Transcript of her interrogation disciplinary interview with Labour on above link.

The term Orwellian is way overused, but I think it is actually applicable here.

Particularly noticeable to me was the insistence on not just looking at the the facts, but at what she was thinking. I didn't realise thought crime was a thing outside of dystopian fiction.

I feel sorry for Venice, it came across that Labour was very much part of who she was.

Interestingly the interrogator stated 'Runnibng man' Eddie Izzard is a woman then used 'He' as a pronoun.HmmGrin

I am embarrassed I was once a member and voted Corbyn the first time. I apologise to the Nation.Blush

Wow. The clocks in the LP really are striking thirteen.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/03/2018 09:56

Wow. I'm just reading through this transcript now. It is horrifying. Huge stress being placed on how Venice's insistence on stating that trans-identifying men are men will hurt their feelings and Labour will be perceived as an unwelcoming place. Her reply that Labour doesn't feel like a welcoming place for women at the moment is just brushed aside.

The House of Commons is a bruising place. I can't see that a person whose feelings are that easily hurt really belongs in politics.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 08/03/2018 10:08

Bloody hell! That is the stuff of nightmares and novels.

Utterly ludicrous!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/03/2018 10:12

Here's an excerpt. I can hardly believe what I'm reading.

***
D: In Item C1 you reply to a post by Paris Lees. She says, “If it isn’t intersectional it isn’t feminism” and you replied, “If it has a penis it isn’t female”. What do you mean by ‘it’?

V: Just copying the words that are written in Paris’ post. So I’m just changing as little as I can to make my point. I’m not referring to Paris Lees. When I talk about male and female I’m not just talking about humans, I’m talking about all species of the animal kingdom. If it has a penis it isn’t female and that applies to a human or a cat, or any such creature. Paris’ is a general point and so’s mine.

D: So are you or are you not referring to Paris Lees as ‘it’?

V: I’m not referring to Paris Lees as ‘it’. I don’t think you’ll find any evidence on my social media where I’m calling people ‘it’.

D: Do you believe that a reasonable person looking
[at?] this post might assume that you were describing Paris Lees as ‘it’?

V: No, I don’t think so. I don’t think that’s a reasonable assumption to make from that post I’m afraid. I think I said, “If it has a penis it isn’t a woman” I would be talking about a particular person, but as I say that male and female can be used to describe humans but they can also be described generally of any creature.

D: Is feminism a notion that exists in the animal kingdom?

V: No, I’m not talking about feminism. I’m talking about male and female.

D: Yes. My point is…

V: [Overspeaking] Feminism, obviously no. As far as I know is not a belief system amongst animals other than humans.

D: So this is a conversation about feminism?

V: No, this is Paris Lees’ pinned Tweet. Paris Lees says, “If it isn’t intersectional it isn’t female”. I’m not talking about feminism, I’m talking about male and female. If it has a penis it isn’t female. I think it’d be a misunderstanding that post to say that I was referring to Paris or any other person in that way. If you look at my social media profile you can see that I have never described any person as ‘it’.

I feel sorry for Venice, it came across that Labour was very much part of who she was.

Me too. My entire family (and there are a lot of them) were Labour members and activists and also active in the trades union movement all through my childhood and young womanhood. It must be like having your entire extended family shun you for her.

OvaHere · 08/03/2018 10:18

Just ridiculous. A complete witch hunt, these LP officials don't think men are women either they just enjoy the power it gives them to berate, gaslight and sideline women.

Very sorry Venice if you are reading Flowers

TulipsInAJug · 08/03/2018 10:19

Unbelievable. One more 'thought crime' and she'll be sent to the the gulag for 10 years. This is Stalinism.

TulipsInAJug · 08/03/2018 10:23

I hadn't realised that South Islington council has actually passed a motion to say that holding a 'transphobic' belief is an ex-communicable crime.

UpstartCrow · 08/03/2018 10:28

Mccarthyism is alive and well. ''Are you now, or have you ever been a terf''.

JessicaEccles · 08/03/2018 10:30

The whole basis of the - frankly terrifying - interview seems to be that if you believe something that 'hurts' someone else, you deserve to be censured. Or at least sent to the gulag.

hackmum · 08/03/2018 10:34

It really is McCarthyism. Or Stalinism. Any of those ideologies where you could be punished for thinking the wrong thing. And the interview with Venice is very characteristic of those kinds of interrogation, where your words are twisted to mean something else. Any idiot could see what Venice meant by "If it has a penis it isn't female." It's bloody terrifying.

OvaHere · 08/03/2018 10:35

interview seems to be that if you believe something that 'hurts' someone else, you deserve to be censured. Or at least sent to the gulag.

If you believe something that hurts a man they don't give a shit about women feeling offended.

dogendsaredogs · 08/03/2018 10:35

Well I just hope dr Rad fem reads that out on her utube channel as its too much work to read. I may come back to it. Totally Orwellian. Its an all out attack on feminists, labour trans can be as abusive as they like- free pass. Sick.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/03/2018 10:36

Oh holy crap. That's just sinister stuff.

I do hope the DM picks this up. Labour deserve it for this shit.

OvaHere · 08/03/2018 10:37

Venice should hire some good comedic actors to recreate the interview for YouTube Monty Python style!

ShowOfHands · 08/03/2018 10:38
Shock

I despair. I really do.

Are we bringing back witch hunting too?

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 08/03/2018 10:38

You're right Ova

Except it's not funny!

OvaHere · 08/03/2018 10:41

It's not funny Assigned but some biting satire would really highlight how ridiculous it is.

JessicaEccles · 08/03/2018 10:42

If you believe something that hurts a man they don't give a shit about women feeling offended

You are quite right. That sneery line about 'is there feminism in the animal kingdom'! How she did not reply 'OH JUST FUCK OFF', I do not know Angry

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 08/03/2018 10:44

Fuck

This would be less terrifying if it wasn't being implemented by a potential future government

FencingFightingTorture35 · 08/03/2018 10:44

That's utterly Orwellian

terfsRus · 08/03/2018 10:48

That reads like the Galileo trial transcript Shock

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/03/2018 10:48

Thought crime. Orwell, thou shouldst be living at this hour.
