Been busy. Came back today to have a look but the Pub thread was full! Shock Shall we continue here?

Third episode of Borgen on tonight. Smile

No, scrap that, DS3 and 4 now shouting at each other.
Ah well...

legoplayingmumsunite · 24/12/2013 16:09

Buy busy here. DH is folding clothes and finishing paperchains and watching Toy Story with the kids. I'm thinking about icing the cake but hiding in the study MNing at the moment. Kids are so excited it's ridiculous, all thoughts of the impossibility of FC seeing what everyone is doing forgotten. Feeling like a wonderful mother because the DDs get lovely chocolate lollies in their stocking from a local patisserie, they didn't do dairy-free ones so I've made one myself for DS and even wrapped it in cellophane with a pretty ribbon (I have a ribbon drawer, get me!). I did get to lick the bowl I melted the chocolate in though so it wasn't all hardship.

Merry Christmas everyone for tomorrow and thanks for 'radicalising' me as DH described it. He does now notice the lack of female characters in films though so I think that means he's been radicalised as well.

AntiJamDidi · 24/12/2013 16:22

Happy Christmas everyone.

Mildred, I completely agree with everything you said about family friendly working, I shall try to remember your way of phrasing it for the next time the topic comes up (it often does with that one woman). Have a lovely time wherever you are going (I assume to your parents or ils)
I only have 1 believer too, dd1 figured it out age 7 Sad Dd2 is 3 and she wholeheartedly believes. She knows that not all of the Santas she's seen are the real Santa, some of them are just grown ups dressed up. I hope I can keep her believing a bit older than 7, but she seems just as logical as dd1.

I'm glad I don't have to be out in this weather, we haven't had any problems so far but there are flood warnings for our whole town for today and tomorrow. I'm not worried for us, cos we live up a hill, but some of our friends might be affected.

UptoapointLordCopper · 24/12/2013 20:48

I don't think my kids really believed in Father Christmas in the first place. I never said yes or no. I'm an expert at evasion - "And what do you think?" Wink

Merry Christmas everybody!

I'm the only person awake in our house. Dd1 must have woken up at some point because the stocking that was outside her bedroom is now inside her bedroom, but there are no noises from in there. Dd2 has seen her stocking as she came into our bed in the night, walking past it, but she just grinned at me excitedly as she climbed in beside me and fell asleep again. Thank goodness for that - it was 2:30am and I am NOT prepared to start my day at that time.

scallopsrgreat · 25/12/2013 10:14

Merry Christmas all. Hope you all have a good one! I'll see you on the other side Grin

PacificDingbat · 25/12/2013 10:48

Merry Feminist Christmas to you all Xmas Smile

Me and my fridge - NOT!

Enough of that nonsense - I am off to light a fire. Literally, not DH's...

PenguinsDontEatStollen · 25/12/2013 14:40

Merry Christmas one and all!

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 25/12/2013 22:08

Hope everyone had a lovely day!

Can someone get me a drink before I go ranting all over threads where the "D"Hs of SAHMs are whinging about their presents even though said SAHMs are living off mat pay or child benefit rather than sharing fun money equally ...

PacificDingbat · 25/12/2013 22:11

Here, have WineWineWine

I have posted this more than once today...

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 25/12/2013 22:17

Thanks PD

AntiJamDidi · 25/12/2013 22:37

I'm drinking berry cider now, my annual tipple on Christmas night. I rarely drink but dp always buys me one of these for Christmas adn wraps it for under the tree so I have more presents to open.

Doctrine I've been getting annoyed with the 'd'hs on those threads too, so much so that I actually turned off the computer earlier and participated in real life Xmas Shock. I'm back now though Xmas Grin

I hope everyone has had a lovely, stress-free Christmas as much as I have. We've spent the day just the 4 of us. We didn't even get up til 9am Xmas Shock, dd2 just didn't wake up and dd1 never gets up through her own choice (teenage grumpiness). Christmas dinner was a fairly basic roast I didn't even roast anything, I grilled some chicken breasts and a bought cheesecake, it took no longer than I would spend cooking any meal. We let the dds play with their presents and had no need to go anywhere or see anyone. It was lovely. Tomorrow we'll see the ils and it'll be lovely there too, cos mil is a fantastic cook and she buys tons of thoughtful presents. Then on Friday my parents are coming over for the afternoon (more presents - yay!!).

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/12/2013 19:31

Grown-ups moan about their presents? Shock

Here I am telling my kids that nobody has to give them any presents ...

We've got a fiendishly difficult jigsaw puzzle. Smile Smile

Hello pubgoers. I really fancy a swift drink tonight.

Any clouds and sky in that jigsaw, I'm really good at those Smile

Why do our visiting young men "interested in feminism, just want to understand, only trying to learn, surely it's about freedom and choice" - only seem to have an interest in freedom and choice for women in the areas of prostitution, porn and page 3?

Anyone would think there's an element of self interest if feminism can be persuaded to advocate for more access to Sexeee Bodeeees for the young men in question....

Latte please, BarSister.

Well, if men want sex, why don't they try and form a nice flirtation/FWB/relatuonship where they can have sex with a w

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 28/12/2013 09:13

Well, if men want sex, why don't they try and form a nice flirtation/FWB/relatuonship where they can have sex with a woman who wants it too?

Or is that a bit too sex positive of me?

PacificDingbat · 28/12/2013 10:07

Women want sex? Shock

Surely not.

Not me, not these days anyway, I just want hot milky drinks and a good book Grin

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 28/12/2013 10:43

Such good questions Doctrine. And when you ask him which other areas of women's freedoms he's interested in.... what a surprise!

And the failure to understand the concept of "women as a class" so predictable.

PacificDingbat · 28/12/2013 10:45

I am so not going to look for the thread you all seem to be alluding to
I intend to have a happy weekend, dammit!

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 28/12/2013 10:50
