This was an interesting read. It seems IW has taken to channeling Katie Hopkins. I'm not going to try and pull it apart as there is so so much wrong with it...

"I’m sure most people who use the site are decent folk. They want nothing to do with the rabid mouth-frothing going on by so-called “feminists.”"

Owners aren't usually editors.

Can we not do the looks thing?

Yes, I was thinking that. Whether someone passes or looks old or young should be irrelevant, IMO. Content of character is what matters, not appearance.

AssassinatedBeauty · 24/04/2018 22:49

They go low we go high, surely?

It doesn't matter what anyone looks like, or how feminine or not they are. What should be being discussed here is content of what was written in the article. Which is clearly a load of sexist nonsense.

LangCleg · 24/04/2018 22:53

I also think it is very easy to decry India without being obnoxious about looks. After all, India is intent on giving us plenty of appearance-unrelated material to work with. It's not as though we'll run out of critique any time soon!

SirVixofVixHall · 24/04/2018 23:25

@OlennasWimple Yes, exactly. I hadn’t read your post when I posted or I would have name checked you then as well as teacup. It is startlingly offensive to appropriate the holocaust in this way.

SirVixofVixHall · 24/04/2018 23:28

@RefuseToDenounceBiology Not whiskey, meths...

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 24/04/2018 23:32

The fuckers will appropriate anything. I would ask 'what next' but it's hard to work out what could be going on in their heads

We will be likened to Boko Haram next or something.

annandale · 24/04/2018 23:50

Prams?

I just...

Biscuit

I remember my first thread. About breastfeeding. While i was still bleeding from giving birth and still had stitches holding together the third degree tear in my vagina. I posted because the thing I was supposed to be able to do with my sexed body to feed a human didn't work. Women replied to help me at all hours of the day and night.

Prams. This isn't a fucking consumer magazine. Or a daytime TV programme. I know it's only mumsnet. But that experience of real women saying real things to each other has kept me coming back for over fourteen years. How dare you, India.

Trumpdump · 25/04/2018 00:59

I wonder if mn could take legal action over this? It's slander!

MrsUnderwood · 25/04/2018 06:33

over in America there are actual Nazi rallies happening, complete with burning swastikas. India needs to pull their head out of their arse and get some fucking perspective.

Pratchet · 25/04/2018 06:43

Transactivists have been comparing their suffering to tjsgnif the Jews for s long time and IW is trying to get some friends back after his car crash BB, surely. TRA will appropriate anything, terrorism, racism, homophobia, abortion, to claim victimhood. For Pink News and IW to do it is desperate.

user1497863568 · 25/04/2018 06:49

My family fought the Nazi's in WW2. Thousands of us died. Slick bastards. To see them doing it all over again re oil grabs etc is really distressing... and the amount of collaboration at the top :(

Feminists being called nazis is neither new nor original. Gah.

LangCleg · 25/04/2018 08:36

It's not only Mumsnet. Mumsnet is great. Women speak here - about whatever they want - without male supervision. And because they are women, many of the real things they speak about are exclusionary of India as they are rooted in the real lives women live and trans people do not. India experiences this unavoidable exclusion as narcissistic injury. Hence the rage.

Ereshkigal · 25/04/2018 08:58

Exactly this.

Beyond11cisRetinol · 25/04/2018 09:33

Ah yes Annandale, my very first post was about the 2ww. I bet India has worried about that one a lot...

DH was more interested in finding the right pram. As he planned on pushing it, but couldn't find one designed for pushing by people who are 6'2.

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 25/04/2018 09:34

We will be likened to Boko Haram next or something.

Fully expecting TERFs to be likened to ISIS any day now. What with all our 'literal violence' and all.

I agree that Pink News is totally slandering MN and I really wonder if MN should start taking action.

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 25/04/2018 09:40

You have hit the nail on the head. When some trans women come to the realisation that the lived experience of women isn't just about high heels, make up and being comically bitchy, they can't cope with it at all.

MetalMidget · 25/04/2018 09:50

I liked the Hitler speech where he complained about his neighbour constantly parking across his driveway, and how he was going to install some penguin bollards. I think he covered the same story in the third chapter of 'Mein Kampf' .
