Women in leadership making room for transwomen (because you know how many women are in leadership roles)
BUS accepting transwomen to compete as women in sports

Oh ffs

LumpySpacedPrincess · 19/02/2016 16:09

I couldn't get past gender neutral sex ed...[head in hands emoticon]

Hullygully · 19/02/2016 16:11

agggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

fight fight fight fight fight fight

MrsJamin · 19/02/2016 16:11

This is not good. Someone who has grown up as a man won't be able to get half the issues that a women's officer would need to have personal experience of. A bit of a "Rachel Dolezal" situation to me.

Cerseirys · 19/02/2016 16:14

WTF is gender neutral sex ed?

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 19/02/2016 16:16

Gender neutral sex ed? Seriously? Gah.

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 19/02/2016 16:17

Wait, can we clarify - is the person running for women's officer at a Uni or for the entire NUS?

bigkidsdidit · 19/02/2016 16:18

Why can't men in leadership positions make way for trans women? Why specifically women making way?

PurpleDaisies · 19/02/2016 16:20

It's for the whole NUS oneflewoverthecuckoosnest.

PurpleDaisies · 19/02/2016 16:22

I'm so sorry I've got your name wrong there oneflewoverthedodosnest.

Sophie38 · 19/02/2016 16:24

They need to choose someone with more experience of being a woman.

msrisotto · 19/02/2016 16:25

Fucking hell, what a piss take

bigkidsdidit · 19/02/2016 16:26

What does the bit about 'trans women's issues are being sidelined in the trans community' mean Confused

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 19/02/2016 16:28

I'd like to come up with a coherent response to this, but all I'm thinking is "Oh for fucks sake"

Hullygully · 19/02/2016 16:30

And "diverse women," that'll be men then.

soapboxqueen · 19/02/2016 16:30

bigkidsdidit I was wondering that myself

Claraoswald36 · 19/02/2016 16:30

Oh bore off!!
But I might get some popcorn for when the trans thought police rock up

Tea - strongly agree

Tartyflette · 19/02/2016 16:36

Fuck! My old Alma Mater! but it always was a bit sanctimonious on issues like these

Lottapianos · 19/02/2016 16:36

Jesus, I am so sick of this. 'Women's Officer'! I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry

coffeeisnectar · 19/02/2016 16:37

What is the sex ed thing about? I don't understand? Sex ed at uni? And how can it be gender neutral? Surely you either have a penis or a vagina and the accompanying hormones and bits that make babies? I just think odfod when I read shit like this.

I feel like women's rights are being eroded by trans rights as if their fight is more important and that their right to become a woman is more important than the rights of women who were born women. Thus alienating half the population because how the fuck can someone who has lived as a man be able to understand a hormonal female mind? Just baffling.

PerspicaciaTick · 19/02/2016 16:44

I can't get passed the aim to get women to cede their rare and hard-won positions in leadership to transwomen.

Why can't transwomen win their own positions in leadership at the expense of men rather than women?

Tartyflette · 19/02/2016 16:44

Just had a look could it be a wind-up? Sorry and all that but that's just a bloke in a really bad wig and a frock. (Ducks).

Cocolepew · 19/02/2016 16:49

Oh ffs, what a travesty.
