Transcript of her interrogation disciplinary interview with Labour on above link.

The term Orwellian is way overused, but I think it is actually applicable here.

Particularly noticeable to me was the insistence on not just looking at the the facts, but at what she was thinking. I didn't realise thought crime was a thing outside of dystopian fiction.

I feel sorry for Venice, it came across that Labour was very much part of who she was.

Dear Jennifer and Venice. I am not a natural political ally, though I feel strongly about self ID and donated to the crowdfunder. I have felt sometimes that you both come on too strong on these points etc etc. However, I have read/listened to your interviews and I cannot express strongly enough my admiration of your poise. I would have been going berserk if they'd asked me those ridiculous questions and ignored reasonable points about the abuse you'd received. Congratulations and very best of luck with your continuing struggles with the LP.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 09/03/2018 10:15

Where can I see the vid? Anyone?

camomileteadrinker · 09/03/2018 11:38

I wonder what ever happened to Labour being for the many, not the few? Women are the many and trans are the few.

xxmarksthespot · 09/03/2018 11:38

"I remember reading about the kangaroo courts dealing with sexual assault in the SWP which firmly blamed the female victims and shamed them for bringing attention to what had happened and being horrified - I never thought I'd see the day where something similar happened in Labour. WTF."

Same totalitarian and misogynistic streak has always been there in Labour, they've kept it more hidden for a while but it's having a bit of a resurgence lately.

stickyice · 09/03/2018 11:40

chattylion your point about people's views being held to account in review : HR meetings is valid.

The aggressive nature of some of the trans activists I fear will mean they jump on companies and brands too.

I get a chill when I think of lwhat the implication is for everyday women.

I mean how equal pay data will be handled?

So so so many implications.

Kneedeepinunicorns · 09/03/2018 12:38

Probably mentioned in the thread, I'm in a rush, but has anyone tweeted this thread to Janice Turner and any other journalists/ legal bods that are basically sensible? That video should be in the national papers and shared as widely as possible, the general public have the right to know the reality of this Labour party's values and standards, and what they're potentially voting for.

As my handy name change suggests! I've emailed the Guido Fawkes site this morning, linking to this thread.

A lot of the MSM pick up on his stuff.

GuardianLions · 09/03/2018 13:02

I haven't had time to read the thread, but I have the transcript open on a window and keep ducking in to it. VA comes across as so clever and witty - I know that this is really serious and upsetting that the LP has been really important to her, but her rebuttals are just so satisfyingly fearless and spot on.

It does read a bit like a monty python sketch or something though. It would be great to do a re-enactment (ie- only needing vague similar props/toys/brooms/bananas to be characters) so people could watch on youtube

ArcheryAnnie · 09/03/2018 13:15

Alas, the video is marked "removed by the user" when I went to listen!

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 09/03/2018 13:25

@JenniferJames

Are you able to re-link the audio?

The original link has gone.

ChattyLion · 09/03/2018 13:29

Thank you for getting this out there I’ve contacted.. hope Guido goes with it.

JaimesGoldenHand · 09/03/2018 13:30

I found it earlier this morning by searching You Tube for Jennifer James Labour

ChattyLion · 09/03/2018 13:40

stickyice agreed. These threads are turning up so many areas of girls and women’s lives that will be affected very negatively if self ID comes in, it’s really terrifying. Labour are acting as if this legal change has already happened. Sad

ArcheryAnnie · 09/03/2018 13:50

Found it, thanks.

Why the fuck is it any woman's job to "welcome trans women into the Labour community"? Why isn't Madigan - a Labour women's officer who is actively working to get rid of women from the Labour community - up before a fucking panel being asked if Madigan is welcoming women into the Labour community?

I am on these threads again and again arguing against abandoning the Labour party completely (mainly because all the parties are shit on this), but fucking hell Labour are making it difficult.

