Yes you should. Can you afford a private consult?

Leftbutcameback · 04/11/2021 14:15

Two years?! Have you got other concerning symptoms?

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:16

Maybe but there isn’t anyone in my area only miles away .. I maybe can enquire ?

I think some GPs let you do that thing where you can choose your hospital - mine includes one 40 miles away. Well worth asking

Also, are you on any medication?

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:17

I have pain in my lower stomach on and off .. blood test show raised IGA levels

Two fucking years? That is a disgrace. I'm afraid I would make up some other symptoms in the hope of getting seen quicker

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:18

No I’m not on any medication

Might be worth looking into Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO).

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:19

How do I post a photo for you to see ?

Could also be a sign of ovarian cancer. Please look out for symptoms and push at the very minimum to a CA-125 test, there should be no referral needed.

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:22

@LaCerbiatta my go checked for this bloo test but came back ok ?

Leftbutcameback · 04/11/2021 14:22

What is IGA?

Leftbutcameback · 04/11/2021 14:23

Use the little paper clip underneath the box to post a photo

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:23

It’s what they test when doing bloods but GP said could be anything

When you say pain in your lower stomach, do you mean in your actual stomach (level with the bottom of your ribs, more on the left had side) or do you mean your lower abdomen (large intestines, colon)? When you say growing how much bigger do you mean, a somewhat bloated feeling and a small extra amount, or needing to go up a clothes size situation? Do you have swollen joints or ankles? Have you ever been tested for IBS or Coeliac disease? Do you find the pain is after eating, when you have not eaten for some time, a a certain time of day? Would you be willing to try a week or two of cutting out all gluten and dairy to see if that has any impact?
Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:29

@MatildaIThink the pain is more in my pelvis ..my stomach looks like I’m pregnant a lot .. it’s grown from June to now lots and it’s very round .. I’ve taken photos but won’t let me post .. I have no pain in my joints and pain isn’t after eating .. I have cut out certain foods to see if that helps I.e bread

They should be ruling out ovarian cancer first!

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:31

@felulageller they said as that blood test is ok done nothing more about that

OP posts:
MatildaIThink · 04/11/2021 14:33

When they said the blood test is ok, did they test for CA125 and it came back negative?

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:33

@MatildaIThink yes they did

ShowMeHow · 04/11/2021 14:37

CA125 is not diagnostic alone. Requires ultrasound coronation as minimum. Low score virtually irrelevant without.

What age are you?

MatildaIThink · 04/11/2021 14:38

Ok, whilst that is not 100% accurate it would be very very unusual to show outward swelling and have no CA125 so that is a good result.

This might be a really stupid question, but could you actually be pregnant? It could also be a false pregnancy, although that is very rare.

Is the swelling soft or hard, if it is hard can you move the lump around? Do you mind if I ask roughly how old you are?

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:39

@ShowMeHow I’m 42

Welshandpro · 04/11/2021 14:40

@MatildaIThink I am 42 and done several pregnancy tests also the GP has done one on the blood tests I had

Hi, I've recently had very similar symptoms. I had H Pylori and stomach ulcer which were cured with antibiotics but I also had an ultrasound which showed very extended womb due to fibroids in the womb. I also had Ca125 which came back negative. My twinges of pain are in the lower abdomen but as I'm peri menopausal I'm not being given meds to shrink the fibroids unless I get heavy bleeding or extreme pain.
