2018 22:57

busyboysmum

It works both ways, most anti-trans groups are in the majority run by very white middle class people....... and use middle class privileged or 'academics' to shore up their support in the media.

Working class people are generally much more aware of oppression, or have too much on their minds to spread misinformation or campaign against trans rights.

Really? I must have blinked and missed that one. Do post it again. (Although it still doesn't address the percentage of women that you claim are happy with self ID does it?!?)

R0wantrees · 23/05/2018 22:59

Outside of some privileged middle class white students that is.

I think that the more that is understood about the influence that some groups have had within NUT, the more people will be concerned.

Noqonterfi · 23/05/2018 23:00

But keep trying to elevate that panelbase nonsense as though it has any merit whatsoever

Provide your alternative poll then showing where the majority of women support self ID, as you claim they do.. Quite a few people have asked you to, yet your reluctance is apparent. Why is that? Because you haven't got one?

HerFemaleness · 23/05/2018 23:02

Show me a study that says 70%+ of women are happy to strip naked and shower with fully intact transwomen.

Noqonterfi · 23/05/2018 23:03

You greatly overestimate your ability to bother me..... sheesh!! too funny.

Just a mild observation my dear ;-)

LightofaSilveryMoon · 23/05/2018 23:04

Is apple blossom tea even a thing? Organic, too!

Noqonterfi · 23/05/2018 23:04

Show me a study that says 70%+ of women are happy to strip naked and shower with fully intact transwomen

Crisp needs a little bit of time to write that study first ;-)

PencilsInSpace · 23/05/2018 23:08

After Speakers Corner, Joss Prior in particular behaved extremely badly by creating a false narrative called the 'zapruder interpretation' which was shared very widely because lots of people wanted it to be maria's own fault that she was punched repeatedly in the face.

I don't know what 'zapruder interpretation' is supposed to mean but I know victim blaming lies when I see them.

crispbuttyfan · 23/05/2018 23:10

for the the third and last time on this forum, I will post the social attitudes link, then go away and give somebody else the pleasure of your weird haranguing nonsense..... btw I also noticed you have changed the framing of the question about three times now.... whatever.... but if you go back I said, 70%+ are happy to share a bathroom...its 72% actually...

But as I'm aware sea-lioning is a huge problem on here whenever someone trans supportive comes along, rest assured we are done.

Yes, I would happily share a bathroom with one or two transwomen I know well, just as I would with some of the men I know well. That might be what some of the survey responses mean; or, given how few people are at all well up on the terminology, it could mean they don't mind sharing with female people who identify as trans. Who knows? Was 'transwoman' defined before asking the question?

Random strangers, no thanks. I'd like things to be single-sex.

crispbuttyfan · 23/05/2018 23:13

Pencils I dont really think thats in any way relevant to the post.... how weird.

OP posts:
KittiesInsane · 23/05/2018 23:14

See, I'd take 'transgender woman' to mean 'actually female'...

KittiesInsane · 23/05/2018 23:14

Or would have, I mean, before reading about it more.

Noqonterfi · 23/05/2018 23:17

Meh. Still doesn't address your claim that the majority of women support self ID. Got your evidence for that now?

HerFemaleness · 23/05/2018 23:18

Joss Prior doing a grand Chico Marx impression there ''"Who ya gonna believe, me or your own eyes?"