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 09/03/2018 13:55

Hey Guidio - if you're reading :My thoughts are it is Witchfinder General territory and superstitious to deem a man has transformed into a woman by way of outward appearance. Magical thinking.

This is a male community issue that they should be discussing how to ensure comfort and safety of trans men in their spaces; educating men that they can't become female but they can certainly change their appearance, name etc.

Instead men have thrown the scary issue of 'women's bits' at us and telling us this is what being female is. In particular Owen Jones' insight into women is deemed to be more important than many other voices (bizarrely).

Brains, feelings, thinking, liking, disliking, type,of personality do not mean you are a particular sex. Ovaries and testes and biology get on with that business. A different outward appearance and hormone treatment may be opted for in life, but it does not magically mean you are a female.

This should be a male issue for them to reflect upon, instead they're ducking out and pretending it's transphobia (ridiculous and women aren't being silenced by such attempts at insults).

In fact it's almost going back to the 1970's idea that gay men are effeminate rather than just being men who like men. Just because a man 'feels' female doesn't means he isn't still a man (even after surgery). Men didn't used to feel comfortable with gay men in the changing rooms etc and we've moved on - men need to get over themselves and accept some men are trans and accept them into their changing rooms and ensuring safety.

I'm equally happy with the idea of a third legal definition and spaces if that is the only way to go and a 'heshe' promoun instead of pretending the man has become a she. Heshe is what most people end up saying as it is double speak to try and say the person opposite you is a 'she' when clearly talking to a man.

Either men should step up and be inclusive of trans men or if they can't stomach that debate, then look at the third way. We should not be forced down a hole of doublespeak and thought crime.

JenniferJames · 09/03/2018 13:56

Sorry.. you tube thing needed editing back up now. I was interviewed by @uklabour, last week, after they suspended me in Jan for saying women don't have dicks...

And I'll keep saying it as long as men assume superiority because of THEIR sex.

If people couldn't read sex: how would men know who to talk down to? 🤔

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 09/03/2018 15:24

Apologies : Guido

Datun · 09/03/2018 16:35

And if sex is irrelevant and unreadable what the hell are they identifying with ?

KochabRising · 09/03/2018 16:49

bureau you are absolutely correct.

Why is this issue being foisted on women to bear and be hurt by? It’s men, hurting men if trans women are being attacked in changing rooms. Why is the default response not for the men to sort this out?

I’m reminded once again of Golder Meirs reponse to the call for a Curfew for women after a series of rapes: “But it is the men who are attacking the women. If there is to be a curfew, let the men stay at home.”

aRespectableBureaudeChange · 09/03/2018 16:53

Kochab : yes I'm glad you agree, I think the argument is really topsy turvy thanks to the likes of OJ. It really needs a re-tilt and a full on charge back at questioning men.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 09/03/2018 16:55

Jennifer
You spoke very well. You were articulate and reasonable and you expertly maneuvered the landmines that had been set for you.

Some of those questions were shocking. They were either manipulative in the extreme or naive in the extreme.

I take it your suspension has not been lifted, as the interviewer advised she had the authority to do? What is the next stage?

Good luck to you x

woman11017 · 09/03/2018 16:56

I remember reading about the kangaroo courts dealing with sexual assault in the SWP
I've had dealings with the SWP. That's what this is. Very nasty men.

woman11017 · 09/03/2018 16:59

Very nasty men To qualify this; and some lovely fellow travellers, doing what they think is the right thing.
But it is not the labour party. Or wasn't.

Writersblock2 · 09/03/2018 17:11

It beggars belief that this is reality now. I’m so impressed with how JJ and Venice handled themselves though. How anyone could read/listen to this and not be horrified is beyond me. Really hope pop media picks it up.

MrsWooster · 09/03/2018 17:11

I am going to contact my mp and determine his (natch) perspective on self ID and act accordingly. Perhaps all of us need to do so and notify labour hq and the media of our decisions and reasons.
