Wtf is wrong with me.. photo included TMI

Woke up yesterday to a nawing pain where my knickers sit on my right leg. Thought oh I'm just getting fat and need bigger knickers.

Today I woke up feeling like shit. I can barely move my leg. It's agongy I cannot walk to see this monsteristy. There is a larged raised redness around it. I cannot get to the GP i have a meeting in the morning I cannot miss.
I feel really shit, keep getting cold as well. I thought infected hair folicie but it looks worse. Would show the large red patch around it but I'm embarrassed enough showing this. Please help 😭

I had an abscess in the exact same spot and had to have it drained under general anaesthetic as by the time I went to urgent care it was too late to treat. I was able to walk out the same day, but then had to get the hole it left behind (gross!) repacked with fresh dressing every few days while it healed.

Hopefully OP you have got treatment quicker than I did and the antibiotics will do the trick!

Just up at a&e been put on iv antibiotics. Infected abcess and cellitius. 😫 redness grew twice the size from when I drew around. Thank you for telling me to go, saved my life more than likely!

Hope you’re doing ok OP. I had one of these recently and it was an abscess. I raised an online econsult with my GP as I wasn’t sure whether to go to urgent care and they asked me to come in. They confirmed it was an abscess and started antibiotics but said that if I felt worse to go to a&e for it to be drained. The antibiotics did their trick within a day or so and then it burst and I went back to the nurse who gave me a gel to put on and some dressings. It all healed up pretty quickly - hope yours does the same.

Thank goodness you went when you did. Cellulitis can quickly turn into sepsis, which is a life-threatening condition.

Glad to hear you're having treatment.
Keep an eye on the redness, in case it darkens/blackens. I had a family member with suspected cellulitis, however it turned out to be necrotising fasciitis. Hopefully it's not that, it IS rare, but still worth being aware of the condition.

Ah so glad you have been seen. I had a breast abcess a few years ago and the palm sized red area rang a bell, was going to say you must go to A and E just like everyone else did.I also wanted to say what an absolute unselfless warrior you are to be trying to soldier on to make your sons autism assessment, I really hope it can be resorted for you. I’m only just come to this thread and I’m so relived to read you are in hospital getting treated!

I am also a parent to two disabled kids and I do completely understand waiting for those vital appointments…. But you need to be alive to do them and you being well is much more important to your kids. You can’t help being ill and you won’t be the first person to miss this appointment, they will have a process for it and will get you booked back in.

Thank fuck you're getting treated. I was reading this thread with rising dread. And your ex is a pillock. With regards to the missed appointment about the autism, is that with community paeds? Because if so they will all have done acute work in the past, and know not to fuck with sepsis, so I'm sure this will be taken as a good reason to need to rearrange.

God, this is just awful. Please get someone to help you and get to A&E.

I had this few months ago it like a boil .I had it on the side of my bum cheek omg it was so painful I couldn't sit or stand few days later my whole leg was hurting.
I called the doctors the gave me antibiotics .
After nearly a week loads of pus came out of it .

You really shouldn't be giving advice on medical threads if that is the level of your medical knowledge.
