Transcript of her interrogation disciplinary interview with Labour on above link.

The term Orwellian is way overused, but I think it is actually applicable here.

Particularly noticeable to me was the insistence on not just looking at the the facts, but at what she was thinking. I didn't realise thought crime was a thing outside of dystopian fiction.

I feel sorry for Venice, it came across that Labour was very much part of who she was.

I saw this on twitter and shared it.

LittleLebowski · 08/03/2018 20:13

Jennifer James, you did really well.Flowers
Can't believe it came to that for you or Venice when some other truly horrible language and awful behaviour from mostly men appears to have been overlooked.
Not a Labour supporter, but I am also a "bedraggled middle-aged woman" and never made a contribution to a political campaign ever before yours. Please do keep going.

JenniferJames · 08/03/2018 20:13

Us dishevelled middle aged women gotta stick together.

Holy shit, it's terrifying.

Wishing you strength, Venice & Jennifer. Hold fast.

Thankyou to both women. I can't see how this can end well for Labour. If they don't expel Jennifer the trans activists will have a enormous tantrum.

xxmarksthespot · 08/03/2018 20:27

Started listening to the JenniferJames interview. What terribly loaded questions

snawdays · 08/03/2018 20:35

It really is strange isn’t it, men have decided that the feelings of transwomen trump safety considerations and rights of women.

I can’t help thinking self ID has made the world a more polarised place, rather than making anyone feel more included or accepted because they’re setup something so ridiculous in the idea that you are whatever you feel like.

DarthArts · 08/03/2018 20:37

JJ - just finished listening.

I think you came across really well and argued your position admirably.

I did feel that there was an agenda to use a weight of evidence against you, hence the inclusion of some very imho flimsy allegations.

Fundamentally I came away wondering what the case was against you, other than you resisting the doctrine of self Id.

Combined with the transcript from Venice it's a very sad reflection on the state of the LP at the present time.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 08/03/2018 20:41

@JenniferJames

I listened to the whole thing & you were brilliant.

It was really chilling to read Venice's transcript & listen to your recording - thought crime is sneaking in & it's scary.

I hope all goes well for you & Venice, and that you get good outcomes.

I'm a Tory (sorry!) - but the self ID thing & silencing/bullying of women is something that unites women across all of the political spectrum.
You are not alone in this fight, you have solidarity from people like me who aren't on your 'team' as well.

All the best xx

Ereshkigal · 08/03/2018 20:46

Thanks to Venice and Jennifer

seesea · 08/03/2018 20:52

Thank you Jennifer and Venice HaloThanksThanksStarStarStarStarStarThanksThanksThanks

PlectrumElectrum · 08/03/2018 20:53

Just listened too - you were great Jennifer. Bloody great. Interesting how swiftly your suspension interview has been dealt with while your own justified complaints from before your suspension have been ignored.

Good luck, your passion & commitment to Labour shines through despite the treatment you are enduring. They don't know how damn lucky they are to have people like you.

LangCleg · 08/03/2018 21:05

At one point I nearly refunded the whole pot, on the day when the solicitors outlined all the risks and said it cd be very VERY expensive... but then I read a comment on here from a Mumsnetter on here.. she said she was a 'bedraggled middle aged woman' or something... and she had given up hope, but I had given her hope and the crowdfunder had given her hope. Well I had to forge ahead then, for her! :-)

You also did great, Jen.

Just to reiterate - I may have flounced off from Labour but I will be happy to donate again if the money runs out and you need it.

Ereshkigal · 08/03/2018 21:13

That point when in JJ's sinterview they tried to make out that by tweeting a picture of Stalin to the secret thoughtpolice Facebook group Labour Against Transphobia admin who is a disability rights campaigner she was saying that disabled people should be sent to the gulags HmmAngryHmmAngry

ListsWonderfulLists · 08/03/2018 21:18

Just adding my voice to those of you saying how amazing you are Venice and Jennifer. The transcript and recording are both ludicrous and scary but you coped so well in the face of such ridiculous questioning.

LadyLance · 08/03/2018 21:39

When Jeremy Corbyn was elected leader of the Labour party, I always got the sense he didn't get feminism or just didn't think women's rights were important. The fact that he's ultimately in charge of this shitshow just confirms it for me.

Jennifer and Venice, you are both so brave and inspiring.

snawdays · 08/03/2018 21:42

That’d whats odd about Corbyn, he can talk to extremists, but he’s got less respect for dissenting opinion when it comes to his own policies. A strong statement that labour would work to protect women’s rights whilst making the UK a better place for transpeople would have done so much to assuage concerns.

woman11017 · 08/03/2018 21:43

Ereshkigal Seemed odd that interviewer intimated that Stalin sent disabled people to the Gulag. He sent minor criminals and political dissidents there. She must have been thinking of the shoah. But what a disgusting as well as idiotic suggestion. Absolutely horrendous that Labour is behaving like this. Clueless and sinister.

Deafening silence on the abuse that you had received. What you said about the male domination of local parties was excellent, and is the really important part of this losing attempt to shut us down.

You were brilliant, Jennifer James. Flowers

seesea · 08/03/2018 21:44

jenniferjames I have just relistened to your audio.

You are impressive articulate and intelligent.

i am so glad you mentioned the abuse you get and that you have made complaints that have not been followed up on.

I am also glad you mentioned the risk of sexual predators.

A million thank yous.

An exhausted working m

Datun · 08/03/2018 21:44

@JenniferJames

Also just listened to the recording.

If it wasn't so frightening, it would be risible.

Perfectly normal comments and criticisms of an ideology, turned into a burn the witch scenario.

The ridiculous overdramatisation of standard, every day discourse to imply the heights of heinous catastrophe is embarrassing.

Are people actually paid to dissect and analyse this?

Awful show.

seesea · 08/03/2018 21:46

datun i agree.

So I take it they both can't really be suspended can they? For being women, gender critical feminists?

Datun · 08/03/2018 21:51

seesea

Good knows. I truly think they might be that contemptuous of the people they are supposed to represent.

Which, given numerous platforms where this can be aired, is really, really not a smart move.

But maybe they are stupid as well as contemptuous.

Datun · 08/03/2018 21:55

Women are being hauled over the coals for, hand on heart, entirely genuine, rational concerns. Not least of which, is being censored and silenced for merely having those concerns.

And, in the meantime they are being relentlessly persecuted, doxxed, threatened, having family members threatened, employers called and their businesses targeted.

It's disgusting.

seesea · 08/03/2018 22:01

Yes and I suppose in some ways the outcome doesn't matter. Those transcripts are damming.

This is incredibly damaging for votes. I wonder if it will hit the wider media?

What a completely unfair process if Jennifer has made complaints that have not been dealt with and she has to sit through that meeting and deal with what I can only think of as spurious complaints.

Also I might be wrong but that man asking Venice about feminism in the animal kingdom - I mean was he subconsciously trying to get in that he is an alpha male and dominate rather than run a hearing? ShockShockShock

I simply can't vote Labour.

I never would have thought I would say that.

Again though it is great to hear Venice and Jennifer in action their dogged determination is awe inspiring. SmileSmileSmile
