This was an interesting read. It seems IW has taken to channeling Katie Hopkins. I'm not going to try and pull it apart as there is so so much wrong with it...

"I’m sure most people who use the site are decent folk. They want nothing to do with the rabid mouth-frothing going on by so-called “feminists.”"

@MadBadDaddy Everyone is someone's bad guy, but it must be especially hard if you're trans and the TRAs hate you.

I don't believe Willoughby has had an epiphany on self-ID. Willoughby's views on pre-op trans people were too strong and dismissive for that:

Unless you are transitioning, stay out of the ladies. Pulling on a frock as and when the mood takes doesn’t cut it. You don’t have a God-given right to go into female-only spaces.

That might make some dressers cross, but it’s the truth. As much for your own safety as that of transgender women. The word has been hijacked. The last few weeks have been ridiculous. Child-killer Ian Huntley reportedly saying he’s trans. A sex-offender on the run who dresses now and again described by cops as ‘transgender’. A white woman claiming to be black who says her struggle is identical to that of transgender women.

No, no, no.

I’m fed up of being expected to bite my lip out of solidarity, while arguments rage about why men who dress up should have all the rights of transgender women. They shouldn’t. Transgender has become a horrible, vague word that makes no distinction between someone with a medical condition requiring intervention, and a bloke who likes to frock-up once a week.

IW has some strange views for a woman- there was the tweet just after the whole metoo thing empathising with men on what a difficult year they were having - and the rest of course. It’s almost as if India likes to point the finger at women.

Yes indeed. Almost as if they'd have to shout "I AM A REAL WOMAN!!!!" at women, over and over, to force us to (pretend to) believe it.

Nextloorejext · 24/04/2018 19:44

India is just feeling alone. India snubbed and looked down on the dodgy looking non passing part time TW and cross dressers - India thought she could by bypass and didn’t need the whole trans community and wanted to distance herself and pass into general society - Big Brother must have been quite a traumatic shock to realise that wasn’t going to be easy. India has gone running back to curry favour and beg forgiveness and protection with the trans community eho she constantly dissed.

RadicalFern · 24/04/2018 19:46

Do you think we can get Hugo Boss to do the uniforms? M&S is a bit passé.

UpstartCrow · 24/04/2018 19:52

There isnt a single correct fact in that entire rant.

We know girls have been in Scouts for years, but they haven't been sleeping in the same tents. Because of safeguarding and risk assessments.
Which is the opposite of the situation in the Girl Guides.

R0wantrees · 24/04/2018 19:57

India's recent Twitter timeline shows quite clearly the source of influence: much posting of Guiliana and Mimmymum.
Two very busy accounts.

NotTerfNorCis · 24/04/2018 19:58

We know girls have been in Scouts for years, but they haven't been sleeping in the same tents

Yes exactly. And boys and girls go on school trips together, but they don't share the same shower rooms and sleeping areas. Whereas if a boy was claiming to be a girl then he would be.

SophoclesTheFox · 24/04/2018 20:02

Love that cartoon!

Noqonterfy · 24/04/2018 20:03

You are allowed whatever personal boundaries you want. But you don’t get to claim the term feminist until that boundary is inclusive of, and you promote the freedom and liberation of ALL women, including transwomen. Cause transwomen are women.

Lol. Another man trying to tell natal women what they do and don't get to be. Bless.

Thanksforthatamazingpost · 24/04/2018 20:10

Sandy- shouldn't the cartoon say "If you didn't say Hitler Start reading pink news.."
or
"if you said HItler Stop reading pink news."

TerfsUp · 24/04/2018 20:12

IW is a ninny.

flowersonthepiano · 24/04/2018 20:17

Comment below cartoon "But what if Hitler identifies as an Elderly Korean Lady?" GrinGrinGrin

ChinnyReckon1 · 24/04/2018 20:19

Hyperbole.

MN is guilty of it too though to be fair.

SpiderwebHammock · 24/04/2018 20:21

Last week was my first ever visit to Mumsnet. Honestly, I thought it was going to be lots of stuff about prams, or family-related matters. A sort of online This Morning minus Phil and Holly. The reality is more like a Nuremberg Rally. It’s very scary.

Confused

Now that's just silly.

Bejazzled · 24/04/2018 20:24

When IW opens their mouth, the maleness comes out. They might want to work on that

There isn't an operation for male-brain as far as I'm aware.

DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg · 24/04/2018 20:25

I thought it was going to be lots of stuff about prams, or family-related matters

Christ - if only, I've lived through Penis Beakers, Yoni Massage, umpteen parking/garden fence/washing discussions, and been enraged and unbelievably saddened by relationships.

I come to FWR for a rest and a sensible chat.. and a bit of feminist education and occasional activism of course.

India really needs to remove head from arse - because the nonsense being spouted just makes crystal clear that women, and what women actually talk about (not that different from men, plus biological stuff) is embarrasingly stereotyped.

DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg · 24/04/2018 20:27

Also, Reluctant has to stop making amusing comments, because I've just had to explain this thread to DP, and he's baffled - and the poor dear just can't cope (he's doing the forehead rubbing thing...)

TerfAndSerf · 24/04/2018 20:30

Surely only the menfolk really know what women should be thinking about?

I'll take my tongue out of my cheek now, or else I'll never eat my Snickers bar....

DoctorTwo · 24/04/2018 20:32

I got banned from Twitter for saying a bloke in a frock is a bloke in a frock so I'll just refrain from offering an opinion.

Apparently it's hate speech, but "Kill all Terfs" deserves freedom of speech. Not my opinion obvs, just an observation

TERFousBreakdown · 24/04/2018 20:36

"Fell for the hysteria [...] nazis"

Pot, I'd like to introduce you to a dear old friend of mine. This is kettle.

2rebecca · 24/04/2018 20:37

Lots of men don't hate women though. My job and most of my hobbies are mixed sex and we generally get on fine. I find the transwomen are women and have always been women m to f transsexuals seem to hate women who disagree with them more than many men who can cope with agreeing to disagree.
